Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region has said it’s “good news” that there were no “fatalities” after a car ploughed into a crowd of fans at the Liverpool FC's Premier League victory parade on Monday evening. Speaking after a 53-year-old man, believed to the driver, was arrested, he questioned, “how did a car head this way down this street?”

00:00The police will be bleeding on all of these sorts of issues and it's for them to decide on when they
00:05put a statement out but I mean the the good news is of course that there were no fatalities and
00:11then the positive news is that the police said that you know those people who were seriously
00:16injured and they're not life threatening injuries so that that's really good news. I think that's
00:21the number one question that everybody wants an answer to which is how did a car head this way
00:29down this street when there were so many tens of thousands of people gathered here I mean where did
00:35the driver think that they were going and where did they come from but that really is now for the
00:40police to conclude their investigations.
