00:31the first of several railroad attractions began chugging through Frontierland's wilderness.

00:36Ultimately, this land would one day be traversed by the high-speed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

00:41Back in the 1950s, it was explored at the more sedate speeds of the mine train,

00:46a common nickname for the Rainbow Cavern's mine train.

00:49Built for under half a million dollars, guests sat in open cargo cars

00:53behind a small old-fashioned engine ran by an electric motor.

00:57Board the mine train for a trip into the living desert and through beautiful rainbow caverns.

01:02As your train enters the hot, arid desert, take a look at those cacti.

01:07Why, they almost look human.

01:08Watch out for those balancing rocks.

01:15When Walt first rode the train, he was unhappy with the spiel

01:22conductors braked the train by releasing sand onto the wheels.

01:26The Rainbow Cavern's waterfall circulated over 270,000 gallons of water every hour

01:32to create the multicolored waterfalls.
