00:01An UMNO leader has urged MCA to remain a loyal partner in Barisan Nacional and to reflect

00:07on its declining support from the Chinese community.

00:11UMNO Supreme Council member Puat Zarkashi was responding to MCA Secretary General Chong

00:17Sinh-Hun, who had urged the party to take charge of its destiny if BN continued to drag its

00:22feet over a clear direction for the coalition.

00:27In a Facebook post, Puat said MCA must ask itself why Chinese support for the party has

00:32declined and why it managed to win only two parliamentary seats in the 15th general election.

00:39He said that Johor MCA Youth Chief Hengzi Li was even more misguided for saying that the

00:44BNPH cooperation was damaging UMNO's future.

00:49He said UMNO's real decline began after BN's defeat in the 2018 general election, but the

00:55party has since made a comeback, citing its wins in the Nangiri, Makota and Ayurkutti by-elections.

01:01Heng yesterday said PH was not saving BN but dismantling it from within, and that blind cooperation

01:08would only render BN parties politically irrelevant.
