00:38:21so currently he certainly will be under a lot of scrutiny as he's come back after this re-engineered
00:38:30action and no doubt would be looking to try and prove himself empires no doubt will also have a close
00:38:38look at him only the fourth match for james curtley he's taken three wickets south jasuria quite a
00:38:47daunting challenge for the young man whose uh bowling action has had to be re-modified
00:38:52the cameras will certainly be on james curtley
00:39:08it's not always easy to come back uh from um an action which has been re-modified so certainly he
00:39:13would have to be thinking about this all the while james curtley and uh this young bowler would uh no
00:39:19doubt uh be telling himself that let's hope everything's clear

00:39:33you can re-modify can you i think you can modify something but if you re-modify what you do you

00:41:19catch that was a perfectly struck shot and just look at nasa hussein he's airborne and just clinging
00:41:27on to that a great catch and he said he's delighted and that is to see the back of jasuria that's
00:41:33something england really wouldn't have bargained for at this stage so jasuria departs

00:41:48marvin adepadu is the new batsman for sri lanka probably as amazed as everyone else on this ground
00:41:54with the fantastic catch that nasa hussein has brought off but sri lanka have lost jasuria this
00:42:00is hoggard now to marvin adepadu a huge blow for sri lanka the loss of sanat jasuria as it is just
00:42:09getting into his stride is looking confident but what a great catch just have a look at it again
00:42:16jasuria drives firmly a powerful blow and hussein extended to the fullest and clings on to it and
00:42:23that certainly was a great one we wouldn't find very many better than that
00:42:31i suppose the cynics might say where was the ball when he landed

00:42:48before the first wicket went down that was nick knight he went for 20 sri lanka with sanat jasuria

00:51:23to play for england you get the feeling this is going to be his moment certainly had it today
00:51:29poor i'm not quite sure stewart saw that at all he's he's not gesturing through the bowler as well but
00:51:38he reacted very very late well it's very difficult to anticipate a bottom edge that's what happened
00:51:50there it is uh it wasn't a bottom edge but uh i don't think he picked it up the ball bounced a little
00:51:56bit more on uh atapatu than he anticipated yeah watch alex too there he hasn't moved

00:52:31pace it's just going to be clobbered for runs but irani has to be bold because he's been brought in
00:52:38the side because he can bat and bowl a bit i think whether he bowls in the first 15 overs or whether he
00:52:45bowls in the later overs he's going to be taken for runs maybe not for the boundaries after the field
00:52:50restrictions are removed but still that is one bowler sri lanka and india will say to themselves
00:52:56this is one bowler when he comes in to bowl we should milk him for runs

00:54:47and see it's all right bowling quick we'll ball it on his legs and that's gone away for runs it's about
00:54:55where you bowl the ball not always how quick it is
00:54:59and i think he needs to just think a little bit more about his body his bowling rather i think for for andy flintoff it's uh
00:55:10it's rare for him to go so long without an injury he's had so much back trouble
00:55:14and he's probably so thrilled with himself that's giles there doing the fielding
00:55:18but i think andy's got to start thinking about where he puts the ball
00:55:24oh that's four there you are you see that's unlucky i can't do much about that that's sort of just
00:55:31batsmen playing a poor shot waving the bat around and he's luckily got an outside edge he's no footwork at
00:55:37all but andy just start believing that bowling's not just running up and banging the ball in
00:55:44you're going to get moments like that you can't do anything about

00:56:14well i think anybody who's seen apipatu bat knows that he basically is a backfoot player
00:56:20he likes to stay back he doesn't come forward a long way
00:56:24and when we see the the replay of this you'll see there's not a lot of footwork it's just a little
00:56:29bit of a shuffle forward he stood up and so he spoons it in the air and then what happens after
00:56:36that that's up to the field it's just a brilliant catch but it wasn't a great shot to hit it in the air
00:56:41flintov doesn't mind it's a wiki england don't care they needed that wiki 91 for two
00:56:50nila jaywardana comes out to the center
00:56:56100 matches averaging 32 really not done justice to his talent or potential
00:57:01that's shipped in the air extremely well played

00:57:16mahila jaywardana he's a good player of the spinners this shows the kind of confidence he has
00:57:22at the moment good test series not afraid to use his feet straight away this is lovely shot gets a
00:57:29little bit leg side so he can ease it inside out over extra cover doesn't try to hit it too hard he's clever
00:57:35enough smart enough just to chip it with a nice proper cricket shot that's what they want they want
00:57:43some proper cricket shots just keep it ticking along nicely it's daft shots silly shots they're gonna lose
00:57:51wickets that's what's gonna lose them the match good sensible cricket might just might win it for him 101 for two
00:58:02now that's four see what i was talking about just banging it in short of a length
00:58:06is not enough especially when you've got a good pitch good batsman nice light
00:58:12if he keeps banging it in there jayward is gonna kill him you've got to pitch it up
00:58:18this is a fine shot he's got on top of it nicely kept the ball to ground the placement is good
00:58:28this is why if you're in the fielding side when you're playing against a team like sri lanka
00:58:32you can never afford to relax even if they lose a wicket they keep coming hard at you
00:58:40oh he does have some edges on that bat
00:58:42well this is frustrating for the bowler very little ashley giles can do about that
00:58:51or for that matter the captain a nice way to end the over if you're a sri lankan 115 for two
00:59:03that's a beautiful shot just had to beat the man there at backward point
00:59:06at the moment he did that it was four hit that really hard
00:59:16the wonderful young player maila jayward and every time you see him play you want to
00:59:20you want to see a little more that's always an indication of a very high quality player
00:59:26for the years he's earned a reputation as someone who does all the hard work and throws it away
00:59:31he's averaging 50 in international cricket and that's fantastic
00:59:41swept away beautifully timed precision mark fielder at short fine leg did not move sri lanka cruising along
