CTP (S3E107) Freedom Beyond Fireworks (#4thOfJuly discussion part 2)
We delve even deeper (for this 2nd week in a row) into the ongoing battle for America's constitutional freedoms and the importance of active civic engagement beyond symbolic holiday celebrations. The continuous erosion of our rights demands more than online complaints—it requires tangible action from citizens willing to defend the republic our founders established.
• Highlighting the tradition of watching "An American Carol" during Independence Day as a reminder of ongoing attempts to diminish patriotic celebrations
• Examining recent Supreme Court decisions on free speech and affirmative action that should have been settled by previous rulings
• Clarifying the political spectrum with anarchy (no government) on the far right and totalitarianism on the far left
• Exposing the parallels between historical fascist/communist platforms and modern progressive policies
• Warning about government overreach in healthcare as a mechanism for control rather than public benefit
• Urging listeners to become Republican Party delegates and actively participate in local politics
• Discussing cultural symbols like the rainbow and the importance of reclaiming them through biblical context
• Emphasizing Reagan's warning that "freedom is but one generation away from extinction"

00:00Welcome to the Constitutionalist Politics Podcast, a.k.a. CTP.
00:07I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard, and that's L-E-N-A-R-D.
00:12CTP is your no-must, no-fuss, just-me, you, and occasional-guest type podcast.
00:19I really appreciate you tuning in.
00:22Graham Norton will say, let's get on with the show!
00:25One, I am going to be a little slow, a little deliberate, a little cautious in my words here,
00:39my verbiage here, because I'm going to engage in a bit of a cheat here with my show.
00:50So, I'm going to use this same intro, same segue into an episode for two weeks in a row.
01:04I'm planning on, now, for June the 28th, Saturday monologue, and July the 5th, Saturday monologue,
01:15use this same intro, which would be season, whoops, season 2-106, and actually, I'm catching myself now.
01:28July will be start of third season, so season 3-107, episode 107.
01:37I've got to remember to get in that swing of things.
01:42Remember, I started in June, so I do my seasons based on a full 52 weeks of one full year of
01:55Saturday monologues, not a calendar year.
02:00I could have cheated and already said, well, 2025 is season 3 starting in January, but I didn't want to do that.
02:09So, rolling into July of 2025, indeed, will be season 3, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about.
02:18Normally, when it comes to holidays, I don't do the holiday thing either before or on the holiday.
02:32Usually, I wait a week, sometimes two, sometimes three.
02:36Like with Mother's Day last year, a retrospective, and around Mother's Day this year, I reprised last year's Mother's Day retrospective.
02:50Well, I'm engaging in that cheat again, as well as this cheat of using this sub-intro into the episodes of planning to replay two episodes.
03:06On June the 28th, leading into 4th of July, I plan on reprising Season 1, Episode 3, Remembering Freedom and Our Rights Beyond the 4th of July.
03:24And Season 3, Episode 3, July the 5th, obviously the day after the 4th of July, I plan on reprising, Remembering Freedom and Our Rights, Part 2, which was Season 1, Episode 4.
03:46For those who may have missed them, or may have forgotten them, and I get to be a little lazy, to be honest, not having to record a whole new show, I'm doing this cheat intro that I'm going to use twice for two episodes in a row to lead into those.
04:08Before I begin the reprise shows, I want to first mention every 4th of July, well, let me back up, Christmas, right?
04:23Around Christmas time, people usually dig up Die Hard again, or we see It's a Wonderful Life on TV over and over and over, like the entire month of December.
04:36People rewatch certain things, well, on 9-11, the week of 9-11, I have certain 9-11-related things that I dig up and rewatch every year during the 9-11 somber remembrance time.
04:55It's not an anniversary, certainly not a holiday, anniversaries in my mind are for happy things, so that's a, just like, I'm recording this now, Memorial Day just passed, because I'm recording this ahead for the end of June and beginning of July.
05:20Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Memorial Day is a, you know, the anniversary of someone's birth, generally a happy celebratory thing.
05:38Memorial Day is a somber remembrance time, unlike Veterans Day when we are celebrating those who had served or Armed Forces Day, and there is a difference in those holidays, celebrating those who are serving in the military.
06:03But the 4th of July is both a happy holiday and a somber remembrance day, as we remember all those who fought and died in our revolution to give us what we've got.
06:21But I said that about Christmastime and 9-11, because every 4th of July, I dig up a film called An American Carol.
06:36Here's my DVD copy of it that I own the film on DVD, a David Zucker comedy, you know, the guy who brought us Airplane and that, and it has Kevin Farley, Kelsey Grammer, Leslie Nielsen, Trace Atkins, even leftist Dennis Hopper.
07:04I love the script so much, even though it pokes fun at leftist, because the premise of An American Carol based on a Christmas Carol is a Kevin Farley plays a Mikey Moron type mockumentary maker and wants to, and this film was ahead of its time, which is why I rewatch it every year.
07:29And I recommend it to people every year about leftist, wanting to cancel the 4th of July.
07:38And again, right on cue, here we are again.
07:41Oh, Trump's enough.
07:42Oh, it's going to be the 250th celebration of America next year.
07:48Oh, no, they don't want to celebrate it.
07:50We've lost the mobocracy.
07:55We never were a mobocracy, you idiots, an ineptocracy or a kleptocracy that you want.
08:02We are a constitutionally limited republic and will remain such.
08:08But Kevin Farley, Chris's brother, plays a Mikey Moron mockumentary filmmaker who sets about wanting to try to cancel and eliminate the 4th of July holiday.
08:22It's hilarious.
08:23Dennis Hopper, again, lefty.
08:26It makes fun of lefties, but he loved the script so much he wanted to be in the film.
08:32And he's a hoot in the film, in the courtroom scene.
08:38I don't want to give more of a spoiler than that.
08:41James Woods, Robert Davi, Jeffrey Aaron, David Allen Greer.
08:48Also, another lefty, but loved the script and especially the part, you know, calling out the lefts, the Democrat Party, the Demo KKK rat slave past in the film.
09:10He wanted to be part of it.
09:12And, of course, conservative John Voight is in it, too.
09:16So, a great cast, a wonderful film.
09:20Please, please, you can find it on YouTube for free.
09:25But I recommend buying a copy and watching it every 4th of July.
09:30So, without further ado, if you're watching the last week of June, we're making the segue into remembering freedom and our rights beyond the 4th of July reprise of Season 1, Episode 3.
09:48If you're watching this cheat intro, the first week of July, or beyond 2025, the reprise of Season 1, Episode 4, Remembering Freedom and Our Rights, Part 2.
10:05Here we go.
10:08Take care.
10:08God bless.
10:09Thank you for tuning in.
10:11Hello.
10:14Today, we are going to talk about Part 2 of Remembering Our Freedoms and Our Rights and Those Who Fought and Still Fight Some to Defend Them and Preserve Them and How We All Need to Roar, Restore Our American Republic.
10:36Get it back to the Constitution, where we belong.
10:42The Supreme Court just gave us a few constitutional rulings.
10:47However, sadly, a couple of those cases should not have even need to be heard.
10:54All right?
10:55The Colorado Baker's case from a few years ago should have settled the website case.
11:05They did this time that you cannot be compelled to speak.
11:12You cannot be compelled to verbalize or write someone else's message.
11:19You cannot be coerced or forced by another citizen or the government, especially.
11:28Coerced speech.
11:30Compelled speech.
11:31I wrote on TheLibertyBeacon.com months ago about that, an article about free speech and yelling fire in a crowded theater.
11:42Remember that old farce?
11:44That was always a farce and a bad argument.
11:48Yelling fire in a crowded theater is not a matter of speech.
11:54It's not opinion.
11:56It is either fact or fraud.
11:59If you yell fire and cause a panic where there is none, you get charged with fraud.
12:06That's not a First Amendment issue.
12:08You committed a fraud.
12:10You incited a riot or incited unrest.
12:14Not a riot.
12:15That wouldn't be right, right?
12:17But unrest.
12:19You caused civil unrest.
12:21You can be charged for that.
12:23So, the yelling fire in a crowded theater was always a stupid argument.
12:28Don't make it.
12:30Or if you do, you have the rest of the story, as Paul Hardy would say, on how it isn't applicable there.
12:40Opinion is protected.
12:42And I wanted to mention that because the Colorado case should have taken care of it.
12:50The website case would have been unnecessary.
12:53And the other one is the affirmative action case.
12:56There was a University of Michigan case years ago that affirmative action was brought up.
13:02They made a limited scope ruling because idiot Chief Justice Roberts tries to moderate the court and get limited scope rulings rather than the broader constitutional issues that it is their bleeping job to determine.
13:23And they failed to do it the last time, so it came up again now, which is ridiculous because there are so many other cases that could be heard, should be heard, need to be heard, but they had to waste their time on these because they didn't do their job the last time.
13:45And you can find a Before It's News piece from me at J. Leonard Detroit there, but I created a shortcut.
13:58You can go to tinyurl.com slash SCOTUS2023rulings.
14:06So, again, tinyurl.com slash SCOTUS2023rulings.
14:13But today is part two of remembering and fighting for our freedoms.
14:20That is the key.
14:21As Reagan said, freedom is but one generation away from extinction.
14:28And this is a constitutionalist politics podcast.
14:33Let me show you.
14:34I've got the Taking the Rainbow Back shirt.
14:38I'm quoting Genesis and Revelation about the Rainbow Alphabet Mafia's fake six-color rainbow trying to displace God's seven, true seven-color rainbow and his message to us with it and the rainbow around the throne.
15:01So, they are trying to displace and co-opt and corrupt the rainbow.
15:08But that's a bit of an aside.
15:10You shall be known by your fruits is where I was going with all this.
15:16That means you get off your butt.
15:19It doesn't mean virtue signal, whine, moan, complain online, and think you've done anything.
15:26That's not doing anything.
15:28You must, you will reap what you sow.
15:32But that implies the very fact that you have to sow something in order to reap it.
15:41And as the Rush Rock Group song says, if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
15:49Or in this case, you're allowing others to sow what will yield rotten fruit that then we are all stuck eating.
16:00So, that sums a lot up in a nutshell.
16:05There is another Before It's News piece, also a companion piece at TheLibertyBeacon.com.
16:14You could go either place.
16:17TheLibertyBeacon.com.
16:18I go under the full name, Joseph M. Leonard.
16:22And again, if you're newly tuning in, it looks like Lenard.
16:26It's not French.
16:27It's Leonard.
16:27But without the O, you could put that in the search field at TheLibertyBeacon.com and find an older piece there.
16:36Or at BeforeIt'sNews.com, will real Christians save America?
16:43And by real Christians, I mean, I was born and raised Catholic.
16:48Biden and Pelosi are not Catholics.
16:51You cannot be for the slaughter, the wholesale slaughter of innocent children in the room, anytime, anyplace, any reason, by anyone with a coat hanger, and claim you're a Christian, let alone a Catholic or a Protestant or a Methodist or a whatever, whatever, whatever.
17:13Okay, I'm not trying to single out one sect over another.
17:19But the Christianity label as a whole.
17:22Will real Christians save America?
17:25That means, known by your fruits, you get off your butt and do things that matter.
17:32Like becoming a Republican Party delegate so that you fight inside the party.
17:38You can't scream, moan, whine at the players on the field and the coaches, scream at the umpires, yell at the cheerleaders, and think anything is getting done.
17:52You have to suit up.
17:54Put on the armor of Christ and get on the field of battle and fight.
18:01Now, figuratively, of course, we're speaking here, not literally, we're not talking about violence here.
18:08So, of course, hello, FBI, if you're watching this, I'm talking figurative fighting in the streets, verbal battle, a battle of ideas.
18:19We must restore our American Republic, all that the 4th of July was about.
18:26But sadly, no one's willing to fight to keep their freedoms.
18:31So many people fought and died for us to have what we have.
18:35Yet so many people, like I discussed in Terror Strikes Coming Soon to a City Near You book, my book, about how so, I have my character Martin say, he says,
18:47Because so many people in this nation hate it, the very nation that allows them, affords them everything they have.
18:58If you don't like it here, if you want socialism, go over there.
19:06Go where your preferred government is.
19:09It's a heckhole over there, right?
19:12And spare us the bull.
19:16Oh, communism, fascism, socialism.
19:21They're okay if we do it.
19:24We'll do it the right way.
19:26Like the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which I'll be mentioning in a future, the LibertyBeacon.com piece,
19:33about let's all go to the lobby, get ourselves some snacks and politics.
19:38In that movie, Rocket says, about the evil villain, he promised perfection.
19:47He just hated things the way they are.
19:50There's no such thing as perfect.
19:52And no politician is going to be your savior.
19:56They need our help.
19:58It doesn't matter who you elect.
20:00They can't do it by themselves.
20:03They need us fighting figuratively in the street to help them accomplish the goals we set for them and us.
20:14Rocket says that about him.
20:16He promised perfection.
20:18He just hated things the way they are.
20:22He, like every communist, fascist, socialist, any and every tyrant, promises some utopia.
20:31No, they just want to be ruler over the imperfection.
20:37It's just, meet the new boss, same as the old boss, as the Who song would say.
20:44But I wanted to talk today about the Nextdoor app.
20:48It's just, meet the new boss, same as the old boss, as the Who song would say.
20:54But I wanted to talk today about the Nextdoor app.
20:58There is an app called Nextdoor.
21:03I'm sorry, I'm getting a frog in my throat there.
21:05So I'm going to pull a Marco Rubio and take a drink.
21:11Sorry for that dead air there.
21:14But I needed a drink.
21:17And Nextdoor, someone was complaining about someone doing fireworks early.
21:23Obviously, clearly outside of whatever local, city, county, state ordinances allow for.
21:34And I said I can relate and sympathize to a degree.
21:42But they weren't clear.
21:44It is entirely possible the fireworks display happening around midnight, which is not much past beyond like the 11 o'clock cutoff most ordinances call for and allow to.
22:00It could have been a city display.
22:05We have Southgate Heritage Days.
22:08I'm in Wyandotte.
22:09Wyandotte has fireworks.
22:11They go long.
22:12They go late.
22:14The cities, counties, states, the federal government especially, especially fascicrats.
22:22Look at Hunter Biden.
22:24Rules for you, not for them.
22:28Hunter Biden committed a felony gun charge.
22:33That gets washed away.
22:35But if it were you or me, we'd be locked up forever.
22:40So rules for thee, but not for me is the fascicrat's tyrant motto.
22:47All right.
22:47Regarding these fireworks.
22:50No one I know wants anarchy.
22:53Total anarchy.
22:54No rules.
22:55No laws.
22:56Every man, woman, and child for themselves.
22:59So that brings us to the need for some government.
23:04Limited government that most of us believe in and call for.
23:09So we must discuss the political spectrum.
23:13Another thing the left lies about.
23:16Twists.
23:17Distorts.
23:18They try to call those of us on the right Nazis or fascists.
23:24Well, on the right side of the scale is anarchy.
23:31No government whatsoever.
23:34That's clearly not fascism.
23:36On the left is all those things.
23:40Communism.
23:42Fascism.
23:43Socialism.
23:45Monarchy.
23:46Total government.
23:48So you have the spectrum.
23:51Far right.
23:52Absolutely no government.
23:55Far left.
23:56All consuming and power and control.
24:00Dictatorial down from the government.
24:03That's the left.
24:04Fascism is a left spectrum.
24:07Not a right spectrum of the political spectrum.
24:13Anarchy far right.
24:15Our founders originally created the Articles of Confederation.
24:20Confederation somewhat from the right, but moving left.
24:24That didn't quite work.
24:26So then we had the convention and moved a little further left from that, but still nowhere near
24:33the middle of the spectrum, to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
24:40God-given rights.
24:41A constitutional republic, not a democracy, a republic that our God-given rights are sovereign
24:52to us and a constitution that limits the power of the government that unfortunately over the
25:00last 100, 150 years has been destroyed.
25:04And I'll get to human nature in a minute.
25:06But there is no difference.
25:09Let's talk about that left side of the scale.
25:13Communism, fascism, socialism, total control.
25:18It's not like the 1930s.
25:20The fascists in Germany were fighting the communists in Germany backed by Russia.
25:28Russian communists against German fascists.
25:32They were fighting each other.
25:35Today, there's really no difference.
25:38Communism, fascism, socialism, it's all the same thing now.
25:43Times change.
25:45They're all only interested in being the ruling elite over the imperfection, as I previously said.
25:53What difference is there in a socialist communist nation that directly owns a corporation and
26:03the government directly runs the corporation like happened in Venezuela when the commies took
26:11over there.
26:12They nationalized the corporations, took over direct control.
26:17That's communism and pure socialism, but mainly communism.
26:22Fascism is regulation.
26:27Oh, we give you the illusion of having a choice.
26:32Let's pretend you're free.
26:35But guess what?
26:36Strings attached.
26:38We get to regulate you.
26:40We dictate what you can do.
26:43But as long as you're following our dictates, you get to still pretend to own and operate
26:51that company.
26:52How is there any difference there?
26:55Really, people?
26:56Please.
26:58The Overton window.
26:59If you're old enough and you used to watch Glenn back on Fox News, back when he was on Fox
27:06News, the Overton window, you've heard of it.
27:09For those of you who haven't, the Overton window is regarding the political spectrum and
27:15the natural human nature tendency to be lazy, to be complacent, to just kind of go along
27:26to get along.
27:27So while we focus on our individual pursuit of happiness, there are others who their happiness
27:37means they want to lord over you.
27:42They seek power and control.
27:45And our laziness, our complacency, lets them get away with it.
27:50So that Overton window moves further and further to the fascist left.
27:58Unless we get off our butts and stop.
