00:24making his first appearance as a rendering posted to ex by user Transgbunny.
00:28But it was the second post featuring Gubby by the same user that started getting the creature viral attention,
00:33as Transgbunny suggested he be used as a dev killer in the Roblox survival horror game Forsaken,
00:38posting an image of the bunny posing with a shotgun.
00:41In Forsaken, some players play as killers who hunt down the other players.
00:45A dev killer is a killer that's only available to the game's developers.
00:48The post gained over 11,000 likes in about a month,
00:51as Gubby started to become the subject of memes and fan content.
00:54I mean, just look at him. How could you not love Gubby with his weird little curvy mouth?
00:58On May 2nd, for example, ex-user Rattrapped would post a video animating Gubby
01:03over a clip of a rabbit running around someone's house,
01:05garnering over 10,000 likes in just under two weeks.
01:12A ton of fan art would pop up depicting Gubby in all kinds of creative ways,
01:16often making references to other memes.
01:18Spreading the meme even further, on April 17th,
01:21Transgbunny posted a link to a Roblox experience called Gubby World,
01:25consisting of an entire field of Gubbies.
01:27Gubby would become so viral that, in mid-May,
01:29the Forsaken devs would actually add Gubby to the game as a dev killer,
01:33making Transgbunny's dreams a reality.
