This was a meta-analysis of 20 randomized control trials involving over 1,100 people, adults, with depression and anxiety.

And they gave them probiotics daily for anywhere from 1 to 24 weeks, ranging across the different studies.

The results showed that those who took probiotics, compared to those who took a placebo,

had significant, clinically significant improvements in their symptoms of depression and anxiety.

And in regards to depression, it was with a large effect size.

So, a very significant improvement.

And regarding anxiety, it was a moderate effect size.
