00:00An investigation revealed that the 46 artworks lost by the Dutch municipality of Mouse Horse last year probably ended up in bulky waste.
00:09One of the pieces was a silkscreen painting of the Netherlands Queen Beatrix by pop art master Andy Warhol.
00:15The Beatrix piece was part of 16 rare prints of four monarchs in a series by Warhol in 1985 titled Reigning Queens.
00:24The famous piece, along with all the other artworks, are valued around 22,000 euros.
00:28The municipality initially lost the pieces of art as they underwent a renovation project on their facility.
00:35The investigation finds that many of the pieces were stored in the basement and were not handled with care, with some even suffering water damage.
00:44There was also little to no protocol in place, with no specific person assigned responsibility for the art.
00:51It also revealed that they were most likely dumped in trash facilities, a possibility the municipality had already suspected.
