00:00Hello there, a very good afternoon to you.
00:03This second half of the weekend is all about north-south contrasts across the UK.
00:07It was quite misty and murky first thing across central and southern regions, but these mist
00:12and fog patches have now been clearing their way off and there'll be a decent amount of
00:15sunshine for these regions as we head into the afternoon.
00:18Further towards the north though, it is a greyer, cloudier theme, quite breezy and damp
00:23as well.
00:24Outbreaks of rain, most persistent for areas of western Scotland that could be heavy for
00:28a time also.
00:29Temperatures will be held back a little bit underneath this cloud and rain, but where
00:33the sunshine prevails further towards the south, we'll be seeing highs of 20 to 22 degrees
00:38Celsius, so it certainly is going to be feeling rather warm if you are in those sunnier spots.
00:44It will stay fine and settled this evening and overnight for the bulk of England and Wales
00:48as well.
00:49While we do still hold on to those clearest skies though, again we'll see some further
00:53mist and fog patches developing as we head into the early hours of Monday and there may
00:58also be a patchy grass frost in some locations as well.
01:01Further towards the north though, the rain is going to be persistent still for north-western
01:05Scotland and with the cloud and the breeze still in play as well, it is going to be a milder
01:09night here, temperatures holding up in double-digit figures.
01:14As we head throughout Monday, it's going to be slow progress for this rain gradually moving
01:19its way ever so slightly northwards.
01:20So, still again for Cape Ness, Sutherland, parts of the Outer Herodes and perhaps even
01:25towards Orkney as well, there will be further outbreaks of rain throughout the day.
01:29But as it continues its journey northwards, there will be a brightening of the skies for
01:32central southern Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, particularly County Down and as well
01:36into Northern England.
01:38Some low cloud perhaps is lingering across the very far south of England, but elsewhere
01:42a good amount of sunshine coming through and that allowing temperatures to respond.
01:46Highs again of 22 degrees Celsius now a bit more widely, but 24 is now likely across some
01:52south-eastern portions of the UK.
01:56With that sunshine though, it is meaning that we do have high and very high levels of pollen
02:01around, particularly across parts of eastern Scotland and down towards England and Wales.
02:05It is oak pollen, oak tree pollen out there at the moment.
02:11For many areas, Monday evening will be a nice fine way to end off the day.
02:15It will turn a little breezier towards the far south coast of England and that is just because
02:19high pressure is reorientating itself.
02:22But with the high pressure staying with us as we head throughout the bulk of next week,
02:26it is going to be staying fine, settled and increasing amounts of sunshine as well, meaning
02:31that day-on-day heating will allow those temperatures to rise even further.
02:35So, seeing those mid-20 Celsius values coming in a bit more widely, with some localised
02:39spots even seeing high 20s as we head towards Wednesday and Thursday.
