00:12All right, Patty's on the phone for First Responder Friday.

00:14She is honoring her boyfriend today.

00:16Good morning, Patty. How are you?

00:18Good morning. Thank you.

00:19Well, listen, let's talk about Brent.

00:21Tell us what he does and is also training to do something else.

00:24So talk to us about this.

00:25Yeah, so he is an EMT for Sunstar Paramedics.

00:30And he is currently about to finish paramedic school in about three weeks from now.

00:36So, yeah, it's pretty exciting.

00:38Now, does he have a paramedic job lined up?

00:41Yes, he does with the same company.

00:43Okay, great. This is awesome.

00:46Now, I found out that you're also in nursing school as well.

00:48So you're a First Responder as well.

00:50Yeah, I guess so.

00:51Yeah, I myself graduate next Saturday.

00:55Oh, my gosh. Give it up for Patty.

00:57That's awesome.

00:58Tell me how you and Brent met.

01:01We actually met at a restaurant, Carrabba's.

01:05He was a server and I was a hostess.

01:08And I wasn't looking for a relationship or anything, but he was persistent and he became my friend.

01:13And then we started going out.

01:15That's great.

01:16And then did you both, when you guys were talking, did you both know you guys wanted to go into the medical field?

01:19No, not at all.

01:22I'm the one who pushed him to go to school.

01:25Oh, wow.

01:26So he finally found that he wanted to be a firefighter eventually.

01:31So to be a firefighter, you have to be a medic as well.

01:35Right.

01:35Yeah, so that's what pushed him.

01:38That's awesome.

01:39So you talked about you knew that he could do this job.

01:43What is it that you saw in him that made you think that?

01:45Well, he's very determined.

01:48He perseveres through everything.

01:50And he's very compassionate towards people and wanting to help them.

01:54Okay.

01:55So I feel like those are the major qualities that I think are going to make him good.

02:00I think he'd probably say the same thing about you, huh?

02:02Yeah.

02:03That's great.

02:04You guys are a power couple when it comes to the medical field.

02:08That's great.

02:09What do you guys like to do when you're not working?

02:11When you guys get a time to, when your schedules line up?

02:14So we literally just like to go to Starbucks and just talk about like everything that we've seen or have done.

02:21Or we also like to quiz each other.

02:24So I'll be like, okay, so why would you give this to a patient?

02:26He'll be like, oh, well, because of this.

02:28And so it's like all these bouncing ideas back and forth.

02:31And we talk about what we do on our days off.

02:34Well, I think it's interesting that you not only have someone to kind of, you know,

02:38after you've seen something, maybe traumatic or whatever,

02:40have someone to bounce off of and someone that understands kind of what you're going through.

02:44But also a built-in study partner for you.

02:46Yeah.

02:47So that's great, Patty.

02:49I love it.

02:49Well, listen, we are thankful to you, Patty.

02:53Your graduation coming up.

02:54That is so cool.

02:55And also we're so thankful for what Brent does.

02:58And we're excited for his future as well as he becomes a paramedic and then eventually a firefighter.
