00:00:29Could you just let us for a minute talk?
00:00:30Just for a minute?
00:00:31This is very hot.
00:00:32Jason, just tell me, what can I do?
00:00:33Stop getting in the middle.
00:00:34I'm not in the middle.
00:00:35I'm just trying to come in.
00:00:36Well, why are you here?
00:00:37Because Melissa is upset.
00:00:38I come home and she questions me about being committed?
00:00:39I'm arguing with you.
00:00:40You left, Jason.
00:00:41I'm going crazy.
00:00:42You left.
00:00:43She didn't leave.
00:00:44You left, Jason.
00:00:45She's rough.
00:00:46A very entertaining Joan Riverwood.
00:00:47I'm going crazy.

00:00:53I'm going crazy.
00:00:54I'm going crazy.
00:00:55I'm going crazy.
00:00:56Welcome Joan Riverwood.
00:01:10Hi Joan, looking gorgeous.
00:01:12There she is everybody.
00:01:17So, you look great.
00:01:20Well, considering.
00:01:21Now, did your daughter leave him or did they split?
00:01:25It's totally over, and it's all on the show.
00:01:27He looks nice.
00:01:28He was, everybody's nice, you know,
00:01:30and then you get un-nice.
00:01:31And then they're not nice.
00:01:32Well, I shut my mouth, I'm a good mother.
00:01:35But you had, but he had,
00:01:37you could hate some of those bad.
00:01:38You did not shut your mouth,
00:01:39you were out there on the tennis court.
00:01:40Trying to make them get back together.
00:01:43And it didn't work.
00:01:44Didn't work, well, it's all right,
00:01:45she's on to somebody else, thank God.
00:01:46Oh, thank God.
00:01:47Oh, it's hard.
00:01:50Now is the new one on the show?
00:01:52No, not next season.
00:01:53Not yet.
00:01:54No, because this was taped,
00:01:55it's nine o'clock, by the way,
00:01:57on Tuesday nights, just let everybody know.
00:01:58Okay, where, where?
00:02:01We.
00:02:01Okay.
00:02:02We, I'm on We, I'm on E, and I'm on QVC.
00:02:05Ew.
00:02:06That was on.
00:02:07On the Martha Show.
00:02:08Oh, not on you.
00:02:11I didn't know the alphabet, I'd be out of work.
00:02:13But Melissa, a lot of it, you know,
00:02:15with your daughter, it's generational.
00:02:17They all think they know everything.
00:02:19And they do, they do.
00:02:20Well, yeah, like they had the morning after pill,
00:02:22big deal, we had the same thing.
00:02:24It was called throw yourself down the stairs.
00:02:26I mean, and a lot of stuff.
00:02:29Facebook, we had the same thing,
00:02:31we called it talking to each other.
00:02:33I mean, there was no, there's no difference.
00:02:35Like we had a telephone.
00:02:36We had a, remember the telephone?
00:02:38Yeah, I do hear it ring every now and then.
00:02:40Yeah, I remember in the old days,
00:02:42Melissa was always on,
00:02:43maybe the daughters were always on the phone.
00:02:45She's in the room, and the old, who's she?
00:02:47You know, all that kind of stuff.
00:02:49Oh my gosh.
00:02:50It was different with my mother and me, you know.
00:02:52Really?
00:02:53She, she went into labor, she put on pantyhose.
00:02:57It was just, it was terrible, terrible.
00:03:03So, was your mother around
00:03:05when you got divorced the first time?
00:03:07Yes.
00:03:08She was?
00:03:08And they were wonderful.
00:03:10When I got divorced, my father walked in
00:03:13and he said, leave everything, just come.
00:03:16That's very good.
00:03:17Oh, so they were nice.
00:03:18They were great.
00:03:19My mother said, you're such a fool.
00:03:20Yeah, well, well they, well, yes.
00:03:23She wasn't on my side.
00:03:24She liked him.
00:03:25Yeah, she wasn't on my side.
00:03:25Did you keep the ring?
00:03:27What ring?
00:03:28Well then, you know, then you weren't a fool.
00:03:31Nope.
00:03:32If there's a ring, you stay,
00:03:34and if you leave, you swallow the ring.
00:03:35You give them back everything else.
00:03:38No man will look through poo for a dime.
00:03:40I mean, it's just, swallow the ring.
00:03:42So Joan actually gets, Joan actually gets down
00:03:46and dirty on the show.
00:03:48She walks on the wild side.
00:03:50Yes.
00:03:51You smoked marijuana on TV.
00:03:53Medicinal.
00:03:54Medicinal.
00:03:55Oh, medicinal.
00:03:55You know, Martha.
00:03:56Do you have a prescription for marijuana?
00:03:58Yes.
00:03:59For what?
00:03:59Yes, nerves.
00:04:00For what?
00:04:01Nerves?
00:04:04Oh, come on.
00:04:05We had a very nervous episode.
00:04:08Yes.
00:04:09And they said to me, relax.
00:04:11And they took me to California.
00:04:13And where's the tattoo that you got?
00:04:15I got a tattoo.
00:04:15Where?
00:04:16Yeah, I don't, well, it's on my breast,
00:04:18so look at my ankle and you'll see.
00:04:22You really, you really defiled your body with a tattoo?
00:04:28Defiled my body with a tattoo.
00:04:31It's a defile, it's defile.
00:04:33But people have tattoos, you know, on the red carpet.
00:04:35I'm not, I haven't even been tempted to get a tattoo.
00:04:38No, but then you see them,
00:04:39but you're not out in California.
00:04:41They all walk past you on the red carpet.
00:04:43Angelina Jolie.
00:04:44Well, she's tattooed all over.
00:04:45All over, she has those kids' pictures,
00:04:47wherever you look.
00:04:48Yeah.
00:04:49She's like a walking milk carton.
00:04:51I mean, it's just.
00:04:52Yeah.
00:04:55Some milk carton, some fabulous milk carton.
00:04:59Out there, and again, Kelly Osbourne, who I work with.
00:05:02Kelly, it's, again, I think it's generational.
00:05:04She's tattooed all over the place.
00:05:06Well, I'm gonna show you how to make
00:05:08a very beautiful thing today.
00:05:09Yes, yes, I'm so excited.
00:05:11We're gonna get off the tattoos and the marijuana,
00:05:13and we're gonna make this very beautiful heart art craft.
00:05:17I think that is so beautiful.
00:05:19It is beautiful.
00:05:20It will go in your house, too.
00:05:21Yes.
00:05:22Joan lives in a palace.
00:05:24You do.
00:05:25I live with.
00:05:26You have a very beautiful house.
00:05:27Marie Antoinette, if she had had money,
00:05:29would have lived like I live.
00:05:30That's.
00:05:33Yes, indeed.
00:05:35So, wouldn't it be pretty in your.
00:05:36It's beautiful.
00:05:37Yes, and so, we're gonna show you how to make this now.
00:05:40Have you used a hammer and nails?
00:05:42You forget.
00:05:43I was on your first season.
00:05:44We made macrame galoshes.
00:05:46I am so used.
00:05:50She is very handy, okay?
00:05:53So, to make this, okay, you have to get a plaque.
00:05:56Okay.
00:05:57Okay, so we got these plaques
00:05:58from a place called walnuthollow.com,
00:06:01and they're inexpensive, and they're very nice,
00:06:03and we have a template like this.
00:06:05Where do we get the template?
00:06:07MarthaStewart.com.
00:06:08That's why I was asking you.
00:06:10Yes, and we're gonna tape the template onto the plaque.
00:06:14Center it, center it, and tape it so that it stays put.
00:06:19Okay, so I'm leaving like a quarter of an inch at the top.
00:06:22Okay.
00:06:22And you can just use masking tape.
00:06:25Oh, you can use the blue.
00:06:26It matches your nails.
00:06:27Oh, yes, I know.
00:06:27Where'd you get those nails?
00:06:28It's called desperate.
00:06:30It's just, because the guys I go out with
00:06:32have so much glaucoma, glaucoma,
00:06:35that at least they can see that, you know?
00:06:40One of our questions was,
00:06:41who do you, what's your date,
00:06:43who's your date for Valentine's Day?
00:06:45My date for Valentine's Day.
00:06:49I went out with one guy the other night.
00:06:51Oh, sir.
00:06:52At the table, I'm not making a lie,
00:06:54he had to pee four times,
00:06:57and he never left the table.
00:07:06So you're not into the younger generations?
00:07:09Oh, God, no.
00:07:10Are you?
00:07:11Yes.
00:07:13I don't wanna wake up and say,
00:07:14is this my date or did I give birth last night?
00:07:19So have you tapered down?
00:07:20Yeah, this looks good.
00:07:21Yes, all tapered, beautiful.
00:07:22Not tapered, taped.
00:07:23Taped, whatever.
00:07:26We don't want tapering.
00:07:28Okay, so now take your awl,
00:07:29this is an awl, ice pick.
00:07:31Yeah, okay.
00:07:32Remember that movie with the ice pick?
00:07:33Do I remember that movie?
00:07:35Go on.
00:07:39Okay, so now you just make a little,
00:07:41in the center of each of the little black,
00:07:43you just press, and this makes the tack,
00:07:46the little brad that we're using,
00:07:48go in easier.
00:07:49And the wood is very soft, don't you think?
00:07:50Yeah, whatever.
00:07:51Don't miss the dot, go right on the dot.
00:07:55I'm not gonna argue with you, it's your show.
00:07:58Okay.
00:07:59You say the wood is soft, the wood is soft.
00:08:04If it isn't, you can tell me.
00:08:06I'm not gonna tell you,
00:08:07we went to the same college, you're smarter than I am.
00:08:10We went to the same college.
00:08:11We did, oh.
00:08:12I was a little ahead of her.
00:08:13You were.
00:08:15And Betty White was ahead of both of us, thank God.
00:08:18I know.
00:08:22Illustrious graduates from our college.
00:08:25Yes.
00:08:25This is Barnard College, by the way, in New York City.
00:08:28I think it's just the two of us,
00:08:29I think all the rest were sluts.
00:08:34It was an all-girls school.
00:08:36Oh, yes.
00:08:37And you and I, we're the best they could do.
00:08:38It's still an all-girls school.
00:08:39I know, isn't that stupid?
00:08:41Yeah.
00:08:43Okay, so poke a few holes.
00:08:45Okay.
00:08:46Here, this is the clever thing.
00:08:49Now, we have to get these little brads
00:08:51hammered into each of these holes.
00:08:54Done.
00:08:55But you have to hold it with this,
00:08:55just this is taped, you see how the tape is on here?
00:08:58Yeah, yeah.
00:08:59Just to hold it, and then you hammer
00:09:01the head of the brad down, just, oops.
00:09:04Just far enough.
00:09:05Okay, okay.
00:09:06I made you keep a hold.
00:09:07I got it.
00:09:08Okay.
00:09:09And then you have to go all the way around
00:09:11and insert the nails.
00:09:13Okay, I'm not trying to be funny.
00:09:16You don't have to open it,
00:09:17you just stick the little brad right here.
00:09:20Oh, I see.
00:09:21And it's just gonna hold it in the hole
00:09:23so that it's secure.
00:09:27Right like that, see?
00:09:28I see, and I'm sure it's very easy.
00:09:33Mine seems to have a, oh.
00:09:35Can I have my staff do this?
00:09:37No.
00:09:39No, you may not.
00:09:40Wouldn't that be great if you bring your staff,
00:09:42staff, do this.
00:09:44Yeah, this is good.
00:09:45I can do this, Mom.
00:09:46So you get all the nails all the way around.
00:09:48Oh, it's gonna be beautiful.
00:09:49It's worth this.
00:09:50It's definitely worth it.
00:09:52There.
00:09:52Valentine's Day, Melissa and I give each other
00:09:54practical gifts.
00:09:56Like what?
00:09:56Well, it's hard, you know, you try to pretend it's nice.
00:09:58Well, now why are you giving a gift to Melissa?
00:10:00Because she's my daughter and I love her,
00:10:02and she always gives me things
00:10:03that she thinks I need, suppositories, you know.
00:10:05It's like.
00:10:09Because I have, there we go, there.
00:10:10It's supposed to only be giving it to, you know.
00:10:13Well, I love her.
00:10:14Men, men, you know, why give me.
00:10:16Men.
00:10:17Why give, I send every man I like something.
00:10:20So, all right, so are there a lot of men you like?
00:10:23Yeah.
00:10:25I send them all something.
00:10:27Well, you were a model.
00:10:29Okay, so now, get the idea, okay?
00:10:31So those are the little brads.
00:10:32Now, this one is what it looks like
00:10:34when you get them all in, these nice golden brads,
00:10:37which are really brass.
00:10:38But now we've, we glue the first part
00:10:41of this pretty, this is from Tinsel Trading,
00:10:44this beautiful, beautiful ribbon.
00:10:47And now, this is a little tiny bit tricky,
00:10:49but not that tricky.
00:10:51So you go around the right side,
00:10:53your right side of the nail.
00:10:55Oh, all right.
00:10:56And then you go up to the top.
00:10:58Okay.
00:10:59Go to the right side.
00:11:00Okay.
00:11:01And then bring it around.
00:11:02It's like weaving a little bit.
00:11:03Yeah, okay, it's very pretty.
00:11:05Don't catch it on the other.
00:11:06You should start this the day after.
00:11:07To the right side.
00:11:08It's the last Valentine's Day for me.
00:11:12You do that.
00:11:13Okay, all year long, I can do this.
00:11:14Okay, so just keep pulling it tautly.
00:11:15Yeah.
00:11:16See?
00:11:17Yeah, all right.
00:11:18There we go.
00:11:18You go around.
00:11:19Yeah.
00:11:20There we go.
00:11:21And always stay on the right-hand side,
00:11:22because then it gives that nice woven effect.
00:11:24This is very pretty.
00:11:25When you get down to the bottom.
00:11:27Isn't it beautiful?
00:11:28Yes.
00:11:29No, I just think it's one of the most exquisite craft ideas.
00:11:33I was thinking of doing, like,
00:11:34Venus de Milo health bracelets.
00:11:39What would that look like?
00:11:42You'd have to hold it in your mouth.
00:11:43I love crafts.
00:11:46I think it's very relaxing.
00:11:48Oh, the crafting is, oh, it is relaxing.
00:11:50And then it's pretty, and you made it,
00:11:51so people are very happy that you made it.
00:11:54Yes, they are, usually.
00:11:56Usually.
00:11:56Unless it's a mess.
00:11:57Yeah, I'm still back on you with the men.
00:12:00The only man that really ever, ever loved me was Edgar.
00:12:04When he met me for the first time,
00:12:05our eyes locked, he came over,
00:12:07he said, I've got to dance with you, and we danced.
00:12:10We mumbled and tangoed.
00:12:12Where, at El Morroco?
00:12:13No, traffic court.
00:12:20Is that where you met him?
00:12:21That's where I met him.
00:12:22In traffic court.
00:12:23In traffic court.
00:12:25Because I wanted to be a good citizen,
00:12:27not only did I stop at red lights,
00:12:29I used to stop at green, so they gave me, there we go.
00:12:34Look, I did half my heart.
00:12:36Listen, you got it.
00:12:37I'm telling you.
00:12:37She's doing a very fine job.
00:12:39Yes, I am.
00:12:40I'm very happy.
00:12:41We're gonna finish our, this is called Heart Strings.
00:12:45It's beautiful, look at that.
00:12:46Isn't it beautiful?
00:12:46You did a great job.
00:12:47Yeah, how about that?
00:12:49Yes, and you know, tug at your heart strings,
00:12:53you can play your heart strings, whatever you want.
00:12:55It's just so nice, so sentimental.
00:12:58Are you a sentimental person?
00:12:59Yes, I am.
00:13:00Are you?
00:13:01Especially my grandson.
00:13:02Yeah.
00:13:03Like with your granddaughter, I'm sure.
00:13:04Oh, yeah.
00:13:05So great, right?
00:13:06She's how old now?
00:13:0610 months.
00:13:07So are they asking the stupid questions
00:13:09like, so how's your granddaughter?
00:13:12You want to say, dry.
00:13:12I mean, it's 10 months old.
00:13:15Cooper, they always say, how's Cooper?
00:13:17And he's gonna be 11, and you know,
00:13:19you want to say things like,
00:13:20the divorce went through, thank God,
00:13:22but that bitch took all the crayons,
00:13:24she took the Legos.
00:13:26I mean, it's so dumb.
00:13:30He's fine.
00:13:30Do we have to make an arrow?
00:13:31Yes, I'm so excited.
00:13:32To pierce our heart strings.
00:13:34Okay, so you just use a bamboo skewer.
00:13:37Yes.
00:13:38A little cut out of cardboard
00:13:40for the point of the heart.
00:13:42And you can also just affix some gold ribbon,
00:13:46the same gold, and fray the edges
00:13:49so that it looks like a nice feathered feather.
00:13:51Now what are we doing?
00:13:52So paint, you just paint the,
00:13:53this is Martha Stewart crafts paint.
00:13:55Now we have these beautiful metallics
00:13:57and sparkles and glitter paints.
00:14:00Really beautiful.
00:14:01So paint the arrow itself, the shaft of the arrow.
00:14:06Do you have to hold it till it dries?
00:14:08No, no, you just lay it down.
00:14:10Okay.
00:14:11Don't worry.
00:14:12Yeah.
00:14:12We don't, we're not going to need to.
00:14:16Yeah, it dries very quickly, actually.
00:14:18But it's a really beautiful golden color.
00:14:20It's a gorgeous gold.
00:14:21Yep, and paint both sides of the tip of the arrow.
00:14:24So it looks like gold leafing.
00:14:25Yeah, it does, it does.
00:14:27And once that's all done and dry,
00:14:28oh, and we have this wonderful gel cleaner
00:14:30for the brush, too.
00:14:32So you can use your brush over again.
00:14:35Because I paint.
00:14:35Can I use that in my regular paint?
00:14:37Yes.
00:14:37Can I have it?
00:14:39You can have it, sure.
00:14:41But you should actually look at our craft paints.
00:14:45And then, so the arrow's done,
00:14:47and we're going to draw the arrow through the heart string.
00:14:49So you can just leave that.
00:14:50Yes, all right.
00:14:51That's a swap out.
00:14:52Here we go.
00:14:53And just put it wherever you want.
00:14:56I like arrows to go up,
00:14:57but if you want your arrow to go down.
00:14:59Arrow up for good luck.
00:15:00Okay, good luck.
00:15:01Okay.
00:15:02And then just take it through.
00:15:03Wow, good luck.
00:15:05Without tearing.
00:15:06Hold the ribbon a little bit down so that you don't.
00:15:09Yeah, so you kind of weave it through the ribbon, right?
00:15:11Yeah, and lift it.
00:15:12It bends slightly, so it's okay.
00:15:14I could be your assistant.
00:15:15Yeah, see.
00:15:16I could be like your stupid assistant,
00:15:18and your aunt could say,
00:15:19if this moron can do it, so can you.
00:15:22That'd be very nice, wouldn't it?
00:15:25That would be nice.
00:15:27If I can do it, you can do it.
00:15:29Oh, Joan, that is, I would never,
00:15:31I don't even think of you in those terms.
00:15:33Oh, then talk to Melissa.
00:15:34Yeah, best is go underneath.
00:15:37Okay.
00:15:38Just underneath.
00:15:39Oh!
00:15:39And then up.
00:15:40That's why I need you.
00:15:41I know.
00:15:43How's your jewelry coming?
00:15:44My jewelry is coming great.
00:15:45Everything is just, we're in a very good year.
00:15:47That's wonderful.
00:15:48Very good year.
00:15:49And then a little bit of hot glue on here.
00:15:52Yeah, okay.
00:15:53And if you don't know when it's good times,
00:15:55then you're an idiot.
00:15:56Yes.
00:15:57These are good times.
00:15:58Good.
00:15:58Melissa wants me out of the house, but.
00:16:00There.
00:16:01She has me in a room that's so far down.
00:16:03Where?
00:16:04I meet the Chilean miners coming up.
00:16:05It is.
00:16:06In the house, you mean?
00:16:07Yeah, she put me in the downstairs basement room.
00:16:10Oh, she did not.
00:16:11And she calls it the lower level, yeah.
00:16:13Oh, she did not.
00:16:13Surprise.
00:16:15I have to take a canary to get in the room.
00:16:17Oh.
00:16:21So, this is another,
00:16:23we have these wonderful glue applicators.
00:16:26Oh, and you're gonna sprinkle them.
00:16:26And then you can sprinkle the glue
00:16:28with the finest of glitters.
00:16:30Look at this.
00:16:31Oh, I love this.
00:16:33This is stuff I love to do.
00:16:34So, let that dry a little bit.
00:16:35But here, then you have your happy Valentines.
00:16:37That's a template that's on the website.
00:16:39So, a little bit of the hot glue.
00:16:40Be careful.
00:16:41Just on the.
00:16:42On the edge, yeah.
00:16:43Yeah, no, right here on these raised parts.
00:16:44Oh, okay.
00:16:45It makes sense.
00:16:46Yeah.
00:16:47Okay.
00:16:48And then just put that right underneath the heart.
00:16:50If I were Neanderthal,
00:16:51I never would have invented the wheel.
00:16:54It's just.
00:16:55See, look.
00:16:57It's beautiful.
00:16:57It's.
00:16:58Yeah.
00:16:59Holders up.
00:17:00Excuse me.
00:17:02Fabulous.
00:17:03See, isn't that fun?
00:17:04Fabulous.
00:17:12I'm back with very funny Seth Meyers.
00:17:15And now I'm gonna show you how to make
00:17:16a scratch-off Valentine.
00:17:18Scratch-off Valentine.
00:17:19It's unbelievable.
00:17:19Yes, with a message, not a scent.
00:17:21Gotcha.
00:17:22No smell.
00:17:22No smell Valentines.
00:17:23No, no, no, no.
00:17:24Okay, because that's not fun.
00:17:25No.
00:17:26Nothing here is in my household.
00:17:27I'm just gonna jump out.
00:17:28Packing tape?
00:17:29Packing tape, of course, right.
00:17:30I remember exactly where it is, great.
00:17:32Really, do you think so?
00:17:32No, I don't have any of this stuff, but go ahead.
00:17:34Okay, so, and some card stock.
00:17:36Right, card stock.
00:17:37And a.
00:17:38This, we all have these.
00:17:39Heart punch, yes.
00:17:39The heart punch, right?
00:17:40The heart punch.
00:17:41The household heart punch.
00:17:42Yes.
00:17:43Okay, so now, you take your freezer paper,
00:17:46shiny side up.
00:17:47Okay.
00:17:47And you apply straight to the inside of the heart.
00:17:50Okay.
00:17:51And then you're gonna,
00:17:52you're gonna put it in the freezer.
00:17:53Okay.
00:17:54Shiny side up.
00:17:54Okay.
00:17:55And you apply strips of packing tape.
00:17:58Great.
00:17:58Okay, this is gonna make the sticker part
00:18:01of your valentine.
00:18:02Okay, that makes sense.
00:18:03Okay, then.
00:18:04All right.
00:18:05Then you paint this.
00:18:07With.
00:18:08With a mixture of metallic paint.
00:18:10Ooh.
00:18:11And this is craft paint,
00:18:11which you can get at the local craft store.
00:18:13Great.
00:18:14Okay, and oh, it's fantastic paint.
00:18:16Just talk to Jack at my local craft store.
00:18:18That's right.
00:18:18You have some good craft stores in your neighborhood.
00:18:20I do.
00:18:21Yes.
00:18:22So, and oh, by the way,
00:18:23this is mixed with two parts metallic paint
00:18:25and one part liquid dish soap.
00:18:28Okay.
00:18:29Now, how anybody figured out that,
00:18:30I will never know.
00:18:31The Mayans figured it out.
00:18:32Yes.
00:18:35They had liquid gold.
00:18:37Okay, so just make sure you completely cover that tape.
00:18:40Then you cut out those strips,
00:18:41and here we have them already cut out.
00:18:43Okay, great.
00:18:44Now, you want to.
00:18:44This is the part I love about being here.
00:18:46Yes.
00:18:47You do that, and then we've already done it.
00:18:49Yeah.
00:18:50Now, to use the heart,
00:18:52because we don't want it to stick
00:18:54on the sticky tape and everything,
00:18:55just put a little scrap paper over.
00:18:57Okay.
00:18:58Were you prompted?
00:18:59You seem to know what you're doing.
00:19:00No, I'm just doing what you're doing.
00:19:02Okay, so now stick this in like that,
00:19:05and then pop out a heart.
00:19:10Okay.
00:19:11Now, put a little sticky here
00:19:13and a little sticky here underneath a slit.
00:19:15You have a slit.
00:19:16That's for the penny.
00:19:16Now, what's the penny for?
00:19:18The penny is to cross the river Styx.
00:19:20Okay.
00:19:22That's to actually scratch.
00:19:24Oh, right.
00:19:25It's to scratch off.
00:19:26And if you put this little bit of tape here,
00:19:28it'll prevent the penny from slipping down, okay?
00:19:31Okay.
00:19:32So then, we have our card,
00:19:33and this is a template which you can get online
00:19:36at marthastewart.com.
00:19:37Gotcha, great.
00:19:38That, you have a computer at home, right?
00:19:39I do, I do.
00:19:40And a printer?
00:19:41Yes.
00:19:42Okay.
00:19:43He has to think.
00:19:44And now you take your double stick tape,
00:19:46which you have by your telephone.
00:19:47Yep.
00:19:48At home.
00:19:48Right, of course.
00:19:49Because I still have a telephone.
00:19:51I still have an old telephone.
00:19:54No, do you have a telephone in your apartment?
00:19:55I don't.
00:19:56No.
00:19:56Who has a telephone anymore?
00:19:57Gosh.
00:19:58Wait, what am I doing?
00:19:59Is this going?
00:20:00Oh, no.
00:20:01You have that, and you have to put your tape on there.
00:20:01So you can stick that to the side opposite the penny.
00:20:04Ugh.
00:20:05My tape was too long.
00:20:07I eyeballed it wrong.
00:20:09So you stick this on your beautiful card.
00:20:11Okay, this is the part where I kind of feel
00:20:12like I fall behind.
00:20:14I'm getting nervous, and then I get nervous.
00:20:16Hold on, okay, great.
00:20:17That's yours.
00:20:18Okay.
00:20:19Oh, no, what are you doing?
00:20:19What am I doing?
00:20:21I'm panicking.
00:20:24Yours is already done.
00:20:24No, this is the, here.
00:20:25Oh, here.
00:20:26Here, this goes, this goes here.
00:20:33Here.
00:20:34Yours is horizontal.
00:20:35Yeah, yeah, I get it.
00:20:37Okay.
00:20:37There.
00:20:39Well, that one's done already.
00:20:40Yeah, this is the one I, they had me fill this out.
00:20:41You did for me.
00:20:42But now, wait a minute, put your,
00:20:43now peel off the backing of your little hearts.
00:20:45Yeah.
00:20:46See, that's, you've made your own sticky paper.
00:20:49Isn't that clever?
00:20:50It is, it is clever.
00:20:51And put this over this.
00:20:53It'd be less clever if I hadn't been talked through it
00:20:55at every turn.
00:20:55And then, and then what you're gonna do is scratch.
00:20:58This is what you scratch.
00:20:59You scratch this painty, soapy stuff off the message.
00:21:02This one says, be mine, true love, hugs, boring.
00:21:05Yeah, those are boring.
00:21:06I wrote some messages for you on mine, Seth.
00:21:08Okay, great.
00:21:09This is for you.
00:21:10Okay, and this is for you, and I wrote something on it.
00:21:12And then you take your penny out of the back, see?
00:21:15Okay.
00:21:16And you scratch.
00:21:17I already lost my penny.
00:21:18You do?
00:21:20Okay, I got it, I stole it.
00:21:21You got it, okay.
00:21:22So, Seth wrote me a message.
00:21:24That's actually the one I'm gonna give Alexi.
00:21:26Oh, you are?
00:21:27Yeah.
00:21:28Okay.
00:21:29I'm, let's see what you're gonna give.
00:21:32Having.
00:21:33There you go.
00:21:36Having an affair.
00:21:41Oh, with Martha.
00:21:45Yeah.
00:21:46Oh.
00:21:47That'd be the right way.
00:21:48I feel like she'd be happy.
00:21:49Buying flowers on Valentine's Day can be quite expensive,
00:21:53but with a little creativity,
00:21:54you can design fabulous flower arrangements
00:21:57for everyone on your list for a fraction of the cost.
00:22:00Our decorating expert, Kevin Sharkey, has great ideas,
00:22:03and you are implementing them.
00:22:04I am, I'm gonna show you what we can do
00:22:06with store-bought bouquets.
00:22:07They're so inexpensive, so easy.
00:22:09You can get them at, you know, garden centers,
00:22:12delicatessens, grocery stores.
00:22:14Yeah.
00:22:14So this one, we took this,
00:22:16and I didn't like the yellow rose,
00:22:18so you pull the yellow rose out,
00:22:18you can put it in a bud vase or something.
00:22:20Should I be unwrapping this?
00:22:21No, we'll do something down there.
00:22:23But what I did do is we got lemon leaf.
00:22:25Oh, yeah, look at this.
00:22:26And we put a cup around it,
00:22:26so it just sort of elevates the arrangement.
00:22:29We put it in a vase, so it's really pretty.
00:22:31It looks like it came from a florist,
00:22:33and there are no roses.
00:22:34You don't have to have roses on Valentine's Day.
00:22:37So this is the same?
00:22:37That's the same thing, yeah.
00:22:38Okay, those are the shoes bouquets.
00:22:40And they're beautiful.
00:22:40This was only $5.99 from Trader Joe's.
00:22:43So, Trader Joe's, and that's what you can get out of it.
00:22:46Very beautiful.
00:22:46Absolutely.
00:22:47And where'd you find the lemon leaves?
00:22:49Trader Joe's as well.
00:22:49Oh, okay, great.
00:22:50So you can do it all from one place.
00:22:51Now, you can also buy roses at the deli.
00:22:54Those are beautiful.
00:22:55These are.
00:22:56Button mums.
00:22:57And all we did to that, that was pretty as it was.
00:22:59So we just took this off,
00:23:00we cut the stems a little bit shorter.
00:23:02Take off the price tag, $10.
00:23:03That was $10.
00:23:04$10.
00:23:05$10.
00:23:06And you re-wrapped it.
00:23:07That is so beautiful.
00:23:08We re-wrapped, we used the Michael's Craft punch,
00:23:11Cherish Hearts.
00:23:12So we just made a new cuff part,
00:23:14so it was really pretty.
00:23:14Oh, so that's good.
00:23:15Punched around the whole edge.
00:23:17Oh, I see, that's very nice.
00:23:18Super easy.
00:23:19And so that is, I wouldn't mind getting that.
00:23:21Right?
00:23:22Yeah.
00:23:23That's very nice.
00:23:24And then over here, we have tulips.
00:23:25And it's 10 stems for $7.50.
00:23:28Couldn't be cheaper or more cheerful.
00:23:30So those, we just took apart,
00:23:31and we put them in little frosted cylinders,
00:23:33so it sort of has a nice uniform effect.
00:23:36And you can put those down the center of a table.
00:23:37Right, and if you wanted to,
00:23:38you could make little paper wrappings
00:23:39with the same little scalloped edge on them.
00:23:42Absolutely, with a light nose gaze
00:23:43or something like that.
00:23:44Yeah, those would be pretty.
00:23:44And then over here, this is from Whole Foods,
00:23:47and this one was, I think, $12.99.
00:23:49And what we're gonna do with this
00:23:51is cut these down and make some bouquets,
00:23:53some boutonnieres.
00:23:54Oh, corsages.
00:23:55No corsages and all that.
00:23:57See, I'd wear that.
00:23:58Yeah, it's beautiful.
00:23:59And you can give it to a friend or a teacher
00:24:01or something like that.
00:24:02Yeah, very nice.
00:24:03So what would you like to use?
00:24:05Oh, I want,
00:24:07I want a rose, I'll choose.
00:24:09That's a pretty rose.
00:24:11And maybe another rose.
00:24:13Hypericum berry's pretty.
00:24:15Yeah, hypericum berry's, and a piece of this greenery.
00:24:18Okay, so hypericum, so you have to sort of know
00:24:20what all this stuff is, and a piece of this greenery.
00:24:23All right.
00:24:24So, yeah, you have to trim.
00:24:25Trim it down, like two or three inches.
00:24:28Okay, and you have floral tape and ribbon.
00:24:31So you're just gonna secure it
00:24:32with the floral tape around the edges.
00:24:35So you give this to your girlfriend.
00:24:38Or your friend.
00:24:39Or your teacher.
00:24:40Or your assistant.
00:24:41Yep.
00:24:42Doesn't have to be romantic.
00:24:44No, it's like, that's pretty in there.
00:24:46Yeah.
00:24:47So, and these are also nice to decorate gifts with.
00:24:49You know, you can put it on a ribbon on a present
00:24:51or something like that.
00:24:54So.
00:24:54So that's what I do here?
00:24:56Yep, it's just a typical corsage.
00:24:57Do the little pin, okay.
00:24:58So you're better at it than I am.
00:25:00Very, very beautiful.
00:25:02Yeah, make sure that the pin
00:25:04is not going to stick into anybody.
00:25:06So it can be for a man or a woman.
00:25:07I mean, you can make it a boutonniere or anything like that.
00:25:09Yeah, really pretty, okay.
00:25:11Well, now I know how to do something very inexpensive.
00:25:14Now, it was only $12.99 for all of that.
00:25:16You're going to show us how to make these pillows.
00:25:19They're very clever.
00:25:20So the template's on our website.
00:25:22That's right.
00:25:23At marthastewart.com.
00:25:24Here's your template.
00:25:25And you can enlarge this to any size.
00:25:27I mean, you could make these giant if you wanted to.
00:25:29You could.
00:25:29And we give you directions.
00:25:31We tell you to enlarge it 300%.
00:25:33Okay, for these.
00:25:34Which we've done.
00:25:35For this pillow.
00:25:36That's right.
00:25:36So then you're going to get a template like this.
00:25:39And we're going to be using this cool stretch vinyl fabric.
00:25:43Yeah, where'd you get this?
00:25:44This is, of course, at a place called Spandex World, right?
00:25:47Of course, that's where they would have it.
00:25:49Now, once you have your two pieces cut out,
00:25:50we're going to tape them together.
00:25:52I just, I use tape instead of pins.
00:25:54Yeah, you don't want to make holes in this.
00:25:55That's right.
00:25:56So we're just going to put a few pieces of tape
00:25:59and that will hold it together to go in the machine.
00:26:02All right, perfect.
00:26:04And then we're going to be all ready to sew it in the machine
00:26:08after you tape it.
00:26:09You tape it pretty liberally, but.
00:26:11Good.
00:26:12So this is our next step.
00:26:14So you sew it all the way around.
00:26:16That's right.
00:26:16You sew the whole thing, including both corners.
00:26:19But not three inches on each side?
00:26:21Yes, these are the holes that you're going to leave
00:26:23that when we turn it.
00:26:24That's right, when you turn it right side out,
00:26:26you'll stop in those holes.
00:26:27And when you're done doing that,
00:26:29we're going to clip, actually, the corners and the curves.
00:26:34Okay, and this will help it turn nicely.
00:26:36So we're going to clip these corners off.
00:26:38Just don't cut through your stitching.
00:26:40That's, that's exactly it.
00:26:43You have to be pretty careful there.
00:26:44And you can clip that corner off.
00:26:46And then you're going to also trim the seam allowance
00:26:48about, down to about a quarter of an inch.
00:26:51Oh, even more?
00:26:52Yeah, just like that.
00:26:53Like that, okay.
00:26:54Yeah.
00:26:55So go all around the whole thing.
00:26:56All the way around.
00:26:56Then turn it.
00:26:57Then turn it right side out.
00:26:59And you're going to come up with something like this.
00:27:01I'll grab.
00:27:01Okay, thanks.
00:27:02And this is the pillow, right side out.
00:27:06And when you clip it, see, it makes the.
00:27:08Where's the openings?
00:27:09Oh, here they are.
00:27:10There they are.
00:27:10For stuffing, okay.
00:27:11Okay, so it makes it turn nicely.
00:27:14And then.
00:27:15Don't iron this, by the way.
00:27:16Okay, some fabrics you can iron.
00:27:20Do not iron the vinyl.
00:27:21That's right, that's right.
00:27:23This is the next step.
00:27:25So what I've done here is I've taken a piece
00:27:27of parchment paper and I've drawn the lip line
00:27:30on the parchment paper.
00:27:32And I like to use a, the same color pencil
00:27:36that I'm using for the thread.
00:27:37That's a good little tip because otherwise
00:27:39if you use like a regular pencil,
00:27:40it'll rub off on the thread.
00:27:41Okay, so can you turn this over and do it again?
00:27:44Well, you don't.
00:27:44Are you going to sew through that?
00:27:45We're going to sew through it.
00:27:46Oh.
00:27:47And that way you don't have to mark the pillow.
00:27:48Oh, okay.
00:27:49And you also, the parchment paper also helps
00:27:51glide the sticky fabric through the machine.
00:27:54So you Scotch tape this down too?
00:27:55Yes, but we want to put the lip line on the front.
00:27:57Like this.
00:27:58Oh, okay.
00:27:58Okay.
00:27:59So we'll put a couple pieces of tape here.
00:28:02And tape this down real good.
00:28:03So easy.
00:28:04It actually is really easy.
00:28:06After you figure it out, it's easy.
00:28:09All right, so we'll do a couple of those.
00:28:11And then we can move over to the sewing machine.
00:28:12We've got two in there that you and I can actually sew.
00:28:15So we'll give that a go.
00:28:17All right, so this is yours and this is mine.
00:28:19And we're just sewing directly on this seam line here.
00:28:24How's it working for you?
00:28:25Oh, perfect.
00:28:26Okay, see and the parchment paper helps you.
00:28:30And then you just tear that off.
00:28:32Right, okay.
00:28:33Now we're going to finish that up.
00:28:34This is my favorite part, it's ripping off the paper.
00:28:37So like this.
00:28:38Very fun.
00:28:40And you see you make a nice, oh, perfect.
00:28:44You're doing a good job.
00:28:45I've got a few little strays here.
00:28:47Now it's time to stuff them, okay?
00:28:49So here's yours.
00:28:50We've stuffed it partially.
00:28:52I'm actually going to, there's the hole over there.
00:28:54Swap out.
00:28:55Yes.
00:28:56And we're using, oh, this nice fiberfill.
00:28:58Oh, I love this.
00:28:59This is just polyfill.
00:29:00I've actually even taken some pillows apart
00:29:02and stuffed them with old pillows.
00:29:04Use stuff that you have around the house.
00:29:05Am I down?
00:29:06I've never done down, but I took.
00:29:08Don't do it inside.
00:29:10No down inside?
00:29:11You will have feathers everywhere forever
00:29:13if you do it inside.
00:29:15Now you have to be a little careful
00:29:17when you're stuffing this.
00:29:17As my son says, if you overstuff it,
00:29:20it will look like a fat lip.
00:29:22Or as my daughter says, it will look like
00:29:23she got a big shot of collagen.
00:29:25Oh, okay.
00:29:26So you have to be a little careful.
00:29:28But we're going to get it in there and.
00:29:30So it's better to do little bits at a time?
00:29:34Actually, I like to take a big, big handful.
00:29:37And with this fabric, you can just smooth it nicely.
00:29:43When you're done with it, you're going to whip stitch
00:29:45the sides closed or blind stitch it closed.
00:29:47Next time you finish a bottle of wine,
00:29:49don't throw away that little cork.
00:29:52Here's a very clever way that you can use corks
00:29:55to make a sweet stamp that's perfect for Valentine's Day.
00:29:59XOXO.
00:30:01Draw an X on one side of the cork and an O on the other.
00:30:05And then cut away the negative with an X-Acto knife
00:30:09just cut on either side, making a little stamp.
00:30:13And once you have your stamp all cut out like this,
00:30:17you can just use acrylic paint or fabric paint.
00:30:20Pounce in the paint and print on your little napkin
00:30:26or towel or a T-shirt.
00:30:30There's an X and let's do an O.
00:30:35You just use the same cork for both.
00:30:37It's very clever.
00:30:40And this is washable when it dries and vibrant.
00:30:44And it's so cute.
00:30:46And I marked off a little straight line
00:30:48with a piece of masking tape and let these dry.
00:30:52They launder, they look really great
00:30:54at a cocktail party.
00:30:55I'm back with Livia Chetty making gorgeous paper flowers.
00:30:58I could stay here all day doing this.
00:31:00And we're using her simple tried and true techniques.
00:31:03So now the peony.
00:31:05These are gorgeous.
00:31:05Yes.
00:31:06First steps?
00:31:07Well, this one you dye the tissue paper
00:31:10slightly differently.
00:31:13You kind of can take four or five pieces
00:31:17and you just dip it in this way instead.
00:31:19Oh, just on the end.
00:31:20Yeah.
00:31:21So you kind of get a two-tone effect.
00:31:24Again, boy, that dye works.
00:31:25And the bleach works so quickly.
00:31:29And it's what gives it that natural kind of painted look.
00:31:33You have these beautiful dyed pieces
00:31:35and you cut them into two-inch segments.
00:31:38Okay.
00:31:39And then I just freehand cut this
00:31:41where I kind of shape the petal like this.
00:31:46Oh, I see.
00:31:47Round them off a little bit.
00:31:48Uh-huh.
00:31:50Okay.
00:31:52And then I use these scissors that are shaped with-
00:31:55Are you shaping the dyed or the bleached or the unbleached?
00:31:57Yeah, you can do it either way.
00:31:59You can, in this case, we're doing the bleached part out,
00:32:03but you can really do it either way.
00:32:05To make it kind of have this fluffy shape,
00:32:07I like to use two petals at a time
00:32:09and fold to kind of get this crease
00:32:11that makes the petals kind of have a cup shape.
00:32:14Oh, I see.
00:32:15So you kind of do this.
00:32:15Oh, I see.
00:32:17That's how you do that.
00:32:18Yeah.
00:32:20And I make about a dozen or so petals.
00:32:22And then we create the stamen again.
00:32:26And we use the fringe, your great fringe scissors again
00:32:29to just fringe an inch-wide piece of tissue paper
00:32:32and use the slippery mat again to kind of-
00:32:36Okay, so just gather this up?
00:32:37Mm-hmm.
00:32:38Crinkle it up.
00:32:39Okay.
00:32:40And then you just tape it on a wire.
00:32:42So you make the same kind of little center.
00:32:43Yeah, so you're gonna make
00:32:44just a pretty little center like that
00:32:46and put it on another segment of 18-gauge florist wire.
00:32:52And then you kind of take the groupings of petals
00:32:54and I just, you know-
00:32:56Together or?
00:32:57Yeah, two at a time.
00:32:59And kind of start adding them on around the petal
00:33:02and secure with floral tape.
00:33:04So secure each petal with the tape first?
00:33:06Yeah, each grouping.
00:33:08And if you gather it a little bit at the bottom,
00:33:10that kind of, you know, helps it get-
00:33:13Fluffy.
00:33:15Fluffy.
00:33:16Sorry.
00:33:17I'm telling you what to say.
00:33:19That's okay.
00:33:20So you just kind of keep adding the petals on.
00:33:22I usually do about two layers.
00:33:25And you're gonna end up
00:33:27with this kind of beautiful peony at the end.
00:33:30Well, you can make it as big or as small as you wish, right?
00:33:32Yeah, and if you're doing a plant,
00:33:34I like to make some small and some large and do some buds.
00:33:37Wouldn't those handmade heart doilies
00:33:40decorating our bulletin board look great in your home?
00:33:43I just think they look so beautiful back there.
00:33:47And if you have a little bulletin board,
00:33:49even on your refrigerator,
00:33:50you can use these hearts to dress it up.
00:33:55You can also dress up a tray for your Valentine.
00:33:57And best of all, they're very, very simple to make
00:34:00and very inexpensive.
00:34:02All you need is a napkin.
00:34:04So this is a red napkin.
00:34:05You can buy a pack of a hundred of these
00:34:07for very little money.
00:34:08You fold the napkin in half on the diagonal like that.
00:34:13Then you fold it again, matching up the edges,
00:34:19the folded edges like that.
00:34:21Then if you are clever enough,
00:34:25you can just cut it out without tracing.
00:34:27But if you want to get the perfect heart,
00:34:30just trace with a pencil like that.
00:34:32Cut simply on your line.
00:34:37I was so much fun.
00:34:39I remember making Valentine's.
00:34:41Oh, I still make Valentine's.
00:34:43So what am I talking about?
00:34:44I still am always making Valentine's, but watch this.
00:34:47You open this up and you can make it out of pinks
00:34:50and pale pinks and reds and whatever.
00:34:53And then open this up.
00:34:54You have a beautiful little tray decoration.
00:34:58And you can see, look at that.
00:35:00Kids will love doing this.
00:35:02It's so very simple.
00:35:04Look at this tray, how pretty it is.
00:35:07And we actually did have a little foam hearts
00:35:11on top of our cappuccino,
00:35:12which have kind of dissipated a little bit right now,
00:35:14but it's still a beautiful cup of cappuccino
00:35:17with all these beautiful hearts on the tray.
00:35:20Rosa has agreed to show us how to make her cup of tea.
00:35:25Yes, we are.
00:35:26Here's her cup of tea.
00:35:27Isn't that darling?
00:35:28And there's a little tea bag in it and a little locket
00:35:32and all kinds of wonderful punches.
00:35:34That looks like my punch.
00:35:35That's your punch.
00:35:36You got a couple of your punches here.
00:35:38We'll show everybody how to do it.
00:35:39Okay, so how do we do it?
00:35:40We have a template.
00:35:41Yep, we have a template.
00:35:42We have our mat.
00:35:43And what we're gonna do first is the background,
00:35:46what goes behind the cup.
00:35:47So we have this strip of paper and we're gonna punch it.
00:35:50Okay.
00:35:53I love using our punches.
00:35:54I love your punches.
00:35:56I can't get enough of them.
00:35:56See, look, it's beautiful heart.
00:35:59These edges are really great.
00:36:00You want more than one heart punched out?
00:36:02You want the whole thing?
00:36:02The whole thing, straight across.
00:36:05We're gonna make a nice, pretty edge there.
00:36:07Yes, ooh, working so well.
00:36:09I love this.
00:36:10If a little tiny thing is left,
00:36:11just clip it off with Rosa's favorite tool.
00:36:14Yep, and then what we're gonna do next
00:36:16is we're going to tape that edge that we just made
00:36:20to the cardstock, to the pink cardstock.
00:36:23Okay.
00:36:24Okay.
00:36:25Okay, so using, oh yes, I love this too.
00:36:26I love this.
00:36:27This little tape applicator.
00:36:29This is a new thing for me.
00:36:30I'm gonna stock up on this when I get home.
00:36:32Good.
00:36:34And then just tape it to your back, okay?
00:36:37Right down on the bottom?
00:36:37Right down on the bottom.
00:36:38Well, they already made me one, but I did it myself.
00:36:41Good job, Martha.
00:36:42Oh, I didn't even see this swap out.
00:36:45Okay, there.
00:36:46Okay, next we're gonna do the teacup.
00:36:48So you have the template right here,
00:36:50and we went ahead and we cut out a teacup.
00:36:54Look, look how cute.
00:36:55Yeah, that's really cute.
00:36:56The template's at marthastewart.com,
00:36:58and just like our leaf template,
00:37:00we have hundreds and hundreds of templates
00:37:02for you to enjoy right on our website.
00:37:05I just want everybody to know that.
00:37:06Yep, that's right.
00:37:07Okay, so move on.
00:37:08We have to move on.
00:37:08We used some adhesive dots in the back,
00:37:10and so we off-center a little bit
00:37:12to make room for the handle on the bottom of the card.
00:37:14Oh, okay, so we're putting it down here.
00:37:15Yeah, down here.
00:37:16We gotta leave space on the top for the bag and the spoon.
00:37:20Okay, so that lifts it up off the back.
00:37:22Yes, it does.
00:37:23Okay, so.
00:37:23And then we're gonna put the handle on, okay?
00:37:26You with me?
00:37:27Yep.
00:37:28Okay, well now we have.
00:37:29I'll catch up.
00:37:30So we've got a couple elements here.
00:37:31We have a tag that we've made ahead of time.
00:37:33You're just gonna need to cut a one-inch square,
00:37:37and you're gonna wanna paste the tag onto your teacup.
00:37:40Oh, yeah, I love this.
00:37:41Okay, you with me?
00:37:42Yep.
00:37:43Alrighty.
00:37:44Using our same little.
00:37:45Using your same.
00:37:45Tape applicator.
00:37:46Phenomenal, oh my goodness, yes.
00:37:47Job.
00:37:48And where does this go?
00:37:49Oh, it goes in the teacup.
00:37:50Yep, in the teacup.
00:37:51You're gonna put that in the teacup, right?
00:37:52Okay, that's the little teaspoon.
00:37:53Now, you wanna tuck the thread in with the teacup.
00:37:55Oh, yes.
00:37:56And this little dot,
00:37:56put it on the edge of your tag on the bottom.
00:37:58That'll really make it look cute.
00:37:59Just in, okay, tuck the thread in.
00:38:02Oops.
00:38:03That's right.
00:38:04Yep, okay, I'm doing it.
00:38:06We're almost done.
00:38:07Okay.
00:38:08Good job.
00:38:08And now, teabag in the teacup.
00:38:10The teabag in the teacup, and we are ready for tea.
00:38:13You ready for tea?
00:38:13Oh my gosh, it's so cute.
00:38:15And what about that little,
00:38:16I didn't put my little heart on.
00:38:17Where did this go?
00:38:18Oh, the heart goes on top of the spoon.
00:38:19Oh, oh, okay.
00:38:20Oh, that, no, that's not.
00:38:21Oh, no, that little circle one
00:38:21goes on the bottom of your tag.
00:38:22Oh, okay, I don't have that.
00:38:24There.
00:38:24We're good to go.
00:38:25I did it.
00:38:26Yeah, good job.
00:38:27This has to go on here, right?
00:38:28This goes on your card stock.
00:38:30Okay, so that's gonna go right on here with,
00:38:32again, this is another type of glue tape,
00:38:37which is, which works.
00:38:38A double-sided tape.
00:38:38Yep, double-sided tape, which works so well.
00:38:41Here we go.
00:38:42So here we have a little English breakfast tea.
00:38:44I love it.
00:38:45We've got this one.
00:38:46It's called a special tweet.
00:38:48This is hot pink love.
00:38:49Oh.
00:38:50We call this one love is blind,
00:38:51because you just, it doesn't, you know,
00:38:52we had the turtle falling in love with a porcupine,
00:38:54but who cares, right, guys?
00:38:56And this was hanging out with my peeps is the next one.
00:39:00And, yep.
00:39:02And then we have I'll be there for you.
00:39:04I'll be there.
00:39:05I'll be there.
00:39:06And love is at the door,
00:39:07and there's your sticker there on it.
00:39:09Oh, how nice.
00:39:09So all of these are just so beautiful.
00:39:12So which one are we gonna make?
00:39:13We're going to make love is in the house valentine.
00:39:17Oh, okay.
00:39:18Ooh, baby.
00:39:19Ready?
00:39:20Okay.
00:39:21Okay, so we're gonna start with your printed paper.
00:39:21Yes.
00:39:22And we're just gonna go ahead
00:39:23and attach it to the card stock.
00:39:25Now, I took it out of your Enchanted Woodlands line
00:39:28this year, which I absolutely.
00:39:30So the background is the card?
00:39:33The background is the white card stock,
00:39:35and then on top of it, the printed mat.
00:39:37And then we went ahead and cut out our birdhouse.
00:39:39And when people don't have good drawing skills,
00:39:43you can always take advantage of online templates
00:39:45like the ones you all offer on marthastuart.com.
00:39:47And we're gonna go ahead and use our punch
00:39:50all over the page.
00:39:52Oh, don't you love this?
00:39:53Martha, I can't tell you how much I've used this punch
00:39:56and all the designs I've come up with it.
00:39:57Okay, so this, you can just center it right on.
00:40:00That's right.
00:40:02Okay.
00:40:03Okay.
00:40:04You just center.
00:40:05Center and punch.
00:40:06Okay.
00:40:07And you have to make sure that the square edge
00:40:10is matching the square edge.
00:40:11And all aligned, there you go.
00:40:11Right.
00:40:12Where is my square edge?
00:40:13So we punched out our heart.
00:40:16There you go.
00:40:17See?
00:40:18Yay.
00:40:19Okay, so once we have.
00:40:21Right in place.
00:40:22All right, so we're still gonna work on the backside
00:40:25and we're gonna do two real quick things.
00:40:27We're gonna glue a little bit of colored cardstock
00:40:29to cover the window.
00:40:31And so we're going to go ahead and do that.
00:40:33Just use the glue stick?
00:40:34You use your faithful glue stick.
00:40:36I can't tell you how many glue sticks I have in the house.
00:40:39And little secret, guys.
00:40:41This is a big secret of mine that make my cards pop.
00:40:43I use these pop dots.
00:40:45Oh, I love them.
00:40:46We're going to go ahead and put two,
00:40:48one on the top and one on the bottom.
00:40:50And that's gonna elevate your little birdhouse
00:40:52and it's just gonna make it pop
00:40:53and it just makes it look so cute.
00:40:55Okay.
00:40:56Okay.
00:40:58So once you got your pop dot on,
00:40:59go ahead and flip it around
00:41:02and you can glue it to your printed cardstock.
00:41:07Now, you notice that we put three little hearts on the top
00:41:09just to add a little more decoration.
00:41:11You know, a birdhouse with a little bit of hearts
00:41:14on the top, I don't know, I've always seen that
00:41:15and I like it.
00:41:17We're gonna use your glue stick again
00:41:19and we're going to add some glue on the bottom
00:41:22and just paste the leaves.
00:41:24We used your leaf punch, the frond leaf punch.
00:41:27And so what I basically did was,
00:41:30we attached two.
00:41:31Oh, here they are.
00:41:32Yep, there they are.
00:41:33Two on the outside and then we'll put two more in
00:41:35a little further in.
00:41:38So beautiful.
00:41:39I know, it's so sweet, isn't it?
00:41:41And it looks like, I mean,
00:41:42it looks like this was cut out somehow.
00:41:46Well, it's all your punches, Martha.
00:41:47Oh, I know, but.
00:41:48But they're so complicated and so beautiful.
00:41:51And so what you wanna do afterwards.
00:41:52How many punches do you have?
00:41:54Oh, I lost track.
00:41:55From the last trip, I lost track.
00:41:56I have close to 100 now.
00:41:58I have over 100.
00:41:59Oh, well, you beat me.
00:42:00Okay, so what we're gonna do is that
00:42:03we're gonna swap out, but what we basically do
00:42:05is we complete the corners of the birdhouse
00:42:08with more green leaves and add them to the corners,
00:42:13attach directly to the printed mat
00:42:15and that just kind of makes the other leaves pop.
00:42:17And then we can add our birds.
00:42:19And then we're gonna add our birds.
00:42:19So you pick what birds you want.
00:42:21I think I want to add this one
00:42:24that has the bouquet of, it's so sweet, of valentines.
00:42:29And the little, he's giving her a valentine.
00:42:33See?
00:42:34And what we also did was we added little hearts
00:42:36to the sides to just kind of give more decoration.
00:42:39But we used the last final touch,
00:42:43a little bit of glitter.
00:42:43It just adds more texture.
00:42:45And I always say a little bit of glitter
00:42:46goes a long way, don't you, Martha?
00:42:49It does.
00:42:49And your glitter paper's amazing.
00:42:50So I popped that out with your glittered paper
00:42:52with a heart confetti punch.
00:42:53And we're done.
00:42:54And we have our love is in the house valentine.
00:42:57It is so beautiful.
00:42:59Here's some really easy ideas that you can actually do
00:43:03today with your kids for Junee's room.
00:43:06Yes, and for the classroom.
00:43:07They're so easy that you could crank out a ton
00:43:08for the whole class, which is what I have to do later.
00:43:12So these guys, you could buy candy in bulk.
00:43:14You're a head start here.
00:43:15You could probably take half this.
00:43:16Oh, I know, I'm gonna need those after the segment.
00:43:17Oh, I was gonna give those out to my friends.
00:43:21These are candies that you can get in multi-packs.
00:43:23Very inexpensive.
00:43:24Of course, I picked ones with little red wrappers.
00:43:26Perfect.
00:43:26And then I wrapped them in decorative scrapbook paper,
00:43:29which is such great patterned papers nowadays.
00:43:31So those are really, really easy.
00:43:33Give one out to everybody in the class.
00:43:34You could put a label on it.
00:43:35And then just taking those inexpensive lollipops
00:43:39that you get, taping it to some cardstock hearts
00:43:42that you cut out.
00:43:44This is a really, really cute one, too.
00:43:45It's just chewing gum.
00:43:47And it looks like a little match book.
00:43:49When you open it, it says, I choose you.
00:43:52And one of our art directors at the magazine
00:43:54did that when she was little,
00:43:55so that's where we got the idea.
00:43:56That's very cute.
00:43:57And this is what my son Sammy,
00:43:59we're gonna give out at his preschool.
00:44:01Little bags of all different assorted candies
00:44:05with his picture on it.
00:44:06I'm gonna show you how to make that.
00:44:07So you took his picture.
00:44:08Yeah, I took his picture.
00:44:10And I had to make a kissy face,
00:44:12so we had to do a lot of practicing.
00:44:14And then I cut it out myself.
00:44:15And if you're comfortable on the computer
00:44:17doing it in a photo editing software,
00:44:18you can do that as well.
00:44:20And then so I cut it out, and I put it right here.
00:44:22And then I drew some hearts with a colored pencil.
00:44:24Oh, so these printed?
00:44:25Oh, yes, yeah.
00:44:27So then I made it this way.
00:44:28You could do this whole thing on the computer
00:44:30if you're comfortable.
00:44:31And then I took this stamp,
00:44:32which you could actually get at Costco.
00:44:33I love it.
00:44:34I love the way these rubber stamps look.
00:44:36Costco, again?
00:44:37Oh.
00:44:39I said Costco.
00:44:39Oh, you did?
00:44:40Yeah.
00:44:41Oh, well, they have great stuff there.
00:44:42Okay, you are sweet, XO Sammy.
00:44:44And then I scanned it and made this whole layout.
00:44:47And I'm gonna cut one out for you.
00:44:48Oh, so you made multiples,
00:44:49and then they can be cut out very easily.
00:44:51Yeah, so with two sheets,
00:44:52I've got his whole class covered.
00:44:54And then if you wanna fill up some bags
00:44:56right there of candy.
00:44:57Okay, no problem.
00:44:58And then we'll just tape it closed.
00:44:59Now, what are these candies?
00:45:00Those?
00:45:01I'm not an expert in candy anymore.
00:45:02Oh, I love those.
00:45:03Those are, aren't they cute?
00:45:04They're like sweet tarts.
00:45:06So they're not Red Hots.
00:45:07No, they're not cinnamon-y.
00:45:08They're kinda tart.
00:45:09Yeah, I like these better, they say.
00:45:10Yeah.
00:45:11So, and then you just fold this in half.
00:45:16And then, I pinked the edge.
00:45:18Can you, you can pink those.
00:45:20Right here?
00:45:20Oh, no, pink the edge of the label.
00:45:22Oh, excuse me.
00:45:23Sure.
00:45:24Oh, yeah.
00:45:24If you want to, that's optional.
00:45:25So I have some bags already made here.
00:45:27Why not?
00:45:28If that's the way it should be,
00:45:30that's the way it's gonna be.
00:45:31We are Martha Stewart people, right?
00:45:32And then, oh, so put double stick tape on, okay.
00:45:36Uh-huh, on the inside of that.
00:45:37I just, you could also staple it if you wanted to.
00:45:40Oh, this is nice, because then you don't have any.
00:45:42No staples near the food, right?
00:45:43Staples for the children to eat.
00:45:45So now, Sam is gonna give these
00:45:46to all his preschool friends.
00:45:47You never know, you never know.
00:45:49They tell you not to put toothpicks in their food
00:45:51because they're gonna eat the toothpicks.
00:45:52That's right, mm-hmm.
00:45:54You have to watch out.
00:45:54Why, why?
00:45:55I don't wanna be the mom at the preschool.
00:45:57So just like this?
00:45:58Yep, and then you fold it down.
00:45:59Okay.
00:46:00And I have some other really easy ideas right there.
00:46:02Look how cute.
00:46:03Yeah, Sam is so excited to give those out.
00:46:04Okay, these just look like little heart,
00:46:09little envelopes, right?
00:46:09But what's fun about these is that when you open them up,
00:46:13they're actually a heart.
00:46:14Oh, how cute.
00:46:15And then that's a nice way for kids at school
00:46:16to give out stickers to their friends.
00:46:18I love to give little gifts with the Valentines.
00:46:20So you can see, you take this heart,
00:46:22and you just kind of finesse it.
00:46:23And we have the template on MarthaStewart.com.
00:46:26There's some instructions.
00:46:27You fold the bottom up, you fold the sides in.
00:46:30You could use a bone folder.
00:46:31Yeah, I like that.
00:46:32Or, if it's thin enough paper,
00:46:33you don't really have to.
00:46:34And then the sides?
00:46:35Mm-hmm, then the sides.
00:46:36And then you fold the top down.
00:46:38We found at the Crafts Fair
00:46:39that these bone folders are extremely unknown.
00:46:43People don't know how good they are.
00:46:43Oh, really?
00:46:44They're such a handy tool.
00:46:45They are, and we're making one.
00:46:47Do you know that Martha Stewart Crafts
00:46:48is one of our own?
00:46:49I know, I'm so excited for that.
00:46:50So then you just seal it with a sticker.
00:46:54And then you've got your own little heart-velope,
00:46:58I'll call it.
00:46:58Oh, a heart-velope.
00:46:59Yeah, and then this idea is another gift.
00:47:01So outside, not like that.
00:47:02Oh, sorry, yeah, point over it.
00:47:04Okay, so I have to put something inside.
00:47:06Oh, yeah, a little gift.
00:47:07Oh, I forgot to put stickers inside.
00:47:09Okay, we're running out of time,
00:47:11so I just want to show you these,
00:47:12which are another little gift for friends at school.
00:47:15Badges, I loved to wear these when I was a kid.
00:47:17They're so cute.
00:47:17On our website, we have some of our designs,
00:47:19or you can buy, this is a store-bought button.
00:47:21The idea here is that you tape it to a little card
00:47:24with a message saying, you're cute as a button.
00:47:27How very cute.
00:47:27So you give those out at school.
00:47:28And you can make these,
00:47:30and they come with a little safety pin.
00:47:31Yeah, you can make them yourselves.
00:47:32They're so easy with these kits.
00:47:34These are wonderful little ideas for all of you out there
00:47:37who are beleaguered with the,
00:47:40how am I gonna make, in two days.
00:47:41For the whole class, I know.
00:47:42I'm gonna make all of these in two days.
00:47:43So let's get started with the cards.
00:47:45Okay, well, one of the fun things about making cards
00:47:47is that it's so fast,
00:47:49and you get great pleasure instantaneously.
00:47:51I made one that I think is extremely cute.
00:47:54It says, I love you more and more.
00:47:57You can find the cutest stamps out there now.
00:47:59So go to the Rubber Stamp Store,
00:48:00find some wonderful stamps.
00:48:02So Martha, I want you to pick out a great stamp,
00:48:05because we're gonna glitter whatever you do.
00:48:07I'm gonna stamp this.
00:48:08Now, ah, let me show you.
00:48:10I have a trick.
00:48:10I thought you were gonna get glitter.
00:48:13You're gonna get stamping 101.
00:48:14First of all, put your stamp upside down.
00:48:16Take your glue, your ink, and dab it lightly.
00:48:20Because this way, you can see where your ink is,
00:48:22and you won't get too much or too little.
00:48:24Now, here's the real secret weapon.
00:48:28You're gonna go, you're huffing.
00:48:30And now, center it nicely on your grid.
00:48:34Okay, and you can put it wherever you want.
00:48:36I like to center my images and give it a good stamp.
00:48:39Boink.
00:48:40You know how to stamp.
00:48:41Very good.
00:48:42Good, do you want to add some words?
00:48:43Gorgeous, yes.
00:48:44Oh, I love that color combination.
00:48:45Very nice. Ooh, I love that too.
00:48:46Okay, I'm gonna do some words.
00:48:47Happy Valentine's Day.
00:48:49Okay, we haven't got much time.
00:48:51Okay, well, just.
00:48:52I'll huff if you huff.
00:48:53Go on, go on.
00:48:55Okay, there we go.
00:48:59Great.
00:49:01Okay, now, I would like to show you
00:49:03how to make it even more special
00:49:04with a little bit of glitter.
00:49:05It works.
00:49:06So, pick a card that's already dry,
00:49:08because we don't want the glitter to stick to the ink.
00:49:11But again, we're gonna get your handy-dandy little
00:49:14glue stick, get it started,
00:49:16and just highlight whatever areas you like.
00:49:20Less is more, just like the Bauhaus says.
00:49:23So, you think.
00:49:24I think.
00:49:25I think I just put a little bit on.
00:49:27So, do that, and sprinkle on.
00:49:30Yeah, that's a perfect place to do it.
00:49:32Sprinkle a little bit on.
00:49:33Sweep it off with a brush, and there you go.
00:49:39Fantastic.
00:49:40That's it.
00:49:41Oops.
00:49:43Glitter away.
00:49:44This is another version of a bikini card.
00:49:47Oh, that's sexy.
00:49:47For Valentine's Day.
00:49:48Look, red hearts in their appropriate places.
00:49:51Yep, so it's just a great card for men to give
00:49:54to their wives or girlfriends,
00:49:56but we have some here that we're going to make
00:49:58for a man, a boyfriend or husband.
00:50:02Well, this is a little risque.
00:50:03Oh, it's fun, though.
00:50:04Oh, can't wait to get into your shorts.
00:50:09Are you sure we can send this?
00:50:10Oh, no, we're going to give it to our boyfriend
00:50:12or husband, or significant other.
00:50:16I'm just kidding.
00:50:17We're just going to cut the shorts.
00:50:18I'm not approved.
00:50:19Okay, so these are the shorts?
00:50:21Yep, we're just going to cut a little bit right there,
00:50:24just like that.
00:50:26And we have these shorts.
00:50:29Oh, how cute.
00:50:32We put these little glue dots,
00:50:34just to give it a little dimension right there.
00:50:38Okay, just two?
00:50:39Uh-huh, just two, sort of in an angle to give it...
00:50:43The little risque feeling.
00:50:44Oh, yes.
00:50:50Okay, simple.
00:50:52Very simple, and I think the simpler the card, the better.
00:50:56So we just add a little glitter right along there.
00:51:01Oh, is this, oh, look at this, stickles, glitter.
00:51:04It comes out as glitter.
00:51:06They do, it's very reasonable.
00:51:07Oh, so you don't even have to put glue down
00:51:09and then glitter.
00:51:11Now, why is mine not coming out?
00:51:14There it is.
00:51:16And let this dry.
00:51:20Okay, and what does it look like?
00:51:23There it is, it's done.
00:51:24Look how cute.
00:51:26If you want to be naughty and nice, I guess.
00:51:29Okay, and this one?
00:51:31These are going to be kissing olives,
00:51:33and we have crepe paper.
00:51:35We have little pieces of olives cut into little shapes,
00:51:40and you put down a little glue, just like that.
00:51:43Very little.
00:51:45So are you creating all of these cards up in Bedford?
00:51:48I am, but I also have quite a few elves
00:51:51that help me make them.
00:51:51I bet.
00:51:53And who are those elves?
00:51:55A lot of moms, I think.
00:51:56They have time to make these,
00:51:58and just people who enjoy making them.
00:52:01Actually, only three.
00:52:02Only three elves?
00:52:03You can do that, too.
00:52:04Oh, how come not four?
00:52:05Absolutely.
00:52:06See, I'm already ruining her designs.
00:52:07Oh, no, no.
00:52:08And the next card?
00:52:09Actually, the last touch we have,
00:52:12we write in all of you.
00:52:16Oh, all of you.
00:52:18So anything that's going to bring a smile,
00:52:20and don't forget the last pimento right there.
00:52:23There we go.
00:52:26Oh, and then you can do the, is this the bikini one?
00:52:28No, this is something else.
00:52:29No, actually, this is the next card we're going to do.
00:52:31To my king of hearts, and you use a,
00:52:34did you just Xerox the card?
00:52:35No, it's a stencil.
00:52:36You have it on your website.
00:52:37Oh, okay, great.
00:52:38And what you can also do is have a deck of cards
00:52:42and place it right there, just like that.
00:52:44Fantastic.
00:52:45This is our last card.
00:52:47What you do is you put a little glitter glue right there,
00:52:51and you put the rhinestone to make it a shape of a clover.
00:53:00Don't want to mess up the glue there.
00:53:02Okay, I got it.
00:53:03Oh, great.
00:53:05And you draw a little stem on it, and you're done.
00:53:09Oh, and that's it.
00:53:10And then you reveal it.
00:53:13Let's get lucky together.
00:53:14It's Valentine's Day.
00:53:16We're going to show you how to make
00:53:18the cutest little jewelry bag, this little bag,
00:53:21in which to put your jewelry and give it as a gift.
00:53:25So what's the first step here?
00:53:26So we have this ultra suede.
00:53:28All the templates are online,
00:53:30and I have all the three pieces that you're going to need
00:53:32to make this little pouch.
00:53:34And I started with this piece of ultra suede
00:53:36that's six inches by three inches wide,
00:53:38and I've marked a line here,
00:53:40and we're going to use pinking shears to cut it,
00:53:42to make it a little, yeah.
00:53:43My favorite scissors.
00:53:45When I was making this pouch,
00:53:47I wanted it to kind of relate to the jewelry
00:53:49that I was putting in it,
00:53:51and the beads have this kind of pinked pattern.
00:53:54So I thought the pinking shears
00:53:56would be really nice for this.
00:53:57So we have that, and now we take the template,
00:54:00and we're going to line it up
00:54:02onto this piece of ultra suede.
00:54:04And I love ultra suede,
00:54:05because actually it feels kind of like suede,
00:54:07but it's not animal, which I think is great.
00:54:09Exactly, and it's washable.
00:54:11It is.
00:54:12And so there's this whole,
00:54:13this dot right here on the template.
00:54:15So we're going to take this needle,
00:54:16and feed it through.
00:54:17Oh, just put it the other way, okay.
00:54:19Yeah, on the back of the ultra suede.
00:54:21Okay.
00:54:22Take the needle and feed it right through.
00:54:23So that's giving you the mark
00:54:25where your crystal's going to go to,
00:54:27for the closure of the little pouch.
00:54:30So once you have that mark,
00:54:31you can even pull the template away.
00:54:33And I left this long tail,
00:54:35so it's easier to tie off at the end.
00:54:39So now we're going to take our crystal,
00:54:42and you can match it up to whatever set you make.
00:54:44Oh, I see, okay.
00:54:45So that it, yeah, it matches.
00:54:47I'm using this vintage rose.
00:54:48Oh, and just sew it on?
00:54:48And just sew it on.
00:54:49Oh, cute.
00:54:54See, so with that long tail.
00:54:56And then tie it in the back?
00:54:57You just tie it in the back.
00:54:58Oh, easy.
00:54:59Yeah, so easy.
00:55:01So that's going to be your little closure,
00:55:05a little dazzle on your pouch.
00:55:09Because we had two pieces for the set,
00:55:12I've cut another piece of gold.
00:55:13Should we cut this off or not?
00:55:14You can cut that off.
00:55:19Since there's two pieces of jewelry,
00:55:21a bracelet and a heart,
00:55:22I wanted two separate pouches,
00:55:23so that your chain doesn't get tangled.
00:55:26So I have this section,
00:55:28which I've cottaged also on the template.
00:55:30So we're going to just glue this in with Fabri-Tac.
00:55:32So Martha, open it up like this,
00:55:34and we're going to, on the pink,
00:55:36you're just going to do the side, the bottom,
00:55:40and back up the side, like that.
00:55:45The side and the bottom.
00:55:46Yep, the sides and the bottom, not the top.
00:55:48And then close it like that.
00:55:51And Fabri-Tac is a very strong seal.
00:55:55It is, it works great.
00:55:56It's like stitching it, but gluing it, so it's fast.
00:56:00And then, so that's one pouch in the front.
00:56:04And then we're going to do the glue on the back part.
00:56:06And this time, we're just going to do the sides.
00:56:10One side, two side.
00:56:13And what's going to go there?
00:56:14So that's where your bracelet's going to go.
00:56:16Nothing, look, close it like that.
00:56:17Oh, I see, how easy.
00:56:19So now you have a little pocket for the bracelet.
00:56:22I'm sure everyone at home knows exactly
00:56:24what we're doing, right?
00:56:26You're not at all confused.
00:56:27Okay, so there, that goes.
00:56:28So it's a two-pocket pouch.
00:56:30Okay.
00:56:31And the clever thing about this pouch
00:56:32is I've included a heart.
00:56:35And I cut the heart, it's on the template here.
00:56:38And I punched it with this Martha Stewart screw punch.
00:56:41I love this tool.
00:56:43And we're going to, so the best way to glue this on,
00:56:45Martha, is just put it on the closure
00:56:47through the little hole.
00:56:49This is the easiest way to line it up.
00:56:50I was trying to figure out the best way to do it.
00:56:52And now flip it over, and we're just going to put glue
00:56:54on the lobes of the heart here.
00:56:59Oh, you're so clever, Kristen.
00:57:01I learned it from you, Martha.
00:57:04You inspire me to do these things.
00:57:07Okay, so there, very simple.
00:57:09So now you can open this, and you can put your
00:57:13So we can put the heart in the
00:57:14Heart in the front pocket.
00:57:15Right.
00:57:16And the bracelet in the second pocket.
00:57:18Yep.
00:57:19Okay.
00:57:20And what a great present.
00:57:22This treat bag looks really sweet on the outside,
00:57:25but inside there is a hot surprise
00:57:28for your special someone.
00:57:30These are called Lava Balls.
00:57:31Ever try it?
00:57:33Very fun.
00:57:34And you can make this little gift.
00:57:35You can make a bunch of them.
00:57:36Give them to your kids' teachers, to your friends.
00:57:39It's just a nice little thank you for being a loved one.
00:57:44Valentine's Day treat bags using the Martha Stewart Punches.
00:57:50And the bags are from a place called highgloss.com.
00:57:55You can get these in craft stores.
00:57:57And they generally come with kind of a serrated top
00:58:00and this little thumb inset.
00:58:04Cut that off.
00:58:05Cut it right off.
00:58:06And cut one bag about a quarter of an inch shorter
00:58:10than the other bag.
00:58:11And then you can cut the, using our punches,
00:58:15these are, we have some very nice Valentine's Day themes.
00:58:19You can just start in the center, punch,
00:58:24and you already have one scallop with three little hearts.
00:58:28And match this up here and you can cut your next,
00:58:34there, next scallop.
00:58:37That's a good one.
00:58:38I have to trim that off.
00:58:39Just went a little too close.
00:58:42And this one, there.
00:58:46And then this one you can use, oh, I love this punch.
00:58:48This is our newest punch,
00:58:50which you can put any place on the page, anywhere.
00:58:55It's punch all over the page, it's called.
00:58:57And this is gonna go right in the center of our bag.
00:59:00And you have to make sure that you match up this flat side.
00:59:04It's held in place by a very strong magnet.
00:59:07You can see right there.
00:59:09If perchance you get this on the wrong spot,
00:59:12you can just pull the bag like this, just adjust.
00:59:15But mine seems to be exactly in the right spot.
00:59:18And just punch like that and release.
00:59:22Look what happens.
00:59:24It's a really, this is the greatest punch.
00:59:27And you know, when you're doing stuff
00:59:30and you have big sheets of paper,
00:59:31you're always looking, okay, your punch
00:59:33will not go any further than that far on the edge.
00:59:36This is your solution.
00:59:38It is a brilliant, brilliant solution.
00:59:40So then put your one bag inside the other.
00:59:44Keep this flat like they do in the grocery store.
00:59:47You learn from, I'm sorry, the other way.
00:59:50No, that's right.
00:59:52Put this on the inside.
00:59:55So you have a little bit of lace petticoat.
00:59:57We're gonna have that special, special sew-on.
01:00:00Everyone in the audience is also going home
01:00:02with a three-month free subscription to Match.com.
01:00:05That's what I want.

01:00:18but she has not fixed me up with my new husband.
01:00:20No, I'm on it.
01:00:21I am on it.
01:00:22She owes me big time.
