A single mum painted a colourful mural on her fridge - because she was tired of storing her food in a 'cold grey box'.

Omani Hamer, from Cleveleys, said it 'didn't seem right' that her family was eating from the 'boring' fridge-freezer - so she painted a colourful mural using spray paints.

Omani, who also goes by the name OneHopeArtistry, has also jazzed up her garden with beautiful flower murals to make the garden a more inspiring place for her little boy to play.

00:00When I first moved to our house I had a baby but I missed painting, I really
00:05missed it and I needed the time to paint. Then as he started nursery I was
00:10staring at the fences in my garden like, gosh that's a boring colour, I'm gonna
00:16paint it. So then I'd message my landlord, can I paint these with flowers? And he
00:21said yes. So I went for it, I painted it. My little boy is five, so the flowers
00:28and the little trolls they are, little trolls in the garden. So we'd play games,
00:33let's find the trolls in the garden. So I painted them, little characters on here.
00:38But I want to inspire him as well to get that creativity and open his mind and be
00:44okay with colour and stuff. He loves it, he loves it and he's always like cool you
00:49know, wow that blows my mind that's what he says and I think that's so good to
00:54inspire the younger ones. I carried on painting, I painted my fridge, also that
01:00was boring. My food was coming from a grey cold box, it wasn't right you know. It
01:06needed to be something fantastic in my mind. I was tired of the grey and it just
01:14dawned on me, I need to paint that fridge right now. And so I'd used Christmas
01:20wrapping paper to protect all my cabinets and everything. It was about winter time
01:27and I'd opened the door and I just went for it. It took about three hours to paint
01:33the fridge. It was something inside that had to get out and now I love that fridge.
01:38So the fridge has got a mouth at the top that's slivering waterfall that's fallen into
01:45natured rainbow and then it goes down into a stream. So the rainbow is like
01:51the symbolising your tummy, you know where it falls, the food. Yeah it's just
01:58like when you eat food it's like a ceremony isn't it? You buy your food, you
02:02clean it, you prepare it and then you eat it and I felt like the fridge I was, when
02:06I'm taking the food out of my fridge I didn't like my fridge, the colour so it was
02:10like a ceremony painting my fridge. I've been painting since I was young, I've
02:16been painting it all my life, you know. Not that I was amazing at first but I've
02:20always been painting. I really started painting properly when I was about 15
02:26which is when I painted my first bum. I painted it as a strawberry for a body
02:32painting for college and then ever since I just carried on through university, after
02:38university, got a shop, painted all through my shop and now continue painting. I painted
02:45my car but I sold that now so there's somebody driving around with my painted
02:49car and I painted mandalas on the side with like flowing, just a flowing movement
02:58with birds. It was a nice, you know, with the car moving it was just a nice colour. A guy
03:03down my street was watching me paint my car and he wants me to paint his car so
03:08that's on the waiting list. There's another guy in Cornwall who wants me to
03:12paint his bonnet so that's on the waiting list and there's a couple of people on
03:16the street waiting for me to paint my new car so I'm just trying to think of the
03:21perfect design for that. The artwork I produce is more like portraits, murals, body
03:27art and I'm moving into like a little bit of a quirky dream sort of scapes alongside
03:36my portraits. At the moment I've got a body painted mannequin in the Grundy art
03:40gallery. Actually there's two body painted mannequins in the Come As You Really Are
03:45exhibition is two body painted mannequins in the Grundy art gallery with a
03:50jellicle cat wig that I've made. It's got lights in the ears and that was for a body
03:55pain. The jellicle cat body paint. It was beautiful.
