Miss Canada Emma Morrison Interview : భారత్ రావటానికి కంటే ముందే తనకు ఇక్కడ స్నేహితులు ఉన్నారని వారితో కలిసి హోలీ వేడుకలు జరుపుకోవటం గొప్ప అనుభూతి కలిగించిందని మిస్ కెనడా ఎమ్మా మోరిసన్ అంటున్నారు.

00:00Hi, is this the first time that you are visiting India and Hyderabad?

00:15Yes, it is my first time but it won't be my last because Hyderabad and the hospitality here,

00:21I'm going to tell my family and friends back in Canada that we need to come back here.

00:25Are you going to take them here?

00:27I hope so and I hope to bring them back to the Trident Hotel.

00:30The staff have been so accommodating and the food has been delicious.

00:34Oh my goodness, I am really enjoying my time here.

00:37There are so many Indians, they'll come to the US and Canada.

00:40Canada is the most go-to place for Indians also.

00:43So have you found any persons there, you met with them, any Indians you met in Canada?

00:48Of course, there's many Indians in Canada and most recently I went to the Holly Festival

00:53with some of my Indian friends in the city of Ottawa.

00:56So I was able to experience the very vibrant and colourful traditions and celebrate with them.

01:02Did they give you any tips while you are coming to India?

01:05Yes, they told me to try the food and it has been so delicious and also just take lots of pictures,

01:12enjoy every moment, put on your running shoes because there will be lots of walking around

01:16and today we are going to go for more tours.

01:19We went to go visit the Charminar.

01:21So I am very glad I wore flat shoes so I could really enjoy the moment and not have to worry about tripping in my heels.

01:27So these are the bangles I think, so you bought it from Charna, right?

01:32Is this the only pair that you bought or any other things?

01:35I bought these pairs and then I also got a purse that was gifted to me along with a very beautiful dish.

01:41And then also at our welcome dinner I was able to receive henna as well.

01:46So this was my first time getting henna and I love it, I hope it lasts very long.

01:51But I am so in love with the bangles.

01:53After the Miss World Festival is over, I am spending a couple more days here to really soak in Hyderabad

01:59with my family when they come and watch me.

02:01So I am going to go bring them to the La Bazaar by the Charminar.

02:04So I wish you would go for much shopping there.

02:07Yes, I packed a whole other suitcase just to put my art and my shopping bags.

02:14So I have room in my suitcase for that purpose.

02:16And you have to pay more at airport also.

02:18That's okay because you know it's not every day I get to visit India so I want to make the most of it when I am here.

02:24So when you became Miss Canada and you announced that you are going to represent Canada in Miss World,

02:30how have you felt at that time?

02:32My time as Miss World Canada has been incredible.

02:35I was crowned Miss World Canada all the way back in November of 2022.

02:39So it was quite the journey.

02:41But as the first Indigenous woman to win Miss World Canada, I knew I wanted to make a lasting impact.

02:47So I worked very hard.

02:49I've completed over 100 Beauty with the Purpose events, spoken to over 10,000 students across Canada

02:55and raised close to $10,000 for my own Beauty with the Purpose project.

02:59So my time as Miss World Canada has been nothing short of incredible.

03:02Actually friends are our best critics, if you agree.

03:05So is there any particular friend who becomes your first critic and what did they say when you mentioned that you are going for Miss World?

03:15I don't believe I received many criticism but more so support.

03:20I can't think of anything that has been a setback because my family and my friends have always encouraged me with whatever I decided to do.

03:29So when I told the very first person that I wanted to compete at Miss World Canada, it was my dad.

03:35And he told me just to try my best and he's always been there since day one.

03:41In fact, he flew all the way from Canada with me to Hyderabad.

03:45He just left a couple days ago to make sure that I rise safely.

03:49And of course I did because the hospitality has been like no other here in India.

03:54So what are the things that you heard when you are in Canada about India?

03:58And what have you experienced really other things?

04:01That I will be arriving during peak summer.

04:04So I heard to prepare for the heat.

04:07But honestly, it's not as hot as I thought it was going to be.

04:11Being that I'm Canadian, we have more colder weather.

04:14So I was expecting to melt like a snowman.

04:17But I have been very, it's been pleasant.

04:20It hasn't been like very, very hot for me.

04:23So that was something that I was getting myself prepared for by people telling me prepare for the heat.

04:29But it's been good so far. Yeah.

04:32Actually, it is raining from last four days. That's why the weather is a bit cold.

04:36Oh, okay. Good to know. Good to know.

04:39So what are the places other than Charna you visited here in Telangana particularly?

04:44The other places on the agenda are to be determined.

04:48But I really want to go see Ramanji Film City.

04:51So I really hope that that is also on the agenda for Miss World.

04:54Because as an avid movie lover myself, I watch movies all the time.

05:00And I really can't wait to go there and just soak in the experience and also learn more about Bollywood.

05:06Because it's not something that I grew up watching.

05:09But since I love movies, I want to dive deeper into Bollywood.

05:13So what is the best movie that you watch? Indian movies that you watch?

05:16You know, I haven't watched too many Indian films, but I plan to.

05:21After Ramanji Film City, I'm sure I'm going to get lots of recommendations.

05:25And I have a 16-hour plane ride back to Canada.

05:28So I'll definitely be watching in and tuning in to more Indian movies on that flight.
