00:30hello and welcome to wrestle talk and we have been invaded by none other than the fun house
00:38of pogo the clown today he's got three ropes a squared circle and he's ready to fight anybody
00:44that wants to get in the ring with him pogo the clown how are you doing sir i'm doing great there
00:49buddy uh it's been a while since we've spoken so it's good to get back on it absolutely and uh for
00:56those of you that don't know pogo the clown is a jpwa graduate and he is in australia fighting for
01:01upw currently and he got teamed up with somebody who's a little bit crazier than he is uh for the
01:08saturday march 29th you know aussie world that was going to be taking place there on the sunshine
01:13coast uh how did you get teamed up with 13 so he's uh he's actually my tag partner for quite a while
01:21now we did have a little bit of a little bit of a dispute uh before i got to the jpwa but we've
01:27made amends now uh we've been other than that we've been tagging for since like the end of 2019 and
01:35we've been through a bunch of iterations of what we call our tag team the search of tragedy but
01:41the mainstays are myself and 13 and he's he's currently the united pro wrestling champion so
01:47he's a big dude he's 130 kilos i think that works out to 200 and something pounds and uh
01:53in your guys but uh measurements but yeah he's a he's a solid dude he's a we're great tag team we
01:59just have that that sort of mental length that we don't really have to speak to each other half the
02:04time well that's a great place to be especially when you can tell what's going to be happening by
02:08your body language uh that's a wonderful spot to be but uh i've got a wonder man i mean he's a
02:13little bit crazy he he takes it to the extreme on some things and pogo i know you like to play games
02:19you like to have fun inside your ring you like to dance you like to do it all but man how does it
02:24match up perfectly between you two oh we've just i think we've just got that perfect sort of uh
02:30synergy as a tag team where you know he's a super super crazy guy i'm the i'm the sort of fun crazy
02:35guy and anything that like i don't have he's got going on and vice versa and it really fits together
02:42sort of that um that perfect mix of anything i can't do he can do anything he can't do i can do
02:48so it makes us really like gel together as a tag team and that's pretty good and uh you've been
02:54successful with him as you as you mentioned earlier recently mentioned uh you've been really successful
03:00with him uh being on a tear here recently and uh what's it like just being skyrocketed to the to
03:07the ranks of high in professional wrestling in australia there well it's always been good
03:12and uh you know like we we originally on our i think was our initial run as a proper tag team
03:19we actually hold the record in the united pro wrestling for the longest tag team championship
03:24reign ever so you know it's not my first foray into being at the top but it feels good to be back
03:29i gotta say and i see i see casey kazan is in there gotta shout out to him it's been a while love that
03:35dude yeah casey came in and said pogo he's happy that you're on the show tonight uh and you have a lot
03:42of stuff that's going to be coming up you know saturday may 31st you're going to be at the fight
03:47for life eight correct yes yes that's that i am and what's going to be going on there it looks like
03:54a triple threat match am i am i saying that correctly that is correct so fight for life eight it's our
04:00obviously eighth version of this event it's our yearly event that we run for uh cancer research so
04:08every every ticket sold and all up uh 20 of that goes to cancer research which is really great
04:14uh in this triple threat match you know you've got uh three guys that are super solid you know
04:19ricky rembrandt he's a he's now the king rembrandt he's a guy that when i started i sort of looked up
04:26to a lot and you've got dsd which a lot of people call him a snake but you know it's he can try all he
04:32wants but i've heard that he's a he likes to think himself a winner but he's not
04:35this one is for the number one contendership for the featherweight championship as well so big
04:40big championship opportunities come from this so i'm excited not only big championship opportunities

06:50some awesome stuff there pogo so this uh this yeah this has been something i've been trying to work on
06:56for a while and it's uh it finally came to fruition this week so it's it's basically brand new got set
07:03up on monday and with these ones it has all my original designs which as you see it's gone there you've
07:09got the pogo face you've got the weirdo pogo and a recent design that i've made as well which
07:13is the born to clown one and all these i believe they can be ordered anywhere in the world i haven't
07:18heard anything different but with them you've got them in like t-shirts kids shirts jumpers jackets
07:24anything you really need and hopefully soon it'll be another design that you can add and maybe some
07:30other goodies i can add to the store as well and if anyone has any issues ordering uh from overseas
07:35you can always just hit me up and i can mail it out personally for you maybe with a little bit
07:39extra if you're lucky absolutely and pogo there will be uh shipping and handling attached to each

08:05i mean it's really awesome that you're helping out the cancer patients the leukemia survivors
08:10uh those people that are in need constantly in need and yet you're a part of this fight for life
08:16eight i hope that you win this featherweight championship that's going to be coming up
08:20uh what has been the most challenging thing about getting to this point and being in this match
08:26so this is like the featherweight championship is something that i've always sort of
08:31been after you know like i was in upw when the featherweight division was put into place i was the
08:37first match you know i've been there since the inception and i've been there in even in the very
08:43first upw featherweight championship title match and it just feels like over the years over the years
08:48it's just that little bit out of reach and just that little bit out of reach every time
08:52but now you know coming from the jpwa coming from the the time i spent there and and just
08:59how it's grown since then i feel like it's getting closer and closer and just that little bit is all i
09:05need now to just win it and then go on have that championship title match and then win the big one
09:10if you win if you're able to capture that featherweight champion will you be a fighting champion pogo
09:17oh i'll fight absolutely anyone and everyone and if if things align if uh given how the state of the
09:25world is everywhere if i can make it over to america with that championship i will turn that into a
09:30fighting world championship wow that's big big news from pogo the clown guys you heard it right here
09:35first on wrestle talk with rabid beaver now let's get to some not so serious stuff pogo uh i know
09:42that you had a huge match uh not too long back and we're going to show a little bit of footage if it
09:49will decide to open up for me but as you see here uh look at this nice brute that you're going against
09:55it looks like he's got you my goodness what action there you had a slapping match just a little bit
10:01before you danced too yeah so that was from our uh mexican wrestling event so it was not to just have
10:09fun have have some enjoyment as you can see i'm doing the old disco dancing and the worm there so
10:14it was it was honestly a great night all around it was basically a night to let off steam for not just
10:20fans but the guys in the ring as well and as you can see we had some fun with the
10:25some mexican street food as well and i'll let you know now that tortillas hurt a lot more than you
10:30expect when you get slapped you getting slapped with some tortillas yeah they do hurt by the way
10:39i've experienced that yeah i i didn't expect it to be as bad as i thought but like oh that first
10:45one stung a little bit
10:46pogo i can't believe you let him slap you with some tortillas but that's hilarious
10:52i didn't let him you know he hit me before i could hit him first
10:56so uh being overseas you get to meet a lot of interesting people you get to meet a lot of
11:02a lot of different wrestlers from a lot of different areas uh i've got a picture pulled up here talk to
11:07us about it a little bit oh yeah so this is a this is a very old school uh version of the circus so
11:14this is as you can see from the four down the corner there this is from fight for life four
11:18roughly about four years ago and that's uh that's myself on the right it's 13 on the left he had a
11:24little bit of a haircut at the time and in the center that was jinx the our sort of female addition
11:30to the circus uh she i believe she's sort of taken a step away from wrestling at the moment just
11:35because you know life gets in the way sometimes but you know this was this sort of version of the
11:42circus is probably like when we're when we're at the strongest we had tons of fans tons of great
11:48matches tons of uh big reactions you know that was around this time was when we had probably the
11:54biggest reaction i've ever heard from a crowd when we had a big six-man match with us versus another
11:59three-man team and i'm sure i could find footage of it somewhere it's it's gonna it's definitely out
12:06there in the ether but i remember coming out from my entrance and then the crowd was just
12:11like deafening the music like i couldn't even hear our entrance music over the crowd were
12:15just cheering for us so that was it those are some good times that's some loud pop man when you have
12:22the crowd that loud where you can't hear anything gives you goosebumps like every time you think about
12:27it and hear it i still get goosebumps whenever i think about some stuff that happened with harley
12:31man and that that's uh that's one of the things is you hear it for the first time and you've got it
12:35and you said it might be out of there on the interweb somewhere there might be a place where it might be
12:40the old youtubey you know and i believe that you guys are on youtube at upw australia or unitedprowrestling.com.au
12:50is how you can find them we're at upw australia altogether on youtube and uh man they've got
12:56some uh footage here that they've got going on so you can see there's a lot of stuff that happens
13:02here the fans are interested yeah seems like you all have upgraded the stadium as well
13:08yeah that's that uh is an ad we had that was made a couple years ago now so it is a little bit
13:14outdated but that is at our aussie world venue we've obviously increased the size and look at
13:20it a little bit from them uh but yeah like with the united progressing youtube page you can find
13:25matches clips uh highlight videos all kinds of stuff there you go there's there's a picture of me
13:30just scrolling past there yeah right here that was actually one of my last matches before i went
13:35to the jpwa it's a it's a cracker i recommend that one uh but yeah you can see we also have like
13:41a members only as well area as well where you can uh subscribe and get our latest uh events as
13:49they're uploaded uh the sunshine coast one should be uploaded pretty soon if it hasn't been already
13:56i can't remember what how much it is off the top of my head but i believe it's only around like five
14:01something dollars australian so again works out even cheaper for you americans if you want to check
14:07it out there's also a bunch of free events on there too so you get to see not just me as as much
14:12you guys like seeing me you get to see a lot more uh um of the upw group which are full of a bunch of
14:20solid guys and gals so it's definitely worth checking out and uh yeah max able i see your your comment and
14:26i gotta say it's definitely a hard choice between that forearm and nwa or the tortillas because
14:32the tortillas stung a lot more but uh that forearm hurts straight away yeah
14:38well you know max uh has recently accomplished a lot in the board of professional wrestling
14:45becoming the som and the east tennessee heavyweight champion now he's lost that since uh since this
14:51has happened but he's accomplished that and i believe he needed that boost of confidence
14:56and uh pogo i think that he's one of the first people that would challenge you if you ever came
15:03back to america on american soil would you give him the opportunity absolutely max able was another
15:09great dude that i got to spend some time with and i think uh we both owe each other one from him
15:15giving me that wicked forearm that the ref thought he knocked me out with and me getting him back with
15:20the super kick that split his lip open at a birthday party so we're both giving each other one back so
15:26now i think it's it's time to get back on the even ground and just meet each other in the middle
15:31sort of thing and have a just an absolute just fun time yeah it's all it's what i'm all about
15:36absolutely and uh we've got some tag team titles that have gone overseas as well i don't know if you
15:43know them or not but the blockbusters are holding the jcp tag team titles in england currently and
15:50they have made mention to you through facebook several times saying that they would be interested
15:56in doing the match between you and 13 and themselves would you be interested if that ever arose
16:02that would be that would be honestly great not just to wrestle the blockbusters because i unfortunately
16:07never got to meet them in person in my time in jpw we just missed each other both times
16:12but not just to wrestle the blockbusters but to wrestle for the jcp nwa tag team titles would be
16:19just a great honor uh especially in my home country of australia now another another guy that
16:26is actually in australia now carl parker is a guy that we've definitely we've definitely spoken about
16:31meeting each other in the ring at some point for sure he's here for a while now so there's definitely
16:37just a matter of when not if so there might be a jpwa versus jpwa alumni uh match happening
16:44in australia so hopefully sooner than later and the sexy cowboy would definitely give you a run for
16:49your money i know that for a fact especially both you dr tom trained as you were talking about being
16:53jpwa kids and uh he would put on a show for the world to see let's just call it like that they might
17:00have to censor it if uh it goes to television i don't know like i i think i think we can keep it a
17:06little bit pg just for the the sake of uh the footage but uh definitely like he's we've definitely
17:12spoken about uh getting in the ring together we again it's another case of just we've just missed
17:17each other this couple times we've uh would have been in the same area but yeah i can't wait to get
17:23in the ring with him and if the blockbusters ever make their way down to australia like that's going
17:27to be probably the the main match i push for is circus versus the blockbusters absolutely i think
17:33that would be a wonderful match especially since they mentioned it specifically by name
17:37that they would love to wrestle you in 13 directly i think that that would uh definitely set the world
17:43of australia on fire and set the professional wrestling world on fire and then of course if
17:47you get the sexy cowboy for sure and when you come back if you get a little bit of max able on you
17:52you don't ever know the double x superstar if he's all gassed up and ready to go he might be some
17:57trouble pogo especially now he's got two belts under his uh well his belt it's it would be a fun
18:04time to get back in the ring with him we've only really really sort of stood across the ring from
18:09each other at a birthday party at nwa and then in the paul morton cup and i haven't really had a lot
18:15of time to really get into what we both can do so i'd be excited for that one for sure well what else
18:21has been going on in australia i've got to ask well uh it's honestly just wrestling happens you
18:29know it's it's a big it's a big country so i'm mostly just situated around the queensland area
18:34and i don't get a lot of chances to go to another state because it's either a uh it's either 10 hour
18:40drive or a four hour plane flight just to move to another state that has a wrestling unit so that's
18:47always a struggle but uh we've got like a bunch of great uh promotions that are definitely worth
18:53checking out in the other states you've got pro wrestling australia in sydney they last year they
19:00had actually wwe superstar grayson waller come to their event and that was a really cool opportunity to
19:05be there and help out in the show and just sort of see how that runs and you've got mcw which is
19:11probably the next premier wrestling destination and it's melbourne city wrestling my tag partner 13
19:17was actually just there uh and it's a great opportunity for him it's a great opportunity
19:22hopefully for the both of us down the line to do some tag team wrestling and of course in perth that's
19:27the big big news is uh wwe is coming back and you know the local promotion there epw is going to be
19:34running an event in between their saturday and monday shows their wwe so just a lot a lot of great
19:41wrestling just happened all around australia which is great and hopefully now that i've sort of
19:47sort of got a lot of some personal issues i've been going through i can actually start getting out
19:51there and getting the pogo name to have some more fun around it well pogo we wish you well on your
19:57travel we hope that you're able to get to anywhere and everywhere that you want to go and that the
20:00shows are very receptive of you and the people are very receptive of you as we are in america and as
20:07you saw matt bowens came in here they uh the promoter for spcw he says spcw misses you and he
20:13wants to know when you're coming back well like it's it's obviously a tough i think how it goes with
20:19the the immigration stuff going on i won't get too much into that but my plan is to hopefully come
20:25back at least for a month before i eventually move over to america and tennessee and definitely spcw
20:31has got a good place in my heart not just because that's where we trained every night of the week
20:36with jpwa but just seeing the events that they had on they gave me their first shot when i was in
20:42america so i'm eternally grateful for that and it would be awesome to just tear it up with a lot more
20:47of the the guys there not just max able but even some of the newer jpwa graduates and tess and austin
20:54uh logan grove as well like they would love to get in the ring with those guys 100 absolutely and
21:02you may have the opportunity to do that uh especially with one of your friends casey kazana
21:09working for som 505 live and uh he may have the opportunities for you to come in if you ever get
21:17back and get that opportunity to work with those guys what would you say to that that would uh that
21:24would be awesome like and slm was another great place that i felt that made me feel super welcomed
21:29in tennessee you know being being the only australian guy around i traveled by myself to come over there
21:35so i didn't really know anyone so uh jcp spcw and slm were all a bunch of places that i felt just
21:42immediately welcomed so they're always going to be the first places i look up whenever i get back there
21:47and i always keep up to date with them whenever they put out shows and events and all that kind of
21:52stuff so slm has been on a on a huge run lately uh their cobra strikes back show was amazing i got
21:58to see a lot of footage from that and it was awesome seeing just everything come together
22:03seeing the helm hard those guys work and how it just came to be like this great opportunity for
22:09everyone there and also great to see all the kazanas doing their version of a what they call
22:14dancing so that was my that was my favorite part i got a little bit inspired for for my match last
22:20weekend so yeah so it's good to see just how how much everyone is just putting in tons and tons of
22:26effort well not only effort but they're putting in the time they're putting in the attention and
22:32they're making it their priorities and pogo that's something that we don't really speak about a lot
22:37because there's a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that nobody knows but you above a lot of
22:45people have put in a lot of time and a lot of effort and you've worked extremely hard you've done
22:51everything from clean bathrooms to be ring crew to be in ring talent to sell tickets and so much more
22:58speak a little bit about if you want to break into the industry how you can break into the industry
23:04and what are the avenues you can take to get in yeah so obviously in australia it will work a little
23:11bit different uh because there's not a lot of opportunities because everyone's trying to trying
23:15to get in but across the board the best thing you can do is make yourself available you know like if
23:20you if you see shows doing tryouts and it's something you want to do as a wrestler that's the perfect
23:26slot in if you're just looking to come along help out and volunteer that's another great spot to just
23:32come in introduce yourself let them know that like hey i'm willing ready willing and able to do whatever
23:38needs to be done because that's that's probably the the greatest resource you can have uh in wrestling
23:44and promotion and promoting wrestling is having people that are willing to do the jobs that need
23:49to be done because obviously it's it's a very tough life you know you've got travel you've got taking the
23:54bumps you've got doing the matches the long days long nights all that kind of stuff so having people
24:00that are rearing and ready to go to just get in set the ring up get it done is more important than
24:07anything else i believe and if you're looking to get into it the best thing you can do is just reach
24:12out like if you don't if you're not reaching out you know you're never going to get opportunities so
24:17the more you reach out the more you offer your health more you offer your time that really speaks
24:22volumes to not just wrestlers but promoters podcasts like anyone that can see you putting in
24:28that effort it goes way way further than even if you're like wrestling all the time in gym all the time
24:35if you have a bad attitude you know none of that matters good attitude is what matters most of all
24:39good attitude good work ethic and a willing spirit to do whatever is asked of you
24:45that's correct i've told it many times you know we started with harley race and we we used to work
24:50in missouri with him at the old facility that was out there the old storefront facility and um we would
24:56set up chairs we would clean toilets we would sell concessions we sold tickets we did we put the ring up
25:02we tore the ring down we did everything that was asked of us or required of us and we paid dues on
25:08top of it so there was a do fee at that point in time you know uh you're coming to training you're
25:13going to pay your dues so and even if you got in the ring or not you still had to pay because you
25:18were there you know and uh that's kind of one of the unhold secrets of professional wrestling is
25:23some things have changed there's some things that are still the same but as long as you're willing
25:27to help in any way possible you know i i remember the first day that he pulled me off bathroom duty
25:32and he said i need somebody to set up chairs and i went i'll do it and he went okay come with me
25:37and we just started putting chairs out and from then on i was his chair guy for a while you know
25:42for a couple years so and that's just how it works you know you know you just move up into the industry
25:47and you show yourself faithful and you work on something and eventually you work out of that and
25:52into something else and we got really blessed pogo we got really really blessed by god to meet
25:58the people that we met and to do the things that we've done and you know to have dr tom in our lives
26:02and to have harley race in our lives and and to have the kazanas in our lives i mean we've just been
26:07really blessed god just really blessed us to have all these great connections in professional wrestling
26:12uh to have the strangest to have the mortons all of them and um i i've got to admit you know
26:18some things you just walk into and other things you have to work at and you just have to become
26:23better at it over time and we just walked into this and it worked you know it just worked
26:29and i i can't thank you enough i can't think the kazanas enough i can't think harley race enough
26:34i can't think trevor murdoch enough i can't think the kazanas enough i can't think any of those guys
26:39that have helped me shape me forge me uh to what i'm doing right now and you know what it's paying
26:45dividends now because 15 20 years ago if you would have talked to me and told me that i'd had a talk
26:51show and i'd had a podcast and we'd be doing wrestling full-time i would have told you you
26:55were crazy i'd told you i'd still be setting up chairs and cleaning toilets and maybe selling
27:00tickets and hopefully that's the best it would ever get and that's not you know it just it worked
27:04its way out and i know the same things happened with you is you just showed up and you did whatever
27:09was asked of you and eventually look where it got you i mean you are a superstar at upw right now
27:15and killing it so yeah like when i you talk about like when you start out you're doing all like the
27:22the clean toilets and all that and look if you if you go back eight years now when i started
27:27like even just training like i i was about like 40 kilos lighter than i was now which is roughly about
27:34like 80 pounds you know like i've put on a lot of weight like i when i started i even got told by
27:40the guy running it that i would never be a wrestler just be one of the backstage guys just helping out so
27:46i definitely i was i was in the office i didn't just walk into it and get it i really had to work
27:51for it as well and work my way up not just the ladder but to be a wrestler like i had to fight and
27:58fight and fight and fight so that's why like i'm i'm eternally grateful for my time in tennessee
28:04because it felt like a lot of uh like like dividends like you said i got to meet a bunch of
28:10awesome people that helped me out and could see that i had the work ethic the the mentality and all
28:15that stuff to really push it so that's why i'm extremely thankful to doc and the kazanas yourself
28:21matt bowens for giving me a shot at spcw the strangers for giving me a shot uh and even papa joe
28:28for allowing me opportunities to wrestle on his events too so that that time in jpwa was great
28:35because it it felt like a culmination of everything i've been working for the last seven years and
28:39now that i'm back in australia i have a clear path of where i want to get to how how i'm going to get
28:45there more importantly and i know that i'm going to be supported the whole way because of all the
28:50awesome people that i've met well not only that but i believe that you're going to win this triple
28:55threat match that's going to be taking place at the fight for life eight saturday may the 31st
29:01the aussie sunshine coast arena baby is where it's going to be taking place and you don't want to miss
29:07a minute of the action with pogo the clown that's going to be there uh facing mr rembrandt and dsd
29:13and as you said i don't think those other two competitors stand a chance especially when you turn
29:19in to that killer clown sir would that be fair to say that would be fair to say you know they're
29:25two solid dudes but you know this is this is the run where i think that uh it doesn't matter who you
29:30are it doesn't matter how long you've been doing it doesn't matter how great you think you are it's
29:34always going to be pogo on top it's always going to be the clown having the last laugh so all respect
29:40to king rembrandt and dsd but i'm sorry to say this is this is my match this is my match to win my match to
29:46not just uh catapult myself to the featherweight championship but to show them and everyone
29:53backstage and everyone in the crowd that i will be the next gpw featherweight championship

30:54uh how i present myself and how i act to help those people uh like affected by it and it's not just
31:03not just for leukemia but all kinds of cancer this is obviously for leukemia specifically because
31:08that's what the foundation we're doing this year with fight for life but it's for everyone that has
31:14been affected in some way or another by cancer of any kind and if you guys can't make it to the show
31:20whether you're in australia or america or wherever in the world you are it's a good opportunity to still
31:25feel like you're a part of something and leading on to the next thing any merch i sell for the month of
31:30may will uh go towards that 50 of the profits will go towards uh that giving page and all those
