00:25Welcome aboard, friends. This is Captain Collins.
00:28Now, first let me assure you that TWA has taken every precaution for your safety during this flight.
00:33We're proud of our safety record, and aside from a few brief moments of...
00:37The original rocket to the moon in Tomorrowland took guests on simulated lunar flights.
00:41The updated flight to the moon simulator basically worked the same way as its predecessor,
00:47by showing the receding Earth on one screen and an approaching moon on another.
00:51But the new journey was much more authentic and technically advanced,
00:55in addition to accommodating more guests, the attraction boasted more and better effects inside the ship,
01:02including a brief moment of weightlessness and offered views of astronauts on the moon.
01:07Even more impressive was an elaborate new mission control area on display before the launch.
01:12Previously, the pre-flight area had been confined to a plane room where a short film was shown.
01:18Now it was a complex computer-lined area populated with audio-animatronic scientists.
01:22The busy team was headed by a sophisticated audio-animatronic character named Tom Morrow,
01:28the director of mission control.
01:30Morrow described the about-to-launch lunar transport flight 92,
01:34and directed guests to look at wall monitors and catch humorous footage of a supposed UFO
01:39that turned out to be a clumsy incoming bird.
01:42As ambitious as the flight to the moon update was,
01:45it still fell short of the bold concept illustration sketched out by artist Bill Walsh,
01:50who had originally depicted the flight heading to Saturn and beyond.
01:54The end of the day of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night of the night
