00:00Over 1,200 service members, law enforcement professionals, government officials and other
00:04participants from 24 nations gathered at Tetron Barracks in Chagramas for the closing ceremony
00:10of Tradewinds 2025. The Tradewinds exercise is a series of military training operations
00:16sponsored by the U.S. South Command, which seeks to promote greater collaboration while
00:21enhancing the operational capacities of regional militaries. This year's exercise lasted from
00:26April 26th to May 8th and is the 40th edition of the exercises. In addition to troops from
00:33the U.S. and the Caribbean, military personnel from Colombia, Mexico, the U.K. and France
00:39also participated in this year's exercises. Speaking of the ceremony was commander of the
00:45United States Southern Command, Admiral Alvin Holsley. The threats and challenges we face in
00:51this hemisphere resonate far beyond these shores. Dr. Martin Luther King once observed
00:58that all life is interrelated. He believes, as do I, that we are caught in an inescapable
01:04network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. What affects one directly affects
01:11us all indirectly. Minister of Defense Wayne Sturge congratulated the law enforcement officers.
01:18During his speech, the minister said he is hoping for continued partnership with all the nations.
01:23As we prepare to part ways, let us not see this as an end, but rather a reaffirmation of a promise
01:33that when our region calls, we will answer not as many, but as one. May you carry the spirit of
01:43cooperation and shared strength with you as you return to your respective countries. And may the seas
01:50you cross, the skies you fly, and the ground you stand upon remain safe and secure through our
01:58continued partnership.
