10:18Extremely unfortunate decision. I think the main thing about this is exactly what don said the koreans have been prepared to run beyond the spanish defense

10:28I personally felt the two guys collided
10:31And the actual the look of despair on the dolls face as he pulls him down. I think soon as the referee gives a free kick
10:37Then the decision is made he's got to send him off because it's obviously a foul and it's not a collision
10:41So I think nadal was very very unfortunate, but it's definitely changed the game
10:46Dramatically it puts the pressure on the spanish now down to 10 men

11:25uh spain well really yeah trevor was making the point and trevor would know this because he's done this many times

11:37Keep it going and he gets pulled back there and they've virtually got a flat back four
11:42And there's the little angle run there and he was pulled back incidentally the referee could have give a foul
11:47He did well the goalkeeper and that's what trevor was saying he should have gone round that keeper

11:54Well ray the middle of that half a nightmare for the spanish but they came back at the death with a good chance for hiero

15:35There you see the ball played into a wide area good little ball into the near post
15:39Selinas makes sure that he's first to the ball
15:41Gets the vital touch just gets across the front of the defender
15:45You'd have to say poor goal could be in there from choy
15:47I don't know what he was trying to do
15:49But it's in the back of the net spain against the run of the play a one nil up
15:53And that just underlines really what i was saying about the koreans missed opportunities
15:57And julio selinas has kept his remarkable record going again
16:01Would you believe he's not started one single game for his club side barcelona this season
16:06He's made a handful of appearances all as a substitute johan kruijt quite simply doesn't rate him clementi loves him
16:13And they're into the box again here and that's danger for julio selinas once more and also the possibility just before that of a penalty kick
16:20I thought i think sorted that way but as wave play on let's keep the action moving

17:54So the barcelona duo have turned things around dramatically for their country here when the second half started
18:02I'm sure we all felt that the onus
18:05Was on the south koreans to make the most of their one-man advantage
18:10But suddenly spain have swept them aside and as they proved against jack charlton's team in dublin
18:16They are always capable of getting goals this spanish side they had a very good record in the qualifiers
18:21They averaged two uh two goals a game over two goals a game in fact and conceded just four in their 12 qualifying matches
18:28And now they've got two in 10 minutes here two in less than 10 minutes in fact
18:40And i feel that south korea will not have an answer to this
18:44That's a useful wall though for ko edge of the box headed away by abelardo
18:53Back now to kim and on it goes to lee kim again forward for lee but the return ball was just too far ahead of him
19:07Well they picked up the place again the uh koreans momentarily but they've lost possession here and once again

19:45Well dare i say that kind of sums things up really so much promise but at the end of it so little half i remember from the uh 70s

21:32and the opening two matches have done nothing to make us change our mind

21:46i think he just caught his shin in the turf as he hit that ball and tweaked the muscle
21:53or maybe that's his excuse certainly strikes a good ball but he went down there a lot of pain
21:59i think i think he'd prefer it on his right foot comes on his left foot drives it and i hope for
22:12it's a good effort it took a mighty deflection on route but that won't bother these south koreans

22:45well he is certainly one of the best players in this situation and he proved it

24:37i think the important thing was for both those goals that the sweeper hon came forward provided that extra man

24:55matter how many times we've seen it you should never ever expect anything but i frankly think we all felt
25:01that spain were on their way and just jogging home to a victory i certainly did the koreans didn't and that's
25:07to their great credit and they've snatched at the moment a draw from the jaws of defeat in the most
25:13unlikely fashion 15 minutes ago i would have let you name your price if you'd given me a bet on south
25:19korea coming back to 2-2 here who knows they could even go on and win it
25:29we've now had a minute and a half of stoppage time and as staggeringly it's 2-2 i can understand the
25:35spanish when they go forward they look a team they go forward they create chances they penetrate
25:40then they go and sit back they don't look a team all they've done is invited the koreans to come on to
25:45them and they've paid the price but could you believe it yourself i couldn't believe it i thought
25:50they'd make it a first but i couldn't see them getting an equalizer but you have to say over 90
25:55minutes they deserve it and they've got it they've got a point incredibly as referee meters and blows the
26:03final whistle in the dying seconds of the game south korea the 300 to 1 outsiders rated the poorest team
26:12of all the participants in these world cup finals have snatched a draw with two late goals in the
26:20space of a few minutes and spain seemingly coasting home now have it all to do against germany in their
26:27next match the final score spain 2 south korea 2 a remarkable match in the end here in dallas back to
26:35you matt thanks very much alan and trevor every now and then gentlemen uh the world cup throws up a
26:41dramatic game we've done well to get one in the second haven't we absolutely brilliant i mean
26:45strange game wasn't it and korea had played so well i had created six or seven chances didn't they
26:51could have had plenty of goals and yet you expected the spanish to win it and they took the advantage in
26:56that second half well they did that was the the difference between the sides at that time was there
27:00was no panic uh when korea had had several chances they panicked but it was the absolutely marvelous little
27:07build up by uh spain and again no panic knocked out to the right the ball comes into salinas no danger
27:14that was going to be the first goal and that at that time was it was probably their only chance that
27:19they had and they took it cleanly and once they got that one their tails were up weren't they ray and
27:24a second one was always on the cards most certainly when you're playing against spanish sides uh once
27:28they do get in front they really do start to perform and i thought they were playing some some beautiful
27:33football and and the second goal was it was an excellent goal it was a great run from salinas
27:37he had a super game played up there all on his own he gets into the box he's taking on defenders now
27:43gets a bit of a ricochet here and it comes through to uh goikacir who lays it back into his path he
27:48knocks it into caminero it's a fantastic save another shot from caminero but this is a magnificent pass
27:54a little hook volley back into the box and as trevor francis quite rightly said that's a magnificent header
27:59from uh quicker chair a great goal and at that stage at 2-0 i i was thinking it could have been
28:05three or four well we saw four goals but i thought it could have been three or four to to spain i think
28:09we were all thinking at least that it was three points for the spaniards uh and then this happened
28:13done yeah well this was the start of the comeback i mean a free kick on the edge of the box doesn't look
28:18and yet they hit one in the first half with the goalkeeper a good save and this goes through the legs in
28:23the wall i think it's herero takes a deflection it's a fairly well struck shot but the walls there and
28:28they're off turning the wall a little deflection no chance for carrizaris who'd play a super game
28:352-1 i suppose you could say dennis well that at least they've got the goal that many bookmakers said

29:27well germany at the top south korea in equal second place with spain so that means that spain's match
29:34with germany which is live and exclusive to itv on june 21st is all important all important the spaniards
29:42must win that one okay all evening we've been uh talking to members of the irish camp at that hotel
29:51in new jersey we're joined now by phil babb not a bad match that one was it phil no it was very
29:56entertaining uh four goals three bookings and a and a sending off you can't complain for entertainment
30:03value now we saw the underdogs there get a cracking result as far as south korea are concerned does that
30:09put you um a little bit mindful of the underdogs in your group uh i don't think there are any underdogs
30:16in our group it's been nicknamed the group of death uh hard teams there so uh no i wouldn't say that
30:25there are any any weak teams in our group a phrase like that group of death is one i may well nick from
30:31you um that must make you more than a little nervous maybe about facing the italians not really i think
30:38the the irish team this year have proven themselves with some a great result against the germans and
30:45again against holland so uh going into the italy game full of confidence and we're looking forward to
30:51it a word about uh the referees in the two matches we've seen so far sendings off yellow cards i mean
30:59you're a bit worried about that well if you get a good referee we're one in a million well
31:05uh it should be all right but uh just play play safe and behave yourself and should be all right
31:13now i know you're not going to tell me any trade secrets here but uh has jack uh got any anything

32:24well i think that uh there is a difficult group is a tough group but i think that they're the way
32:30that the republic have got the results over the past few months the the italians won't be too happy
32:35about playing them i could see the republic getting a draw against italy right i think it's always the
32:40favorable result i think it's it is without doubt one of the toughest groups that we've got here
32:45there is not a weak side in it and the irish will be mindful of the italians but they shouldn't be
32:50too worried about them get out there and get at them and and have a game against them and i
32:54think they could get a favorable result you've seen them several times this evening don uh they
32:59all look pretty composed pretty relaxed well phil there i mean he's a young lad he's just going to
33:03come into the international scene and like he's he's very confident about things and the thing about
33:09he's confident about his manager he's confident about jack he knows jack can sort it out for them
33:14and when you get players like that and they're they're confident in what they're going to do
33:17the tactics they're going to use they go out there and they play what about the players um ray who should
33:23we look for tomorrow night on the irish side on the irish side i think so long as they're that
