Bernie Sanders Give Unvarnished Take On Trump-Musk Public Feud

During a CNN interview on Sunday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) discussed the ongoing public feud between Elon Musk and President Trump.

00:01Musk has evolved over the years.

00:04My understanding is he actually voted for Obama, I think, in 2008.

00:08But over the years he has developed into a right-wing extremist.

00:13The issue, and I think the drama, the story of what happened last week

00:18is you are living increasingly in an oligarchic society.

00:22And Musk said to Trump,

00:24Hey, listen, I spent $270 million to get you elected.

00:28I bought you the presidency because we have a corrupt campaign finance system

00:32and billionaires can do that.

00:33And Trump said,

00:34Well, I gave you the right to run the government for three or four months,

00:38but I don't like the guy you want to run NASA,

00:41and we're going to get rid of him.

00:42And Musk got upset.

00:43This is a fight between oligarchs.

00:46It's a fight among power, among the few,

00:49and it's really an embarrassment to those of us who believe in democracy

00:53and the rule of law.
