00:00Hey everybody, thank you so much for watching another Kitty Corner video here at Magic983.com
00:09with Karma Cat Rescue Society. I'm Debbie Mazzella and we are just going to jump paws in right to it
00:14and start off with upcoming events. And one of them that is going to be so much fun and it's
00:19coming up on January 25th, it is going to be Paint Your Pet at the Artist People on Route 18.
00:24So if you've ever wanted to be a pawcaso, you can do it. It is going to be January 25th from 7 to 9.
00:31All the proceeds benefit Karma Cat Rescue Society. And of course, you get to go home with a lovely
00:36pet portrait of your cat or your dog if you want to paint your dog. So we have all the info on the
00:42Kitty Corner page here at Magic983.com and you can check it out. And there's some more fundraisers
00:48coming up because we're moving into the season of love and we are going to turn it over to Crystal
00:52and she's going to tell you all about it. We're super excited because we have some Valentine's
00:57Day fundraisers. The first is going to be a big adoption event. It's going to be the whole weekend
01:03on the 10th and 11th of February. We have extended hours that weekend, half price adoptions. So we hope
01:10you'll come out. We're going to get you some purrs and kisses for that. There's actually going to be a
01:16kitty kissing booth. So you actually might get some kitty kisses. The second is a really fun event
01:23we're trying out this year. It's a Valentine's Day card fundraiser. We're actually calling it our
01:28sweet and sour Valentine's Day card event. So there's going to be a choice of two different cards,
01:35sweet cards with really cute pictures of kitties on it. And then there's going to be the sour cards,
01:40which might have the other end of the kitties on them. So your choice, maybe send one out for
01:48Valentine's Revenge or to somebody that you love and want to make laugh. So that's really a fun one
01:54that we're doing this year. That should be available starting on February 1st. A huge shout out to all of
01:59you and our gratitude for an amazing 2023. We've just calculated all of the results from last year and
02:07we saved 442 kitties through our adoption and TNR efforts. Another amazing number from last year is
02:15that our merch team raised over $16,700 through their handmade merch and Karma Cat swag. So it's just
02:24incredible. We feel the love. Thank you guys so much for helping us accomplish this. We're looking forward
02:31to this upcoming year and beating those numbers, getting more kitties home. And one of the ways that
02:39you can help us this year to do that is by becoming a townhouse or apartment sponsor. It's a monthly
02:44donation. You get your name up on the townhouse or apartment. You get a certificate and a special
02:50newsletter telling you about the kitties living in your units. It's really awesome. A great way to give a
02:58gift to somebody and support the kitties at the same time. And I love how the ladies who make the merch
03:03call themselves the crazy crafters. So like on their license it says crazy crafter and then it says
03:09crazy cat lady. So there. So they get the two names. We just get the crazy cat lady title. So again, you can
03:15always check out their merch and you can come here to the MAC Center in Milltown. They always have it on
03:20display and of course at all of the fundraisers and you can buy it. My little earrings are from
03:24here too. So we're going to turn it over to Janine because they're always in need here
03:29at Karmacat Rescue Society for volunteers. And you know, even if you've only got an hour or two a week,
03:35they would love to have you. So I'm going to turn it over to Janine. She's going to tell you all about
03:39it. Thanks Debbie. Yes, there are so many ways that you can help volunteer for Karmacat Rescue Society.
03:45So merch and crafting is a big one that we've talked a lot about because it's really an impactful way
03:51to help raise funds. And then you get some really cute, unique items to take home as well. So if
03:58merch and crafting isn't necessarily for you, you can come in and interact with the cats here by being
04:05one of our cleaners. We always need people daily and especially on weekends to come in and help keep
04:12everything so neat and wonderful and in great shape here. And then of course, fostering is super
04:19important. So fosters are a huge reason that we were able to save over 442 kitties this year. And
04:27then another really important need that we're focusing on is getting in more volunteers to help
04:35with fundraising, grants, and marketing. So if you are really good at planning events like our
04:42Valentine's Day event, we're going to be doing even more adoption events this year. And so we do need a
04:48lot of help with decorating and planning those events as well as social media and writing grants.
04:55And so the last part of our video is we're going to talk about some of our featured adoptables. So
05:01Gina will tell you about Sam and Victoria. Now I get to talk about my favorite subject, cats. And I did
05:07want to mention if you've been watching our videos every month, you probably have seen one of our long
05:13time featured adoptables, Anna. And I'm very happy to announce that Anna has been adopted and she is in
05:20her forever home now. So our next longest resident is Sam Adams. And very much like Anna, Sam Adams has to
05:28be the only cat. He's not a fan of other cats, but he has a big personality and he'll fill your home with
05:35love. Sam Adams is a white and black cow kitty. He's seven years old. He is a chonky boy. So he's great for cuddling
05:45up on a cold winter night. He loves to be pet. And he loves to lounge in sunny windows. He's still playful at seven, but
05:54he's past that crazy kitten stage. So he's not going to be climbing your blinds. So if you're looking for a single cat, a
06:02companion while you're watching TV or reading, then Sam Adams might be your man. And you can contact us
06:09for more information or to apply to adopt him. And our other featured adoptable this month is Victoria.
06:17Victoria is super sweet. She's a calico. She's also seven years old. She is an absolute doll. She's on the
06:26quiet side and would prefer a calm, quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle. Perhaps somebody
06:33that works from home or is retired and can spend lots of time with her. She loves to cuddle and she
06:39loves to be pet. And she also loves to lounge by a sunny window. So if you're interested in a chill,
06:46calm, sweet cat, Victoria is a perfect choice. And if you'd like to apply to adopt her or get more
06:54information, you can check out the information on the Kenny Quarter page or on the Karmacat website as
07:02well. And those are our featured adoptables for the month. Let's work on getting more eyes on them
07:07so that Sam and Victoria can find their forever homes. And you know, I would just love to add
07:14something. You know, when Gina says Sam Adams is our longest resident, it doesn't mean that there's
07:19something wrong with him. It just means that he hasn't found the perfect fit yet. And you know,
07:24he wants to be the solo cat in the home. And I have a 13 year old boy at home and he is still spunky
07:30and runs after our newly adopted girl. And so seven years old is not old in cat at all. He will
07:37definitely be playful and he will definitely love you. He's just, you know, one of those like anti-social
07:43cats. So and Victoria kind of the same thing. So just because they're the longest running members of the
07:48rescue doesn't mean that they don't have a love to a lot of love to offer you. So thank you so much
07:54for watching our Kitty Corner video. We look forward to your eyes on our video and more importantly,
07:59your shares of the video and telling people about Karmacat Rescue Society. We will catch you next month.
08:05And if you need any info about the events, fundraisers coming up, you can always click on
08:10the Kitty Corner page here at magic983.com.
08:18And if you have a home and you have the love and you don't want any other cats and I just completely,
08:35completely went off the rails there. Because you love him so much.
08:51Oh, Karmacat, you know, you know, actually, hold on. Wait. Yeah, just let me. Hi, I'm fixing.
09:01All right, there we go. Now it'll, now it's not, um, so we're not like, yeah.
09:08Yeah, that helps, that helps. I love it. I was like, I can't read. I can't read.
09:14All right.
09:21All right.
09:25All right.
09:31All right.
