00:06for their suspected involvement in a violent assault that left several people seriously injured.

00:13On Tuesday, Iskandar Putri District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the

00:19suspects, aged between 13 and 46, were arrested during a special Opchantas operation on May 17th

00:26and 18th. Six of the suspects have prior criminal records, though none tested positive for drug use.

00:32They face charges under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons and Section 326

00:40for causing grievous hurt with weapons. The case arose from a report filed by a woman who said

00:46three of her friends were attacked by a group of men armed with machetes and rattan sticks while

00:51drinking at a restaurant in Taman Mutiara Emas at about 12.40 a.m. Preliminary investigations

00:58suggest the incident was driven by revenge between rival groups.
