00:05discovered in a suspiciously parked SUV near a residential area in Tamanpulai Savana, Garik.

00:11Perak Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Noor Hisam-Nordin said the discovery was made around 1 a.m. on June 6,

00:19following a public tip-off about a vehicle that had been idling near a water treatment plant for an extended period.

00:25Upon inspecting the locked vehicle, authorities found over 123 kilograms of narcotics hidden inside,

00:34comprising 80 packets of methamphetamine and 39 packets of ketamine.

00:39The find marks one of the largest drug halls in Perak for the first half of the year.

00:44Investigations revealed the SUV was mechanically sound but had a tampered chassis and engine number,

00:50indicating it was a cloned vehicle.

00:52The original chassis number was traced back to a nurse in Serdang, Selangor.

00:57Police believe the SUV had only been at the location for about 30 minutes,

01:01as the engine was still warm when discovered.

01:04Authorities estimate the seized drugs could have supplied up to 350,000 addicts,

01:10nearly half the population of Ipo.

01:13Police suspect the narcotics were intended for distribution within Perak,

01:17and possibly to neighbouring states.

01:19The case is being investigated under Section 39, Subsection B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,

01:27which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
