offer was because there are a number of states represented in this room, both sides of the aisle,

that have had to endure significant additional expenses as a result of the issue we're dealing

with tonight, significant on border spending and so forth. My colleagues from Arizona,

California, New Mexico, Texas, there are important issues that I think need to be dealt with that have

not been dealt with yet in the judiciary product nor in the homeland security product that I think

need to be addressed in the process of the reconciliation. And I just want to make sure

it's clear that to all those, as we go through the reconciliation process, that that is a critical

thing to do because Texas, for example, has had to spend upwards of $12 billion, $12 billion out of

our own budget to deal with the crisis at the border. I know my friends from Arizona in particular

have had similar experiences with the amount that they've had to deal with. And I believe this

needs to be dealt with in due course over the course of the over the course of the reconciliation
