00:00National Grid says it has listened to the public and is proposing shorter pylons along a stretch of the Lincolnshire Walls in the hope of gaining more support for the Great Grid upgrade.
00:12We spoke to Project Director Ben Muncy ahead of a new consultation which outlines a number of changes that are being put forward.
00:22You talk about a shorter stretch, how high will the new proposed pylons be?
00:30And how long is that stretch?
00:34So we're proposing low height towers. I think it's for approximately 20 towers.
00:41It's a relatively short section of the project, but that's where it runs closest to the Lincolnshire Walls.
00:50So we recognise that we want to minimise the impact on the walls.
00:57And that's the reasoning for promoting it at that location.
01:02In doing that, we do consider different types of low height pylon.
01:09So we've looked at a number of options and we'll be presenting the reasoning for promoting it at this location as part of our consultation.
01:17But those towers are approximately, or typically 40 metres in height compared to a typical height of 50 metres for standard lattice tower.
01:25So we've looked at this at this location, where it's located.
01:35I've found the future of the Pyrrides in the top of the Pyrrides here in the top of the Pyrrides.
