00:00You are one of the winners of yesterday's stage, GCYs. What's your stand of it?

00:05Yeah, I was happy to gain some time. I was surprised that no one really wanted to go on the second last climb

00:12because that was a good opportunity to go and really put some damage in because UAE just wanted to ride

00:18a relatively slow tempo up there. But yeah, I was happy today with yesterday's stage in the end.

00:25Julia, you came to the Giro. It was not planned. You came as a domestique for three riders who came first or second to the Giro recently.

00:34And now you are the leader of the team. How exceptional is that?

00:38Yeah, I wanted a different Giro now because I wanted to help Primoz to take the pink jersey in Rome.

00:49But sometimes the things are not where you want. So now starts a new Giro and let's see what happened in the last three stages.

01:00Are you pleased with the fact that UAE team Emirates finally showed some weakness yesterday? Does it change the Giro?

01:06It for sure changes the Giro. But it also, I think, makes it a little more chaotic because they have such a strong team.

01:16And when their leader was looking almost invincible, then it was very straightforward of how the race was going to be played out.

01:22Now there's a lot of uncertainties. I'm sure Visma and EF will try to capitalize on that, on Del Toro getting dropped yesterday.

01:31So, yeah, it could make for some pretty crazy next few days.

01:36Do you know the Mortirolo? What do you want to make of it?

01:39Yeah, I did it in the baby Giro, but a different way up. So I know, I think we are, I know how hard that way it was.

01:47I think this way is not as hard, but it's still a hard climb. We also did the same way downhill that year.

01:52So, yeah, it's obviously a really famous climb and get to do it again. So it'll be nice.

01:57Are you in the ideal situation, second on GC and not far from the Maliarosa?

02:03I mean, yesterday was a good day. Of course, Caraba showed himself to be probably the strongest year.

02:09So, yeah, I mean, I'm happy with where I am, but yeah, we'll see what the next days bring.

02:16With your experience of the Giro, do you want to wait for Colle des Finestres or do you want to try and get the Maliarosa before?

02:23It's a cliche, but I'm just going to take it day by day. I think today is also a really hard day.

02:29Actually, the whole week, there's really no easy stage. So, yeah, I'll take it as it comes and I just try to do my best.
