00:00He was arrested after seeing, he was a white male, 53-year-old from
00:29the local area and not as the far right are suggesting, you know, a suspected terror
00:35attack. And that's been put to bed quite quickly by Macy's Niagara Police because I think they've
00:40learned from last year's Southport horrendous attacks that, you know, creating those communication
00:47vacuums create, you know, opportunities for the far right to try and divide our city.
00:53It was just a bit of a blur. We didn't get caught up in the actual, like, incident. We
01:03were stood here and we followed the bus along the strand and came up the next street. And
01:09then when we were stuck in all the fans up the next street, that's when people went along
01:16the side to tell them not to go down there. And then it was just people, police everywhere
01:21and stuff. It wasn't nice.
01:24We've stood further on our way. But as the evening draws on, we're in a restaurant, you
01:30hear rumours that a van rummed into people. You hear rumours where there's been four deaths,
01:36five deaths. We woke up this morning and found out there's been zero deaths, which I'm so happy
01:41about and I hope it stays that way as well.
01:43It's inexcusable what that person did. And mental health isn't a serious issue. Fine,
01:51I understand that. But you can't just justify that. Like, there's kids, there's bystanders,
01:55there's people who should not go to a train and end up injured, hospitalised or whatever.
02:01You know what I mean? You should go home, enjoy your celebrations, go to your families, go to
02:04your jobs, go to your families, go to your jobs or whatever.
