00:12RealPage use AI to get around price fixing laws and to help landlords collude to hike up the cost
00:20of rent all across this country. State and local governments saw this happening and were trying to
00:25put a stop to their scheme. But Republicans just threw the software companies a lifeline. There's a
00:32line in Trump's big, beautiful bill that would bar states from directly regulating AI, which gives
00:40companies like RealPage the green light to continue their AI schemes that raise your rent. This is a
00:48massive blow for working families. They're just trying to make ends meet. But here's the thing.
00:54This provision has nothing to do with our budget. It's saying that states cannot make their own
01:01laws, which the Senate can't do. So I'm going to use every tool in my toolbox to strip this provision
01:09out of the bill. But I need everyone else to join me in this fight too. So please call your senator,
01:16tell them to vote against this big, beautiful bill, because God knows your rent is high enough already.
