00:00It's a beautiful sunny Wednesday afternoon and it's great that we are here at Karmacad Zen Dog
00:07Rescue Society in Milltown. I'm Debbie Mazzella. Thank you so much for watching our recent Kitty
00:13Corner video. We have got so much to talk about today and we've got some newbies to introduce
00:18you to and yes I'm talking about cats but I'm also talking about volunteers and we are gonna
00:25hand the microphone over to Janine Manachera. She is the newbie here at Karmacad Zen Dog Rescue Society
00:31and she's got some great muse about some upcoming events that are happening. Thank you Debbie. First
00:37time here. So we have a number of exciting upcoming events. The first one is on Saturday April 1st at
00:45the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market. So this is an event where this is a great opportunity to get
00:51most of our merch. Our kitty crafters have made some amazing things so they're really cute and
00:56you'll want to pick them up. And then the next one is probably the biggest event of the year.
01:01It's paws for celebration. It's on Saturday June 10th at the East Brunswick Elks and this is our
01:09annual gala. So you don't want to miss it because it's our number one fundraiser for the year and
01:14tickets are on sale now on our website. And then finally for all of March this is our big birthday
01:21celebration. Karmacad has been around for 13 years so we are trying to raise $13,000 this March.
01:29So it's a big goal and so check and follow our social media to see how you can help us raise $13,000
01:35this month. I knew March was a good month because Rockstar Cat Cornell celebrates a birthday in March
01:41as well. So something in common with the cat at home and all the cats and the kids here at Karmacad
01:48Zen Dog Rescue Society. And you know what we've got so much more to talk about. Every month we
01:53feature volunteer opportunities that they have here for you and not just for in the rescue.
01:59Things that you can do behind the scenes as well and we're going to turn it over to my good friend
02:03Gina Dwyer and she's going to tell you all about that. So we have multiple opportunities currently if
02:08you're interested in volunteering whether you would like to interact with the cats or not. If you have
02:14experience or you have an interest we are looking for a social media coordinator and a grant writer
02:22and those can be done from home as well as merchandising and morning cleaners at our adoption
02:29center. And we are always looking for fosters so if you have a spare room and the love to give we would
02:36love to have you as a foster family. So now we get to the most fun part of our video and that is the
02:43adorable adoptables and we always turn it over to Lauren Sieber to tell you all about them and there
02:48are some cuties here that you're going to want to see and hear about. So as always we have a variety of
02:54kitties to choose from that are up for adoption right now. In foster we have Bakari who is an eight-year-old
03:01black cat. She's a female. She's a little bit on the shy side but just wants a comfortable place to
03:07snuggle in a nice little window to enjoy her sunshine. We have Sam Adams who is a seven-year-old
03:14black and white male. Sam Adams does prefer to be the king of his castle so he would be best as an only
03:22animal in the home. We have Harlow who is a six-year-old black and white female cat. She's a lovable
03:29and gets along with other kitties as well. We have Sammy Sweetheart here who I'm sure you will see on
03:36the video. She is a 14-year-old calico who is all about being on somebody's lap, getting chin scratches,
03:44getting her little tushy rubbed. She's an absolute love bug. You can check out all of our adoptables on
03:51our website by clicking the link below and as always we've got more cats coming in so get your adoption
03:58applications in now so you can get pre-approved and then when the right cat comes along we'll be all
04:04ready for you. And I can speak from experience there is no fee to put in the adoption application
04:10and the process is painless. I have to tell you I almost walked away with Sammy Sweetheart and my mom
04:16foiled the plans. She took a little fall and she's recovering. I didn't think it would be fair if I
04:22brought a new cat in to introduce to Cornell right now because I'm back and forth to her house for the next
04:27few weeks. But take a look at Sammy Sweetheart. She's absolutely adorable and I promise you a
04:33boatload of love if you adopt Sammy. So thank you so much for watching our latest Kitty Corner video
04:39here at magic983.com and remember about Paws for Celebration. The tickets are available. We've got
04:45the link here at magic983.com and also at karmicatzendogrescue.org so you can get your tickets there
04:51and we look forward to seeing you. It is a great night of dinner and dancing and prizes and music and
04:56great food and of course you get to meet these lovely ladies as well. So again thanks for
05:01watching our Kitty Corner video. We will see you next time here at Karmicatzendog Rescue Society.
05:16This can be done from home as well as merchandising and a morning cleaner at our adoption center.
05:24Well more than one morning cleaner at our adoption center and I already screwed it up.
05:30Just one. We only need one. One more cleaner. Come on down.
