00:00On the night of 8th and 9th, starting as early as 22, 30 hours, our cities had a mass raid of drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, U-caps, starting right from Srinagar, going down right up to Naliyah.
00:21It was a mass raid in waves and it was relentless. However, we were prepared and our air defense preparedness ensured that there is no damage on ground or to any of the intended targets that the enemy might have planned for.
00:42The difference between 7th night and 8th night was that on 7th night, he sent in his YIHA class of UAVs. However, these UAVs can go some distance, they are armed.
01:00However, on the 8th, less numbers of armed U-caps were there or UAVs were there and more numbers of quadcopters, maybe for surveillance or just for harassment of civilians.
01:14This continued till midnight. Our air defense preparedness ensured that there was no damage, that he wanted to up the ante and he wanted a fight and we were up to the task.
01:30In a measured and calibrated response, we once again targeted his military installations, which included his SAM sites at Malircant.
01:48This also included his surveillance radar sites at Lahore and close to Gujarawala.
02:00These were suitably addressed and thereafter, his drone attacks continued even till morning, which we countered, and during the daytime, there was some respite.
02:17Here, I would like to bring out another aspect. What we found was that while the drone attacks were being launched from somewhere close to Lahore,
02:25the enemy had allowed his civilian aircraft to also continue to fly out of Lahore, not only his own aircraft, but international passenger aircraft,
02:37which is quite insensitive and we had to exercise extreme caution, even at the cost of some tactical disadvantage,
02:48to ensure that there is no damage to any of the civilian aircraft and this was also brought out in our press briefing during the day.
02:58On land, we also undertook certain measures such as deployment of air defense and electronic warfare assets
03:09to establish an integrated grid with the Indian Air Force.
03:15And I have seen and heard some of you wax eloquent about the benefits of such an architecture
03:21when it comes to negating and combating air intrusions.
03:26We also carried out deployment to include movement of our forces in the land, sea, and air domains.
03:35The night of the 9th and the 10th of May saw similar intrusions by drones and aircrafts.
03:43And this time, there was a concerted effort to target airfields and some very, very important logistic installations,
03:53albeit yet again unsuccessful and denied gallantly and efficiently, I must say,
04:00by the integrated Indian Air Force and Indian Army Air Defense.
04:05We further strengthened our deployment and also initiated some pressure points to send a very clear
04:12and unambiguous message to the other side to desist from any misadventures on land.
04:20Some of the airfields and dumps saw repeated attacks in waves from the air.
04:26All were thwarted.
04:28The Pakistan Army has reported to have lost approximately 35 to 40 personnel in artillery
04:38and small arms firing on the line of control between the 7th and the 10th of May.
04:45What the other side had probably also not reckoned with was the speedy and precise turnaround
04:52and hit back by the Indian Air Force.
04:56And I will yet again ask Air Marshal Bharti to speak about these significant and game-changing strikes.
05:04I will thereafter request Vice Admiral Pramod, my colleague and Director General of Naval Operations,
05:12to tell us about some very telling naval maneuvers in the Arabian Sea
05:17that exerted pressure on the night of 9th and 10th of May.
05:23Over to you, sir.
05:26Commencing about 20 hundred hours, that is 8 p.m. local time, on 8th of May,
05:31several Pakistani unmanned aerial systems, drones, combat vehicles, attacked multiple IF bases.
05:41These included Jammu, Udhampur, Pathankot, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Nal, Dalhousie, Thoys,
05:48Jaisalmer, Uttarlay, Swalodi, Naliyah.
05:51These were almost simultaneous and they came in waves.
05:54All our AD guns and other systems were waiting for them.
06:03All these waves were neutralized by our trained crew using the edifice systems that they have.
06:13And also, some of them were utilized using our legacy systems like pechoras.
06:20And I.F. Samar, which we have recently acquired.
06:29And some were neutralized by the Garur snipers.
06:34There was no damage on ground from these incursions and these mass raids,
06:41if I could call them, from the Pakistani side.
06:43However, following these relentless attacks on our air bases,
06:52on our forward positions, and on our civilian targets,
06:56this was time to convey some message to our adversaries.
07:04And therefore, a decision was taken to strike where it would hurt.
07:13And towards that, in a swift, coordinated, calibrated attack,
07:22we struck his air bases, command centers, military infrastructure,
07:33air defense systems, across the entire Western Front.
07:37The bases we struck include Chaklala, Rafiki,
07:42and mind you, Chaklala is Islamabad.
07:45Rahimiya Khan, Sakar, sending a clear message
07:50that aggression will not be tolerated.
07:54This was followed by strikes at Sargoda, Bolari, Jacobabad.
08:01We also struck the C2 centers at Murid,
08:07the UAE complex at Murid, Rafiki, radar at Chuniya,
08:12which I will show you, Rahimiya Khan, airfield,
08:16and the unmanned combat aerial vehicle hangar at Sakar.
08:24I would like to reiterate here
08:26that we have the capability to target every system
08:30at these bases and more.
08:33However, it was only a measured response
08:37to instill good wisdom to our adversary
08:39to refrain from further escalation.
08:43IAS response was directed only at military installations,
08:48avoiding civilian and collateral damage.
08:51I would now like to show you some of the effects
08:54that have been achieved as a result of our air operation.
08:57Here is the Pasrur air defense system,
09:08if you could see.
09:10Zoomed up view,
09:11this is the radar mounted on a high tower.
09:16Now, and after the strike...
09:33Can you hear me?

10:00Not very clear.
10:01But what you see very clearly
10:03is the after effect after we have stuck.
10:07The radar head has been completely decapitated.

10:29Next.
10:32Now, coming to Sargoda airfield.
10:34Remember, this is one of their important airfields,
10:38wherein they have a lot of assets,
10:39F-16s, other assets which they keep getting,
10:44training institutes.
10:48And we have stuck this airfield.
10:51It is not...
10:52If you zoom in here,
10:54then one impact point here on the runway
10:56and second impact point of our weapon,

11:21and one complex here.
11:24So this is how it looked before.
11:26And same.
11:27You see a big crater,
11:29another crater here.
11:30And this complex,

11:41Noor Khan.
11:42Once again,
11:43a major airbase.
11:44A lot of their logistics assets out here.
11:47This was the chosen complex
11:48that we needed to...
11:49we intended to strike
11:51and convey a message.
11:53Next slide, please.
11:55This is how it looked before
11:56and this is how it looked
11:59after our strike.

12:06We chose the radar site
12:07at Sakkar.

12:45Jakobabad.
12:50Aircraft hangar.
12:52And this is how it looked
12:53after.
12:54Next.
12:56So what I am trying
12:56to convey here,
12:57ladies and gentlemen,
12:59is to start with,
13:01our fight was neither
13:03with the Pakistani military
13:04nor with anybody else
13:06who is there
13:07on the other side.
13:09Our fight
13:10was with the terrorists.
13:12We neutralized the terrorists
13:13that we selected
13:14to be neutralized
13:15and thereafter
13:17we only maintained
13:19the air defense posture.
13:21However,
13:22we were relentlessly
13:23pounded by waves
13:25after waves,
13:26night after night
13:26by his U-caps,
13:28by his drones
13:29and by his
13:31unmanned aerial,
13:32other unmanned aerial systems.
13:34And that left us
13:35with no choice
13:36but to retaliate
13:38and yet
13:39our retaliation
13:40was calibrated.
13:41It was graduated.
13:43And it was proportionate.
