The contestants in this episode are Sue Frogsome & Paul Wilson from Tyne & Wear, Brenda Beaumont & Guy Sanders from Cheshire, Gordon Farmer & Libby Grayson from Gloucester & Berkshire, and Kenny & Emma Diaper from Cambridge. Bruce Forsyth is on hand to host as usual, assisted as always by the lovely Rosemary Ford, though he's also got his loyal band of supporters in the audience today - Brucie's United Mutual Society, or BUMS, as they are known. The innuendo continues in such games as "Judo", "Saucy Art" (painting plates with sauce, complete with unfortunate noises that cracks Brucie up), "Well I'll Be Blowed" (which involves balloons, you'll be glad to hear) and "Celebrity Mime", where one hapless team mate has to mime the singing star to their companion. The finale is a musical number called "Dancing in a Dream", and where for once Brucie doesn't allow the teams to see what they have to do. There is a reason for that, as the ladies soon find out...

00:45You are looking at a very proud man
00:48A proud and humble man
00:50At the same time

01:14Once a year these ladies
01:16Come to watch the show
01:18And they come to worship at my feet
01:20Enraptured by my male magnetism
01:23Which quite understandably
01:24They find impossible to resist
01:26And I don't like talking about it
01:28Because I am a deeply humble person
01:31But...
01:34Here's another charmer
01:35In her own small way
01:37The gorgeous

18:19Lovely to see you again
18:21Now, you've done many things in art form
18:25But how did you get this idea that we're going to see tonight?
18:28Oh, it was a long time ago when I was about four years old
18:31Really?
18:32I didn't like bread and butter
18:33No
18:34And I couldn't have the chocolate biscuits until I'd eaten my bread and butter
18:37Yeah
18:38So my mother used to draw saucy pictures with tomato sauce on the bread and butter
18:42Oh, tomato sauce on the bread, I see
18:44Yes, and so ever since I've enjoyed saucy pictures
18:47Ah, so this is it
18:48Well, come over here now, we'll explain to everybody
18:50You see all these different sauces
18:52There's mustard, there's also salad cream
18:55A little bit of sort of flavouring here that you've got
18:58Just ordinary flavouring, that is
19:00Colourless, you see, edible
19:02Fine, now in you get and have a real, real good look
19:05Off you go, lots of red for the sky
19:07Let's see
19:08Red in morning, sailors warning
19:10That's it
19:11Bit of brown down here
19:12And perhaps a bit there
19:13Oh, I didn't make that noise
19:15There we go
19:18Lots of mustard
19:19Lots of mustard, alright, good
19:21And some blue
19:22Ah, the blue
19:24That's for the, going to be for the
19:26And that's just a bit of ordinary
19:27It's colouring, yes
19:28Just colouring
19:29You can eat it
19:30Oh, you can eat it
19:31Yes
19:32There we are
19:33Now, just get your sponge like this
19:35And you just very carefully put in a lovely, slightly stormy sky
19:40There we go, like that
19:43Take a bit of mustard to make a bit of green here for the sea
19:46Are you sure you didn't get this idea when you were getting bad service in a restaurant?
19:51And you were fed up and sitting at the table and you got all the sauces
19:54Oh, I'd be telling, wouldn't I?
19:56That would be telling, yes
19:57There we go
19:58Now, we get our knife
19:59Yeah, please watch this
20:06One down there
20:09There we are
20:10Lighthouse
20:11Oh, this is a lighthouse
20:12And a few rocks around it, like that
20:14Ah, that's it
20:15See, these are the rocks there
20:16Now, we've got to put the boat in
20:18Ah
20:19You need a tiny bit of this to put the boat in like that
20:22This is a very novel idea, isn't it?
20:24Yeah
20:25It really is
20:26Well, if you don't like the picture, you can lick it
20:31Now, just put a bit of grass in
20:35Oh, that's how you do the, sort of, the rushes
20:38That's how I do the rushes
20:39This is good
20:40Well, I think that's all right
20:41I think that's all right
20:42Oh, I've got to put the light in on the lighthouse
20:44Oh, yeah
20:45Oh, and a little bit of light coming in
20:46It's an emergency
20:47Oh, that's wonderful
20:48Okay, now, can we put that in a frame once you wipe your hands?
20:52Can you get it in there?
20:54There we go
20:55Am I holding it right there for you?
20:56Good
20:58There we go
21:00There we are
21:01There we go
21:02What a sight
21:03Now, how about that?
21:05Lovely, will you come back and do some more?
21:07Can you manage that?
21:08There we go
21:09Lovely, lovely
21:10Okay, come along here
21:11Stand by your tables and put your pennies on
21:13Put your pennies on first
21:15That's it
21:16And then we'll get all the sauces ready
21:19Okay
21:20Now, you do the same scene as Beryl
21:22But you must include three seagulls, a boat and a lighthouse
21:27Lighthouse, boat, seagulls
21:29Right, away you go
21:31Take your time, but don't make a meal of it
21:34Lovely, plenty on, get plenty on there
21:37As you saw that Beryl did
21:41That's it
21:42I know it's really messy, but you should get plenty on
21:45Because it does help
21:49And children, I hope you're playing this at home
21:52But not on mummy's wall
21:56That's it
21:57That looks nice
21:58That looks very, very good
21:59A few of you have really got it
22:01Very, very good
22:02A few of you have really got the idea
22:05Fun thing to do
22:07Especially Sunday morning
22:09If you're going to have a late breakfast
22:16I don't know what you've been mucking about up here
22:20God dear, oh dear
22:24Okay, stop there
22:25If you're up to, stop
22:26And Beryl, will you come back to do some marking please?
22:29Thank you
22:36Now, I mean, I don't know what you're going to make of this mess
22:39Paul, I mean
22:40Well
22:41I mean
22:42He hasn't got the boat, has he?
22:43Yeah, no birds, no boats
22:45And a lighthouse with a yellow light
22:48What was that, for the fog?
22:50I thought so, but well
22:52Well, I think I'll give Paul four
22:54Four, yes
22:55For standing there
22:56Yes
22:58But what about that one?
22:59Let's have a look
23:00Oh, I've got it all, the mustard all over my fingers
23:02I like the birds
23:03The birds are good
23:04The birds are very good
23:05And this is the bird
23:06I suppose that's the engine
23:07Is that the engine?
23:09It's leaking oil at the moment
23:12Oil, an oil slick
23:13But I loved her rushes
23:15Yes, the gas
23:16Yes, I think I'll give Sue six
23:18Six, very good Sue
23:20Very good indeed
23:23What have we got here?
23:25Well, I think Brenda's done a very good pitch
23:27It's really good
23:28It is nice, isn't it?
23:29Yes, I think it's ready for the taste gallery
23:32Oh, very nice
23:33Good boat
23:34Very good
23:35The birds are good
23:36And the lighthouse is all there, yes
23:37Yes, I think I'll give Brenda seven
23:39Seven
23:40Well done indeed
23:42Well done indeed
23:44And how did we get on?
23:45How did we get on here?
23:48I like it very much
23:49But the birds are a little bit droopy
23:51They are, yes
23:52They were tired, I think
23:54A little bit droopy
23:55Yes
23:56But the lighthouse is good
23:57Very good, yes
23:58And I love the permanent wave
24:00Yes, the waves are there
24:02Yes
24:03Aren't they, the permanent wave
24:04I think we'll say six
24:05Six for that one
24:06Great
24:07Well done indeed
24:08Carol, thank you
24:09We both touched it up
24:10Oh, yes

24:35So sorry to lose you two
24:37But look, you do get a Generation Gold telephone with our love

24:42Thank you for being with us
24:43And we'll see you in our grand final
24:45Which is coming up very soon
24:46Away you go then
24:47Off you go
24:48Thank you
24:49Come on
24:50Ho-ho
24:53Very close to the end
24:54They've caught up, they're so good
24:56Now, who have we got now?
24:57Okay, our third team's from Gloucestershire and Berkshire
25:01Their father and daughter, Gordon Farmer and Libby Grayson
25:05Right
25:13And how are you?
25:14Very well indeed
25:15Thank you for being here
25:16Now you are?
25:17Libby Grayson

25:20I thought he was coming back
25:21Go on then
25:22What do you do, Libby?
25:23I'm a P.E. teacher
25:24A P.E. teacher?
25:25Mm-hmm
25:26Oh, physical training and all that
25:27Oh, lovely that
25:28And you're married to Mark
25:29What does he do?
25:30He's a P.E. teacher
25:31Oh, is he really?
25:32Yes
25:33Oh, so what did you have on your honeymoon?
25:35Was it a bed or a trampoline?
25:37I'd have liked to have seen that
25:39Didn't you, Daphne?
25:41Oh, she's gone to sleep
25:42Never mind, right
25:43Now, tell us about the honeymoon then
25:45Well, we were coming back off safari and...
25:47Oh, safari?
25:48Yes
25:49Oh gosh, how lovely
25:51Safari, oh God, yes
25:53And we stopped off at this service station
25:55and there it was, staring me in the face
25:57this most marvellous bar of chocolate
25:59Oh
26:00Oh, so I thought, I've got to have that
26:02And when you're away like that, you do
26:03Absolutely
26:04You see something like...
26:05Honestly, you go
26:06I bought this bar of chocolate
26:07Yes, yes
26:08And there I was
26:09Oh, taking the wrapper off
26:11Oh, like the ad
26:12Yeah
26:13Yes
26:14And then, ba-boom
26:15Ba-boom
26:16What?
26:17This huge, great baboon
26:19No
26:20Had the chocolate
26:21He stole my chocolate
26:22No
26:23He did
26:24But, fancy being mugged by a baboon
26:28You see, you can't go anywhere
26:29You cannot go anywhere, Nina
26:31That's terrible
26:32But, I mean, are you sure it was a baboon?
26:33A big one, yes
26:34Oh, yeah
26:35Because there's always a bit of monkey business on honeymoon
26:39Over now to your farmer, Gordon father

27:27I don't want to make the 9 o'clock news late
27:30You love old time musicals
27:32Oh, so do I
27:33Yes
27:34Have you done some of that at all?
27:35We do it in our village
27:36Oh, good
27:37For charity for the church
27:38Oh, how lovely
27:39Only that appearance
27:40That's good
27:41Oh, and you'd like to introduce Rosemary in that style?
27:44Yes
27:45A big intro
27:46Right
27:47Which camera?
27:48Which camera?
27:49Oh, I see
27:53Anyone you like
27:55You're a superstar

27:57I was going to tell you, but never mind
27:59Into camera 5, away you go
28:01Ladies and gentlemen
28:03Now for a diversion of distinguishment
28:05Danced by a damsel of dazzling dexterity
28:09From the boulevards of
28:11Dare my lips frame the words
28:13From the boulevards of Sheppens Bush
28:16City of light
28:17We bring you that treasure
28:19Of the Terpsichorean tantalisation
28:22To dance for you
28:23A consummate conjunction of classicism
28:27Ladies and gentlemen
28:28Miss Rosemary Ford and
28:30The Can-Cans
28:32Oh, my God
28:46Wasn't that marvellous?
28:48Thank you, Gordon
28:50That was very lovely
28:52Trouble is, she'll expect that every week now
28:54I won't have time to do any jokes myself
28:57Have you got a day job?
28:58Are you in a Chinese restaurant?
29:01Away you go
29:02Who have we got left?
29:03Pray tell me
29:04Our fourth team
29:05From Cambridgeshire
29:06Their father-in-law and daughter-in-law
29:08Kenny and Emma Diaper
29:19Welcome, welcome
29:20Welcome, welcome
29:21Yes, you are Emma...
29:22Diaper
29:23Diaper, that's it
29:24Diaper
29:25Don't worry, I'll try to pamper you
29:30All right, now you're married to Paul
29:32I am
29:33How did you meet him?
29:34Well, I met him at a party at the hospital social club
29:36Oh, really? Yes, yes
29:37Now, we both went along
29:38Yes
29:39Not together
29:40No
29:41And there were some party games on
29:42Yes
29:43And we were both pulled out to play this game
29:45Now, he had to sit on a chair on top of a foot pump
29:48He sat on a chair?
29:49On top of a foot pump
29:51On top of a foot pump
29:52The end of the foot pump
29:53Yes
29:54Was a balloon
29:55A balloon?
29:56Now, I had to sit on his knees, astride him
29:58Oh, really?
29:59Yes, and I'd go up and down like this
30:01Oh, I see
30:02We've been together ever since
30:03Yes
30:06So, I think after that you had to get married
30:10Let's try that next Christmas
30:12Any dislikes have you got, my dear?
30:14Yes, sharts
30:15Sharts?
30:16I hate sharts, yes
30:17Oh, really?
30:18I saw the film Jaws
30:19Oh
30:20And I must have been about eight
30:21And it absolutely petrified me
30:22Did it really?
30:23Yes, I became hydrophobic
30:24Oh, hydrophobic
30:25When I was in the bath
30:26I used to sit in the bath with my hand over the plug hole
30:28Yeah, I was convinced
30:29Jaws just couldn't come up like that
30:31Oh, it was a child
30:32Yeah
30:33Well, it did frighten people
30:34I mean, it never frightened me, you see
30:35Never frightened me, look at that
30:39In fact, I was going to be in Jaws 5
30:42I was going to be called Jaws Bites Back
30:45All right, over now to your father-in-law
30:47Father-in-law
30:48Father-in-law, Ken
30:49What do you do?
30:50I'm a Chief Custodian at University Music School in Cambridge
30:52What was that?
30:54I'm the Chief Custodian
30:56Chief Custodian?
30:57At University Music School in Cambridge
30:59Oh, my goodness
31:00Yes, that sounds very important
31:01It does
31:02You're married to Jean Marlene
31:03That's correct
31:04Or two wives, congratulations
31:07You're the first bigamist we've had on the show
31:09Well done
31:10Which one did you marry first?
31:12Your crafty custodian
31:14Also, it's Jean
31:15Sorry, it's Jean Marlene Diaper
31:17Sorry, sorry
31:19So, what does Jean Marlene Diaper do?
31:21That was difficult to explain
31:22She's a bed and breakfast landlady
31:24A bed and breakfast landlady?
31:26That's right
31:27Well, I can see the sign now
31:28Stay at diapers and sleep like a baby
31:32The change will do you good
31:37You like horse racing?
31:38I love it
31:39Oh, you do?
31:40Oh, except one
31:41Oh, yes, well, we had a bad turn
31:43A bad turn?
31:44We did
31:45Well, I took my two eldest sons racing
31:47and I backed the forecast
31:49Oh, you backed a forecast
31:51Yes, yes
31:52This had gone through the post
31:54So we thought we were on to a winner
31:56But unfortunately, so we nipped back to my two sons
31:59to have a drink and wait for the total to pay out
32:02To pay out?
32:03When there was a stewards' inquiry
32:05Stewards' inquiry?
32:06Yeah, the jockey forgot the way in
32:08So, yeah, ditched the tickets
32:10You threw the ticket away?
32:11Yeah, yeah
32:12And then we, all of a sudden, all off
32:15All off?
32:16I'm £300, looking for me forecast tickets
32:19You're joking
32:20And we scraped my back
32:21And you're trying to find a ticket
32:23I pronounced them as a £100,000 ticket
32:25trying to find the tickets
32:27Did you find them?
32:28No
32:30What a lousy story
32:33I mean, I'm listening to all that
32:34and I thought it was going to be a happy ending
32:36Oh, thank you
32:37Should we have a collection for it?
32:39Yeah, what a chance out of this lot, I'll tell you that
32:42Any other special talents?
32:43It's hard to waste my time
32:45Yeah, we tried
32:47Yes
32:48Sing like a nightingale and play the spoons
32:50You play the...
32:51Badly
32:52Play the spoons
32:53Badly
32:54Did you bring them with you?
32:55No
32:56Good
32:57I hate the spoons, I really do
32:59Wait a minute, you said you were the chief custodian
33:02of the Cambridge University Music School
33:05That's correct
33:06And you play the spoons
33:08Cut out an old pair of spoons
33:10When do these people get the job?
33:12What do you mean, what about me?
33:15Anyway, thank you very much for telling us about yourselves
33:18I know we're going to have a lot of fun with you
33:19Hop over there, we've got a game coming up
33:22Welcome
33:23Yes
33:26Our third game is called Well, I'll Be Blown
33:29Please welcome, from Banners and Balloons, Cheltenham
33:33Rod Sutton
33:35Here they are
33:39How are you?
33:40All right, good
33:42Well now, thanks for coming back again
33:44Now, when you were last here, the place was just sort of
33:47taking off, wasn't it?
33:48Yeah
33:49You didn't quite know how it was all going to go
33:51but it's progressed very well
33:52We've got a shopping chart now, which is going OK
33:54It's on the up and up
33:55Jolly good, come over here
33:57OK, and all of you pop over here with me
33:59and I want you to get in a kind of a diagonal line there
34:03There we are, there we are
34:04Stay in your couples, because then we know who you are
34:06and where you are
34:07So it's very important you see, OK?
34:09OK
34:10Now, to release the gas out of the cylinders
34:13just push down on the regulator
34:14See, very easy, see
34:15Just a little push like that
34:17What we've got here
34:18We've got a large balloon with a small balloon inside it
34:21OK, first of all, we're going to blow up the large balloon
34:24Now, we didn't make this clear the last time
34:26as clear as I'd like to
34:27The way we do this
34:28See, see what he's doing there?
34:29Push the balloon to the side
34:30So this is for the big balloon to go up
34:32Push it down
34:36Up goes the balloon
34:37Now, this is the...
34:39Now we get to the good side
34:40Put the regulator over the small balloon
34:43You get the small balloon in
34:44and then the small balloon goes there
34:47Now then, watch this
34:50Just tie a knot
34:51and then plonk it in
34:53and it stays there
34:54Now, put another one in
34:57You see?
34:58You see how he did that?
34:59OK, it blows that one up
35:02and away he goes
35:03But now you know the principle of the whole thing
35:05As I say, we didn't make this
35:07or I didn't make it as clear to the people
35:09So we didn't give them so much of a chance
35:11But it's such a fascinating thing to see, isn't it?
35:14Look at that Gordon
35:15We can't wait to have a go at this
35:18All right
35:20And the last one
35:21You see, they just pop in
35:22Isn't it lovely the way the one balloon
35:24lodges in there
35:25and stops the...
35:27There's four already
35:28My goodness
35:29And the fourth balloon
35:30Fourth balloon
35:31Ah, now watch this
35:32Take hold of the neck
35:34and push the other one in
35:35That's it
35:37Take the length of the ribbon
35:41Put the ribbon on the neck of the balloon
35:43There we are
35:44It's just tight
35:46And there you are
35:47Happy birthday
35:49How about it?
35:50Isn't that good?
35:52Thank you very much
35:53OK, see you later on for some marketing
35:55Get to your cylinders
35:57Get to your cylinders
35:58This couple here
35:59I think you're with the other one
36:00You're over here, my darling
36:01Get to your cylinder
36:02The far one there
36:03Good
36:04Now you've got some spares there
36:05So you have to start again
36:07You've already got your little one inside the big one
36:09OK
36:10So here we go
36:11You've got about a minute
36:12and a bit
36:13starting from now
36:15to get four balloons inside the large balloon

53:04So what do you think?
53:06Well, now
53:08Brenda and Gary
53:10Brenda's arms were pretty great
53:12They were slightly windmill-like at times
53:14But I thought they were pretty great
53:16She hopped occasionally and didn't jump
53:18But it was a very graceful hop
53:20And Gary was a sort of
53:22Danseur noble
53:24Oh, very suave, yes
53:26He was wonderful, and when Brenda got
53:28You know, with that little bit of thing
53:30There, that bit of wind
53:32Up her skirt, he was a great gentleman
53:34And he covered her modesty rather well
53:36Oh, well that's very nice
53:38And now, Kenny nearly
53:40Lost his charge at one point
53:42Yes
53:44He dropped his chiffon, but he was still
53:46Very noble with it
53:48And Emma skimmed trustingly
53:50Very brave
53:52She was in the fan, wasn't she?
53:54And the lovely smile
53:56The smile kept going even when she lost the chiffon
53:58Yes, and there was a lot of
54:00Youthful elan about it
54:02It's difficult, this task
54:04It is, I know what you mean
54:06Do I have to do it?
54:08Yes, you do, you have to make the choice, that's the only thing
54:10Well, I think that these two

54:1419
54:16There was something in Brenda's eye
