00:00The views there of people locally.
00:03And earlier, I caught up with Gavin and Stacey Starr, Joanna Page,
00:06to discuss what makes a great British holiday.
00:10We are a nation who love playing with our children,
00:13which I don't think is a surprise.
00:15You know, I've got four children and I love playing with them,
00:18but we found that 80% of parents say that it just makes them feel younger
00:22when they play with their children.
00:23And it's really good as a family, you know, because of all of that,
00:26to end up reconnecting as a family
00:27and going off on placations together,
00:30just having a couple of days together in this country
00:33where everything is all centred around playing and the children.
00:37So instead of going away and going, right, OK, you go off to the kids' club,
00:41we're going to go over here to just go away somewhere and go, right, come on,
00:44we're a family here, we're not going to have screens,
00:46we're not going to do any of that.
00:47Let's all, you know, just play together.
00:49And I recently had a placation with Ho Seasons.
00:53It was at Darwin Forest in the Peak District,
00:55and it was absolutely and utterly beautiful.
00:58It was just a joy because I've got four children,
01:00so packing, travelling, putting everything in for them.
01:03And then, you know, if you've got to go somewhere and travel
01:05and then it takes ages to get there, I mean, that's just exhausting
01:07and a bit of a nightmare.
01:09But the fact that it wasn't far away,
01:11we could just chuck stuff in the car.
01:13We got there, we were seeing the most gorgeous lodge,
01:15which had a little hot tub,
01:17which my son Kit just adored because he's very technical.
01:20And so he was there pressing all of the buttons
01:21to make all of the different lights come on.
01:23And then we went straight out.
01:24There was a little field with some goalposts opposite the lodge.
01:28We went and played football.
01:29We then went and had a trail walk all the way through the woods.
01:33We were doing the monkey bars, climbing up the climbing wall.
01:36We did sea scooting in the swimming pool,
01:40where I felt a bit like James Bond because I had this thing.
01:42And you sort of go under the water
01:44and then you swim around in the water.
01:46And, you know, just being in nature together
01:47and collecting pine cones and things like that.
01:50I mean, just being together and being with a family
01:53and being a unit and going,
01:54oh, it's just lovely and it makes you reconnect.
01:56Do you have any tips for how to make these holidays
02:00as big of a success as possible?
02:02Oh, take a nice pair of trainers or walk-in shoes.
02:05You don't necessarily need to have walk-in shoes.
02:07Just make sure you've got your trainers on you
02:09so you can get out and about in the countryside
02:11and take a little jacket or something.
02:14What's nice about these is that you can take all sorts of,
02:16you know, a T-shirt, a jumper, a jacket.
02:18You've got your jeans and, you know,
02:20I'd say, you know, take that out and about with you
02:22and also maybe pack a pair of wellies.
02:24Thank you very much for your time, Joanna.
02:26It's been a pleasure.
02:26Oh, it's a pleasure.
02:27Nice to talk to you.
