Celtic vs Aberdeen Scottish Cup final prediction as Hoops eye a Treble
Transcript
00:00Just on Celtic then, Ben, obviously, two trophies already in the bag.
00:04Progress in the Champions League this year.
00:07Brendan Rodgers dies and made us scooping awards left, right, centre.
00:12They go into this game, domestic treble on the line.
00:14It would be a record-breaking ninth.
00:17No British team has ever achieved such a feat if they were able to do it this weekend.
00:24Just kind of sum up how big an occasion this will be,
00:29given that Brendan Rodgers has just become Celtic's most successful manager in history.
00:36Yeah, it's a big weekend for them just to sort of rubber-stamp their dominance.
00:41Really, I think it says a lot about where Celtic are right now
00:44that it almost doesn't feel as much of an achievement as it actually is
00:48to go and win the amount of trophies they have.
00:50I know they've obviously got sums of money that even Rangers are struggling to compete with now,
00:55never mind the likes of Aberdeen and, you know, further below that
00:59as we've sort of tumbled down the Premiership pyramid.
01:01But it's still a huge regime.
01:04You still need to have the right mentality.
01:06So when you get to these games, you know what's required.
01:10Brendan Rodgers' record at Hamden is ridiculous.
01:14I think that's half the reason why you almost just expect the inevitable,
01:18because Brendan Rodgers does not lose at Hamden.
01:20That's just the thing that they enjoy playing there.
01:24I've said before, I think the Hamden pitch plays to their strengths.
01:28The pitch is huge.
01:30So for teams wanting to sit and count an attack,
01:33it's so much harder to do that because there's so much more ground to cover.
01:36So the holes, Celtic can just find them so much easier.
01:39I do think Rio Atati's a big miss.
01:42I don't think Paolo Bernardo did enough at the weekend against Mirren
01:46to show that he can be certainly a replacement for this game.
01:51I would imagine maybe Luke McEwen maybe could potentially come in.
01:55James Forrest as well.
01:57I know obviously there was a lot of fanfare about his, you know,
01:5916th consecutive season goal,
02:01but I think he's looked better than Nicolas Coon in the last six weeks as well.
02:05So I think you could see him starting.
02:07So there's definitely, there's decisions to be made in the team.
02:11I don't think it's a shoo-in who starts quite yet,
02:14but you would expect Celtic to win.
02:17And if Celtic turn up and the Aberdeen we've kind of came to know
02:20post-November, December time show up,
02:22then I would expect Celtic to win comfortably.
