00:00Well, the main challenges related to the ocean for the city of New Orleans is that we are, of course, a coastal city.
00:07We are on the front lines of climate change, really climate adaptation.
00:12We are impacted by sea level rise as well as subsidence.
00:19So we're sinking as well as the sea and while the sea is rising, placing us, you know, more vulnerable relative to hurricanes and other things that we're seeing, whether it's heat, extreme heat.
00:37We're seeing issues with tornadoes, just wind, and it's something that we're living with every single day.
00:49And, of course, you know, rainfall that is in ways and in levels that we haven't seen before.
00:57So it's not a matter of if, it really is when.
01:00Again, we're making sure that we're elevating our voices globally and in spaces to reassure our brothers and sisters around the globe that we are in solidarity, that there's only one ocean.
01:18You know, there's only one Earth and there's, again, no planet B.
01:22So how we live in our city, it does impact, we understand, not only our region or our state, but the rest of the country and at the end of the day, the rest of the world.
