Punjab Police have arrested a man suspected of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, and maintaining close ties with Khalistani terrorist Gopal Singh Chawla, the state’s Director General of Police said on Tuesday. The suspect is accused of leaking sensitive information about Indian Army movements across the border for years, including during Operation Sindoor.

In a separate development, actor Kamal Haasan has filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court, seeking orders to facilitate the release and screening of his upcoming film Thug Life in the state. This comes after several pro-Kannada groups demanded a ban on the film, objecting to Haasan’s recent remarks on the origins of the Kannada language.

00:00And first up we get you breaking news coming in. Pakistani spy has been arrested in Punjab
00:04is the latest that we're just picking up. Pakistani spy who was leaking information
00:08on Operation Sindhur to Pakistan has now been booked. In fact he had leaked troop deployment
00:16and strategic locations information that was critical at the time that Operation Sindhur
00:22had been launched and the name of the man is Gagandeep is what we understand so far.
00:28He is the accused in this case and he was allegedly in touch with the ISI. He was a pro-Khalistani
00:34terrorist. Gopal Chabla was the handler and how he was primarily functioning is that he
00:43was passing on all this vital information through cell phone that has now been seized in which
00:50it has been revealed how he had several ISI contacts. The Pakistani spy has been held in
00:56Punjab's Tarantaran. And that's the picture of that man on your screens. His name is Gagandeep
01:03and he was leaking critical information during Operation Sindhur to all his handlers in Pakistan.
01:10Arvind Ojha joining us live with further details of what the investigating agency has found out
01:16is that Gagandeep and what's next for Gagandeep?
01:22We are seeing what is going on in the past. On the screen we show looks at Gopal Singh Chawla
01:29which is the way to see the officer with Hafiz Saeed.
01:31He is the police, who is the police officer , which is the official of the Pupala
01:34sign of Pakistan. And today, the Jambal police have taken a call to imitate the Pupala
01:39police to the police in the connected areas that gathered the Tartan and the police police
01:41from Gagandeep. The police form of the police officer sent the police police to
01:43the Indian Army movement and all the knowledge of the ISI agents were arrested for Gagan
01:53Deep. There was a question that the handler of Gagan Deep is no other, but the terrorist
02:01in Pakistan, Gopal Singh Chawla. Gopal Singh Chawla connected to the ISI agents Gagan Deep
02:08to connect to Gagan Deep. He was arrested, and when his mobile was seized and the data
02:15of the mobile, he realized that he was a little bit of a ISI agent in contact with the
02:22operation of the Indian Army movement in Punjab. The important thing is that Gopal Singh Chawla
02:56Punjab's BGP himself did it.
02:59Gagandeep's handler was the handler, Gopal Singh Chawala.
03:04The police said that people could be able to get in the racket of this jasusi.
03:10Their assault was arrested by Gagandeep.
03:16Arvindji, many thanks for sharing all those details with us.
03:19Of course, we continue to track what happens next on this front.
03:26Moving on to more breaking news.
03:33Coming in, the Mumbai civic body that has shunned the latest Turkey deal.
03:38This is the action that has been taken against Turkey once again
03:41as the BMC has decided to scrap that deal to buy Turkish robotic life voice.
03:46In fact, there is massive backlash against Turkey for backing Pakistan,
03:50which is why it has now been decided that there will be no Turkish life voice
03:55for Mumbai beaches.
03:57This after India scrapped the Turkey aviation security knot.
04:02This is India's latest action against Turkey,
04:05where this is the decision that has been taken by the BMC
04:09to scrap the deal to buy Turkish robotic life voice for Mumbai beaches.
04:15Remember, Turkey had not taken that well.
04:19And several Turkish bodies and businesses that were trying their level best
04:25to prove that they very much stand with India.
04:28But this is a strategic decision that has been taken.
04:31And India is very clear in its position that Turkey has supported Pakistan,
04:37despite knowing how they continue to export terror onto our side.
04:41And which is why India will not have any association for the very reason.
04:46This is the latest decision that has been taken by the Mumbai civic body,
04:50the BMC that has shunned this Turkey deal.
04:52And they will not buy the Turkish robotic life voice that were meant for the Mumbai beaches.
04:59This deal has been scrapped.
05:01Yet another blow to Turkey.
05:04Mustafa Sheikh joining us live from Mumbai with further details of how this deal has been scrapped
05:18and whether there's any response from the other side.
05:23Well, you know that there are trade relations with India and Turkey before the operation Sindhu started.
05:29And now because of this entire thing, there was a backlash from the former public representatives of the BMC
05:37saying that how in a situation which was very critical for India, Turkey was supporting Pakistan
05:42and how can we engage in business with them.
05:44These robots basically were going to be used in the rescue and search operations in the beaches of Mumbai.
05:51In the monsoon season, there are high tides in Mumbai.
05:54A lot of people who visit seashore end up falling in the sea.
05:59And then there are search and SP operations that will be taken place.
06:03These robots were capable of doing search operations above and below the water.
06:08And hence this contract was placed.
06:10The BMC is now in the process of retendering this entire buying contract.
06:17And they will be looking at robots mostly which are made in India for this entire search and SP operations in the sea during monsoon back to you.
06:28All right, Mustafa. Thank you for getting us those details.
06:30Of course, it is another big blow to Turkey and they will face such action.
06:35Moving on, as Operation Sindhuur envoy, Shashi Tharoor has now spoken about the ceasefire deal.
06:45After Prime Minister Modi and External Affairs Minister SJS Shankar brushed off Trump's claim on the ceasefire,
06:51Shashi Tharoor has revealed that there was no US role in the truce.
06:56While speaking in Brazil, Tharoor said that no one persuaded India to agree to the ceasefire.
07:01He added that if the US president had to persuade anyone, it would have been Pakistan.
07:06Praising the Modi government, he stated that India stopped the war on its own.
07:11This statement contrasts sharply with the Congress party's stance.
07:15Congress has repeatedly questioned Prime Minister Modi's government over the ceasefire deal and the conduct during the India-Pakistan war.
07:22Back home, Tharoor's praise for Prime Minister Modi has created a conflict within the Congress party.
07:29What questions people ask.
07:36Look, we have enormous respect for the American presidency and we will speak with that respect in mind.
07:43But broadly speaking, our understanding is a bit different.
07:59We had consistently said from the very beginning on May 7th that we are not interested in prolonging conflict.
08:06This is not the opening salvo in some sort of war.
08:09All it is is retribution against the terrorists, period.
08:12If Pakistan had not reacted, we would not have reacted.
08:15That would have been the end of that.
08:16Pakistan chose to react with Schelling, then we reacted to the Pakistan reaction.
08:20And throughout every day the message was the same from India to everybody who would listen.
08:24If they hit, we'll hit. If they stop, we'll stop.
08:27We don't want war. We want to focus on our growth and development.
08:30This message was given to everybody.
08:32Our foreign minister was getting calls from other foreign ministers.
08:35He was saying the same thing.
08:37So in that sense, no one needed to persuade us to stop.
08:41We had already said stop.
08:42If there was any persuasion by the American president or his senior officials,
08:47it would have been persuasion of the Pakistanis.
08:49They would have had to be persuaded.
08:51We don't need to be persuaded because we don't want war.
08:53We want to focus on development.
08:55But what has changed in recent years is that the terrorists have also realized
09:01they will have a price to pay.
09:04On that let there be no doubt.
09:08When for the first time India breached the line of control between India and Pakistan
09:15to conduct a surgical strike on a terror base, a launch pad,
09:20the Uri strike in September 2015, that was already something we had not done before.
09:28Even during the Kargil war, we had not crossed the line of control.
09:32In Uri we did.
09:34Then came the attack in Pulwama in January 2019.
09:39This time we crossed not only the line of control,
09:42we crossed the international border and we struck a terrorist headquarters in Balakot.
09:48Now you would remember how earlier Congress MP Jairam Ramesh had raised concerns over Trump's claim of mediating peace.
09:56Listen in to what he had said.
09:58Peace fire's first question, why did Trump Trump do this?
10:04Why did Trump do this?
10:06Why did Trump do this?
10:08The first question was Washington DC in the DC.
10:10It was the first time.
10:12Why did the Uribe Trump do this?
10:14Why did the Uribe Trump do this?
10:16Why did the Uribe Trump do this?
10:26The Uribe Trump do this?
10:28The Uribe Trump do this.
10:30The Uribe Trump do this.
10:32But when they came back.
10:33If you came back in Qatar then, you took the time on educating them and bred that because we could Trump have adopted this.
10:42That's why this Trump do this.
10:45Why did the Uribe Trump do this?
10:46Marco Rubio's vaktaviyon and bayaanon par
10:49hamarai vijesh mantri
10:50to dunia bhar ki baatai bolte hai
10:52pravachan dhete rehte hai
10:55pradhan mantri ke maafik
10:58is per kyun chup hai
10:59Amit Bhardwa joining us on the broadcast
11:02with the very latest
11:03Amit, you know the politics over
11:05Trump's mediation has now taken a very interesting turn
11:08firstly for Tharoor to bust that claim
11:10that Trump did not mediate
11:12and India did not give in to whatever anybody said
11:15it was India's decision of whatever happened
11:17even if Trump mediated
11:19that may have been for Pakistan but not for India
11:21secondly that the Congress has been raising this point
11:25over and over again to counter the centre
11:27the fact that Tharoor speaks up
11:29must not only bust that claim
11:31but it is Tharoor versus the Congress once again
11:34Right, you know what Shashri Tharoor is doing
11:42is not surprising
11:43because he is part of the multi-party delegation
11:45which is on a very specific mission
11:47to defend India's interest and to expose Pakistan
11:50so when Mr. Shashri Tharoor on foreign soil
11:53says that you know
11:55India did not intend to indulge in war
11:58it was merely retaliating
11:59hitting at the park-based terror camps
12:03it is in continuation of India's line
12:06India's statement
12:07India's stance on the action
12:09during Operation Sindhu
12:11and he also said you know that ceasefire was not called by America
12:17because India never wanted to continue the war
12:20rather our stand was pretty clear
12:22that if Pakistan attacks we will retaliate
12:24so this has been a standard response from the Indian establishment
12:27for the longest time
12:28ever since Operation Sindhu started
12:30So Shashri Tharoor's statement is in line in continuation of that particular stance
12:35but when it comes to the indoor you know internal politics within India
12:40that put Shashri Tharoor in a very difficult spot
12:43because his comments is certainly defending India's stance and India's stand
12:50but that would also mean that the Congress party's stand of question becomes diluted
12:56because the Congress party has been constantly asking
12:58what was the role of American President Donald Trump
13:01in that ceasefire episode between India and Pakistan
13:04under which circumstances this ceasefire was called
13:08and you have had a really critical statement
13:10that has come from different Congress leaders
13:12so definitely if you compare these statements
13:15in context of internal politics
13:17it reflects at the turmoil within the Congress party
13:20otherwise Mr. Tharoor is continuing
13:23what India's stance has been on global platform
13:25back to you
13:26and while it is the position that one must take on the global platform
13:32but what really would transpire after Tharoor returns to India
13:35is something we'll track very closely
13:36Amit Bhardwaj
13:37I want to thank you for joining us this morning
13:39as we now move shift our focus to the politics
13:41over Operation Sindhu that just refuses to die down
13:45the war of words between the BJP and the Congress
13:47continues to escalate
13:48Congress Chief Malik Arjun Kharge
13:50who's renewed the demand for a special parliament session on the operation
13:54Kharge has also slammed Prime Minister Modi
13:56accusing him of delivering self-glorifying speeches
13:59over Operation Sindhu
14:01but the Congress now faces an internal feud
14:04as senior Congress leader Salman Khushrit
14:06part of the anti-terror outreach
14:08took a wailing dig
14:09calling it distressing
14:11that people at home are calculating political allegiances
14:14asking is it so difficult to be patriotic
14:18BJP to hit back
14:19accusing the Congress of routinely questioning security forces
14:23and crossing limits in political desperation
14:26with the Congress now isolating leaders like Shashi Tharoor
14:29who praise the government's handling of Operation Sindhu
14:32the big question remains
14:34can the Congress afford this public fallout?
14:39people keep saying
14:40what are you doing in
14:42in a delegation where there are people from the BJP
14:45what are you doing there
14:46now what are we doing here
14:48what we are doing here is
14:50what is needed for the country
14:52no matter which party you are from
14:54today what is needed
14:56is a single voice
14:57to speak in favour of the nation
15:00and that's what we are doing here
15:01and I think
15:02when I say
15:04is it so difficult to be a patriot
15:05that's the question that has to be asked
15:08of those
15:08who are
15:09putting out
15:11tweets
15:12and saying things that
15:14I believe
15:14are not
15:15very encouraging
15:16when you want to do something for the nation
15:18because we have a religion
15:20that has built
15:21and the people
15:22you know
15:22you know
15:23the people
15:24but not
15:25they say
15:26they say
15:26do not
15:26the people
15:27are
15:27what are you doing
15:29and so
15:29because
15:30the people
15:30are
15:31in
15:32the people
15:33that
15:33are
15:34okay
15:35and
15:36they don't
15:37I
15:38don't
15:38say
15:39I
15:40don't
15:42know
15:43Oh yeah, I think Rahul Ji ne puch riya kha mko kitna nukhsaan huwa isp kya pati liya?
15:49Kangres ka dhasham e unko apoi shen ke tureh se bhihavar karna chahi
15:55Lekin ye itna vada vishay me maan ke chal ta hon kya unko gambihta rakhna chahi
16:00Malika ardi mbhut warishp neta ay Kangres ke
16:03Mr. Salman Kurshid's tweet
16:29only reflects how the Congress Party has been repeatedly fault-finding patriotism and
16:40nitpicking on nationalism and now the Congress Party is sounding like the twelfth man of Pakistan.
16:49I reiterate, Salman Kurshid's tweet only shows how the unpatriotic Congress Party is now sounding
16:55like the twelfth man for Pakistan.
16:56Moving on, as Kamal Hassan's statement has angered pro-Karnada activists, triggering
17:02a widespread criticism and led to growing calls to boycott his film, actor Kamal Hassan has moved
17:08the Karnataka High Court seeking protection for the release of his film Thug Life in the state.
17:14Karnataka High Court is scheduled to hear the case at around 12pm this afternoon. Kamal Hassan has
17:19requested the court to direct the state government, police department and film trade bodies to not
17:24obstruct the film's release and screening. He has also sought instructions from the court to provide
17:30adequate security for the film's screening. Kamal Hassan's film Thug Life is scheduled for release on
17:36the 5th of June. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce will hold a key meet today. It has also
17:42decided not to buy Kamal's Thug Life movie hinting at a de facto man. It has also asked the actor to
17:48apologize. Meanwhile, posters of Eminem emerged in Chennai in support of Kamal Hassan. Posters
17:55clearly mentioned that the party stood firmly behind Kamal, emphasizing that he only spoke the
18:00truth, asserting that neither love nor truth requires an apology.
18:05Karan Hassan had a letter. This is a letter for the first letter, who found our Srivira
18:21staff. In that time, if you were to say that, every single artist has been using the blood of
18:25the Karnataka. They have taken a clear name and read it. If not, that is something that is
18:27After the day of the days we had nothing to do.
18:34Our day of our time is not in the night.
18:40Our day of the day was not in the night.
18:44Our day of the day of the day we were all at night.
18:52I was not at night.
18:54We are not going to die.
18:56We are not going to die.
18:59We are going to die.
19:01We are going to die.
19:03All opposition parties are going to die.
19:10Nagarjun Dwarkana joining us on the broadcast this morning.
19:14And well Nagarjun, both sides are very clear.
19:17They are refusing to budge.
19:19And it will be crucial now to hear
19:21what the Marika High Court says on this matter at 12 noon this afternoon.
19:24Also, I want to understand from you,
19:25how is Kamal Hassan's legal team planning to approach this matter in court?
19:30Well, the prayer before the High Court from Kamal's team is that
19:33need to give direction to the Karnataka government and Bangalore police
19:36and Karnataka police on giving adequate police security covers
19:40to the theatres who scream Kamal Hassan's movie Thug Life.
19:45But however, what the film chamber is doing is that
19:48they are taking a unanimous call that
19:50voluntarily they would not buy the movie
19:53and there's no question of airing it in the theatres.
19:55And hence, there's no request from the police to provide security.
19:59Only if the movies are released in the theatres,
20:01there would be a concern for security.
20:03If the theatres themselves don't buy the movie,
20:05there's no question and the court can't direct us to buy it.
20:07It's voluntary. It's business as well.
20:09So the Karnataka Film Chamber are not using the term ban,
20:13but something like a non-cooperative movement is what they are saying,
20:18that we would regulate ourselves by not buying the movies of Kamal Hassan.
20:22But we will have to wait and watch what the court would say today
20:24at 12 o'clock in the afternoon.
20:26And simultaneously what we are hearing is that
20:28a team from Karnataka Film Chamber Exhibitors Association
20:32who have bought Thug Life movie are going to Chennai today to meet Kamal
20:38and then speak to him and ask him to apologize and say sorry to Kannadigas.
20:42That outcome will also largely depend on Thug Life's future in Karnataka.
20:47Well, Nagarjun, certainly looks like Kamal Hassan may not take back his statement.
20:52And also how you had told us that movie insiders in Karnataka
20:57are not really against Kamal Hassan.
20:59So we wait and watch how this develops.
21:01Let's also tell our viewers how the actor turned politician
21:03has refused to apologize saying his comment was from a place of love.
21:08This is a democratic country.
21:14And I believe in love and justice.
21:17And I believe always love will thrive.
21:21And my love for Karnataka is true.
21:24My love for Hamla is true.
21:26My love for Kerala is true.
21:30So nobody will suspect it except those with an agenda.
21:35I've been threatened before.
21:38And if I am wrong, I will apologize.
21:42If I'm not, I won't.
21:44It's my lifestyle.
21:46Please don't.
21:47Time comes with me.
21:48Thank you for staying with India today.
21:55And we now get you more details coming in from Delhi on the case of that chilted lover
21:59who had brutally murdered the 18-year-old Mehek who was chased first by that chilted lover.
22:07Later, he stabbed her with a sharp weapon.
22:09In fact, killer Harshpreet, who set Mehek's body on fire.
22:13And later, that semi-charged body was dumped in a Delhi jungle.
22:18Accused Harshpreet, who was a classmate of Mehek, is what the police has found out and how brutally he took her life.
22:27Himanshu Mishra joining us live from Sanjay Van in Mehrauli to take us through the details of how he carried out this brutal crime and what next for the accused.
22:39Himanshu.
23:09How that was said,
23:11So it was a popular approach to the police.
23:13That was a powerful thing that had to do.
23:18He had to make a fight for three people.
23:20And then, a person who was murdered,
23:23After this, he died.
23:25He had tolake his arms.
23:26He had to kill the body.
23:30And he immediately attacked the attacks of each other.
23:32He had to kill the woods.
23:36This is the place that is so far away from the end.
23:38The main road is so far away from the end.
23:40So when the body is running,
23:42when someone comes to the ground,
23:44you can see this area.
23:46Here is the area.
23:48This is Sanjay One.
23:50This is a big area.
23:52The area is the area.
23:54When people come to the walking track,
23:56they are running and running.
23:58They are running and running.
24:00They are running and running.
24:02There are many other animals.
24:04That is why people are running and running.
24:08They have to take the body into the field.
24:10They have to take the body out,
24:12it Seems to be able to take the body out.
24:14So what kind of search is that
24:16the enemy says,
24:18when people come here,
24:20they have to take the action
24:22in the scene.
24:24They have to take the action.
24:26Because the publicity goes on.
24:28When the victim goes on,
24:30when the victim goes on,
24:32So he said, you're a man who is being attacked by his son, and he said, you're a man who was being attacked by his son.
24:38Since then, the police were being attacked by his son, he got attacked by his son.
24:46Because this is a small area, it's not a small area, this is a big jungle.
24:49So then when the police asked the police to Arshkira, he came to the police and then the body was over here.
24:58Then the police had the murder of the murder and the murder of the police in this case and the investigation was going on.
25:07I requested to stay on with us because Mehek's father Rakesh Kumar has also spoken.
25:12Let's listen to what he said after which I come back to you.
25:19He called me and called me and called me and called me and called me and called me and called me.
25:27He was leaving me at 8 o'clock.
25:29My girl was at 10 o'clock at 10 o'clock.
25:31The girl was out of 12 o'clock in the morning.
25:35My girl was not out of the night.
25:39The girl was so tortured and so killed me.
25:45I want to come back to you
25:59and needless to say how the family seeks justice
26:01but given where the investigation leads
26:04and what the police has found out
