00:16The incident occurred on Monday when a PLA Navy ship, identified by its bow number 573, conducted a risky maneuver near the BRP Emilio Jacinto.
00:26At the same time, another Chinese warship with bow number 554 closely tailed the Philippine vessel.
00:33Both Chinese warships are part of the Jinkai-2-class frigates and were accompanied by a China Coast Guard vessel.
00:40The encounter took place approximately 11 nautical miles southeast of Scarborough Shoal,
00:46amidst ongoing maritime patrol operations by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, or BFAR,
00:52and the Philippine Coast Guard, or PCG, with support from the Philippine Navy.
