00:19as we take a look at what's on across the city. Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in North Somerset is using
00:27May to highlight the role zoos can play in conservation, education and protection of
00:33endangered species. Through activities on site, the zoo is focusing attention on critically
00:39endangered animals including white-headed vultures, ring-tailed lemurs and southern white rhinos,
00:46species under growing threat in the wild due to the habitat loss, poaching and climate change.
00:53Let's find out more from Bristol World. Interactive trails and educational talks are
01:00designed to engage visitors with the challenges facing wildlife and the importance of global
01:06conservation efforts. While some campaigners have raised ethical questions about the role of zoos,
01:11many organisations argue that modern conservation zoos contribute to breeding programmes, public
01:17awareness and funding for wildlife projects around the world. All Aboard Watersports, located in Bristol's
01:24Floating Harbour, is a charity dedicated to making watersports accessible to everyone regardless of its
01:31ability or background. Established in 1974, the Centre offers a variety of activities including sailing,
01:38kayaking, rowing and powerboating with a focus on inclusivity. These facilities are fully accessible,
01:45featuring ramps, lifts and specially adapted equipment to accommodate individuals with physical,
01:51emotional or cognitive disabilities. Throughout the year, All Aboard Watersports host a range of
01:58sessions tailored to different needs and abilities. These include taster sessions, group bookings and
02:05open days, all designed to provide safe and enjoyable experiences on the water. The Centre also offers
02:12fundraising events to support their mission, such as the Anna's Special Fund initiative, which helps
02:20individuals from underrepresented groups access water sport. A new photographic exhibition at Southmead
02:27Hospital is marking five years since the UK's first COVID lockdown, offering a visual and written
02:34reflection on a period that shaped the lives of millions. Captured by Bristol-based photographer,
02:41Claire Fleming. Alongside the photographs are personal reflections exploring themes that emerged during the
02:48pandemic. This includes isolation, resilience and the role of public services. Several images feature
02:56messages and tributes left for NHS workers.
