23:51The only other big cat that matches up in terms of size and power is the mighty lion.

23:59So how do they compare the tiger and the lion?
24:04So the biggest lions are males.
24:06A male lion in his prime can get up to be nine feet long and weigh up to 500 pounds.
24:12So how does a lion stack up against a big male Bengal tiger?
24:20If you compare Bengal tigers to lions, they're about the same size.
24:25But the Bengal tiger's cousin, the Siberian tiger, is the largest cat in the world.
24:31The lifestyle of these cats is very different.
24:34Lions are social. Tigers are solitary.
24:36Lions live in prides.
24:39The pride is a unique family group made up of females, offspring, and one or two males.
24:45So lions in Africa live in groups.
24:47But here in India, tigers have a different lifestyle.

24:53A mother tiger and two cubs!
24:57Unlike lions who live in prides, tigers live alone.
25:01Except in the case of a mother with her cubs.
25:03These cubs look like they're about four months old.
25:07And boy, are they playful.
25:10Play is so important to young tigers.
25:12It helps them practice their hunting skills before they go out on their own.
25:18This mother tiger has a radio collar on her because scientists are studying everything they can about these endangered cats and how we can help them.
25:27She's calling for her cubs, making sure they follow her because they don't want to run into a big male tiger.

25:44So lions and tigers have their differences, but both are impressive big cats with incredible creature power.
