00:00Former striker and EFL pundit Don Goodman has advised Aaron Ramsey to think twice before accepting the Cardiff City manager's job, should it be offered.
00:12The Wales captain stepped in to oversee the final three games of the season but failed to secure a win as Cardiff slipped into League One for the first time in 22 years.
00:23Although the club has started the process of appointing a new manager, Ramsey has expressed a clear intention to continue playing, with the 2026 World Cup still firmly in his sights.
00:35Should it be considered it's likely to be on a player-manager basis, an ambitious ask for a club lacking a strong football structure.
00:42Speaking to Boyle Sports, Goodman said,
00:44If ever the term basket case applied to a club, it's Cardiff City.
00:49It's an absolute mess. You have to ask what manager would want to take a League One job under an ownership with such a poor track record.
00:58He added,
00:59If Ramsey weren't a Cardiff lad and a fan, I doubt he'd be seen as a candidate.
01:04It's hard to see him managing a League One team at this stage.
01:08Goodman also compared the instability at Cardiff to that of Watford, warning that quality candidates may avoid the job altogether due to ownership issues.
01:18To go on again, you know, you've seen it happen a load of times with different teams over the years and they have taken a step back to go on, to go forward again.
01:27So, you know, I feel like this is a great opportunity now for this club and it gives it a platform then to go on and to sort of, you know, that sort of launch platform.
01:38Meanwhile, Cardiff City supporters trust chairman Keith Morgan raised concerns that owner Vincent Tan might ignore the advice of a newly formed subcommittee tasked with finding the next manager.
01:51Elsewhere, Portsmouth boss John Mazzino responded to Alex Robinson's decision to reject a permanent move to Fratton Park last summer.
01:59The midfielder instead joined Cardiff, who were mid-table at the time, but now finds himself facing League One football regardless.
02:06Mazzino said he holds no ill will and supports the player despite the outcome.
