Bruce Bochy discusses Kumar Rocker's rough return, Adolis' mechanical changes

The Rangers have to win tonight to avoid a sweep in Florida after they dropped a second consecutive game to the Rays last night. Manager Bruce Bochy joined the K&C Masterpiece to talk about yesterday's loss, Kumar Rocker's rough return from the injured list, how Adolis Garcia has been handling his benching and mechanical changes, and more.

00:00you mentioned adolis garcia i was really curious like when mechanical changes get brought up like

00:21i know chris young had talked about that what all does that entail and then also how has adolis

00:26garcia's attitude been like mentally during all of this yeah well he's worked so hard on trying

00:36to get himself uh back to where he was in 23 and and i do i i do appreciate athletes who are

00:46always trying to improve and and you have to give him credit for that he was he was trying to you

00:52know get back uh you know to be you know a guy that can handle uh you know all four quadrants

00:59and you get a little concerned with the the top quadrant and which he you know that's that's an

01:04area where he needs to get a little bit better but i'll say this uh you know he's his attitude's been

01:10great he knows he needs to tweak some things we're trying to get him more athletic he became robotic

01:16up there it's kind of like a golfer you know i don't know if you guys play golf but sometimes you get

01:21a hundred swing thoughts in your swing and uh and that's kind of what was going on with him

01:26he had his foot tucked in i mean you know toward his back foot his front foot and uh he was closed

01:33off and and he had all these things going through his head and and that was to me getting in the way

01:39so we have our hitting guys working with him now you know he hired his own guy we have our hitting

01:44guys with him trying to free him up get him back to you know being the athletic uh player that he is

01:49and uh so he could get off a swing that was more like the garcia that we know and just you know

01:57to clear his head and this was you know but it's about production and that's that's always going to

02:02be there we need to score runs so you know from here on out we we're looking to playing guys that

02:09will uh you know find a way to help us put some runs on the board and and so you know he knows that

02:16all the guys know that and uh he's worked hard and i think his bats have been better he's going to

02:21play tonight this guy's a reverse split guy and uh so i'm uh i will be playing them tonight
