00:00All right, Cy Young Award in the American League.
00:03Let's start off there, where Tariq Skubal is the favorite.
00:06He's had a great year.
00:07He's 2-1.
00:08Freed is 5-1.
00:10Hunter Brown.
00:11Look, I mean, Jacob deGrom, George and I, look like we could.
00:14I mean, look, it's still early.
00:15We could be both wrong on him.
00:17I mean, we were like crapping all over him in the early part of the season.
00:20He's been really good.
00:22Yvaldi's numbers are probably better than everybody outside of Skubal.
00:27It's just no fun to take a Cy Young in May at 2-1.
00:30So who else he got?
00:32Yeah, as I already said earlier on the show, I don't think Freed will make 32 stars,
00:36so I can knock him out here.
00:40DeGrom, Yvaldi, same problem.
00:42And the Rangers aren't scoring runs for these guys.
00:44They're losing wins.
00:45I know they don't look at wins as much anymore, but I think, once again, that could hurt.
00:49It won't be Bubik.
00:50It won't be Rodon.
00:51Probably not Lopez either.
00:53Are they going to give it to Skubal, back-to-back years?
00:57I mean, even Hunter Brown at 6-1, I'm kind of interested in.
01:01DeGrom, if he could make 27, 26 starts, I think he would get a lot of love for the storyline of being the Cy Young again.
01:10I don't think he would here.
01:11I would probably look at Hunter Brown at 6-1, but in the end, I do expect it to be Skubal again.
01:16National League Cy Young Award odds.
01:18We have Paul Skeens as the favorite at plus 240.
01:22Yamamoto is now taking a hit with the injury.
01:24Zach Wheeler always lurking for a Cy Young.
01:27Probably my guess is that it's between health for Skeens and Wheeler,
01:34but I also don't want to sleep on Jesus Lozardo, George, because, I mean, he's 16-1 because he's never been able –
01:42actually, there was one season where he finished the whole season healthy.
01:45But, George, if Jesus Lozardo pitches like this the entire season, he is going to be the NL Cy Young.
01:53But I guess they're just baking in the idea that if you look at Lozardo's six-, seven-year career,
02:00he's only had one season where he's made 30 starts, I believe.
02:04Yeah, I'm going to have a hard time saying it's going to be Lozardo over Wheeler just for his own team.
02:10You know, and Wheeler's having a great season as well.
02:12Wheeler never gets the love, by the way.
02:14I can't believe this guy hasn't won a Cy Young yet.
02:162.42 ERA, 0.88 whip for – I mean, Wheeler's just fantastic.
02:21So, I'm going to – it's going to be a very hard time for me to say he's going to get a –
02:25Lozardo's going to get it over Wheeler here.
02:27And, by the way, Wheeler's throwing 19.2 scoreless innings right now.
02:30All right, so he's just another – it's just fantastic here.
02:35Skeens gets all the pub, but once again, the wins can be an issue.
02:37Could this be Yamamoto, who's also – the only guy who's healthy for the Dodgers.
02:42I'd like to say Wheeler, but he just never seems to get it.
02:45I think it could be Yamamoto this year.
02:46The Dodgers keep having all these injuries to their pitchers, and he can't stay healthy here.
02:49But I also wonder about him.
02:51You know, can he make 32 starts?
02:53And I also want to listen to the Dodgers, Craig.
02:55Could they play the game?
02:56But even if he is healthy, could they play the game late July, August?
02:59No, your shoulder's bothering you.
03:01Go take three weeks off.
03:02You know, get ready for October.
03:04So I think they might do that as well.
03:06Now, the American League Rookie of the Year is a minus, so I'm going to go against my own theory here.
03:12And I would say don't ever take something like this because there's a long way to go.
03:17But I don't know.
03:18I think George illustrated it earlier.
03:19I think Jacob Wilson's got a great shot to win Rookie of the Year.
03:23If Dominguez was, you know, didn't have pinstripes and was wearing a Royals jersey, he'd be like 20 to 1.
03:29So I think Wilson may be the Rookie of the Year, George.
03:32I don't think that I would bet anybody else here.
03:35I don't think it's all that close right now.
03:37I think it's Wilson pretty easy.
03:39You're probably going to need an injury or a performance to really just, you know, just fall at the table here.
03:43My namesake, Nick Kurtz, he's starting to hit home runs now.
03:48You know, if he's getting more and more comfortable in a major baseball player and he could end up hitting 25 by season.
03:57Listen, I'm just saying, throwing stuff out there.
03:58If he hit 25 by season with a good average here, maybe he can make enough inroads because he had more pub coming in, right?
04:04Top prospect than Wilson.
04:07You know, so if Wilson can come down and Nick can really go up here, maybe.
04:11But I'm not so sure I see that either.
04:12I think right now it's a runaway for Wilson.
04:15I wonder if he's a Weird Al Yankovic fan.
04:18Have to find out.
04:20National League Rookie of the Year.
04:22We got a minute.
04:23National League Rookie of the Year.
04:26Augustine Ramirez is my pick at 5-1.
04:28I'm biased heavily.
04:30Look out for the name beyond him.
04:33Circle it.
04:33Logan Henderson.
04:34No pitcher.
04:36That's been a rookie.
04:37He's been better than him over the last two weeks.
04:39This is wide open, George.
04:41But Baldwin will split time at catcher.
04:44I'm going to take Augustine Ramirez.
04:47I don't think it'll be Ramirez.
04:49That would be a shock.
04:49I agree with what you said about Baldwin playing with Murphy.
04:52Logan Henderson is a guy.
04:54I wanted to get him in fantasy leagues and I couldn't get him.
04:56I'm going to go with Smith-Shoyer.
04:58If he can keep it up playing for the Braves.
04:59They'll be better now that Acuna's back here.
05:01I'll get him some wins there.
05:02But this is wide open.
