00:00Police have confiscated drugs worth more than 12 million ringgit

00:06and busted a drug syndicate operating illegal drug laboratories

00:10and a factory in Johor.

00:12Johor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk M Kumar

00:15said the operation conducted from March 6 to 11

00:18resulted in five raids across Iskandar Putri and Seri Alam.

00:22As a result of this operation,

00:25five local residents and two Taiwanese residents have been arrested.

00:31According to media reports,

00:33the result of a series of raids over all seven arrests

00:38was that all of them were found to be negative,

00:42while three of the arrests had a record of criminal arrests.

00:47He said the syndicate had been active since July last year,

00:51operating drug labs within rented homes in gated and guarded communities.

00:57During the raid, police confiscated 2.5 kilos of MDMA powder

01:03worth 7.1 million ringgit

01:05and 182.8 kilos of shabu valued at 5.8 million ringgit.

01:12Police also seized drug processing equipment,

01:15luxury vehicles, jewellery and bank accounts,

01:20bringing the total value of assets and drugs confiscated to 14.4 million ringgit.

01:27The seven suspects have been remanded until March 20

01:31to help with police investigation.
