00:00Say aye, of the contrary, no, I think the ayes have it, the ayes have it.
00:07Petition, Sonia Kumar.
00:10Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker, for calling me to present the petition this evening on behalf of the constituents of Dudley.
00:17Despite the Conservative Council pledging funding in the public Q&A in April this year,
00:22the Sycamore Adventure Centre is due to be privatised and its risk of hiked entrance fees.
00:29The centre must remain solely controlled by Dudley Council.
00:33This petition declares that Sycamore Adventure Centre has served as a vital, safe, inclusive community space for children and young people in the area.
00:43For decades, it has been more than just a plague site.
00:46It has fostered community cohesion, supported children's physical and mental health, and given young people a place to explore, learn and grow.
00:55The petition therefore requests that the House of Commons urge the government to stop the privatisation of Sycamore Adventure Centre,
01:02guarantee that access to the centre remains open and affordable for all families,
01:08preserve the current number of place sessions and hours of operation,
01:12and work with local residents, staff, young people, protect and enhance the centre as a valued community resource.
01:19And the petition remains.
01:21Petition, privatisation of Sycamore Adventure Centre.
01:40I beg to move, this House do now adjourn.
01:53The question is, this House do now adjourn, Catherine Atkinson.
