St. Pete Beach Firefighter Honored By Neighbor For First Responder Friday

00:11All right, it is First Responder Friday, and we have Kirsten on the phone this morning.

00:15Kirsten, how are you?

00:17Good, how are you?

00:18We're doing great. So we're talking about Brian today.

00:19First of all, tell us who Brian is to you, and then also what he does as a First Responder.

00:24He is my neighbor, but he is also a bonus dad to me.

00:27He is a lieutenant for St. Pete Beach, both the North and the South Station.

00:32And you said that he was like a bonus dad to you. How did that come about?

00:36What do you mean by that?

00:38Recently, I have struggled with my father, and he's kind of stepped in and kind of been that father figure for me.

00:45Kind of helped me out in life with decisions and things like that.

00:48I always like to ask this question. What do you think makes him great at his job?

00:52What are the qualities that you see in him, and you're like, this is what makes him a great lieutenant?

00:55He always puts everyone before himself. He always makes sure everyone else is okay and has what they need before he does anything for himself.

01:04Very cool. And when he is not serving our community, what are some of the things that he likes to do?

01:08I mean, obviously, he's your neighbor, so what's he like to do on his off days?

01:12He likes to hang out with his family. He likes to hang out with his son.

01:16His son is also a firefighter for Treasure Island Beach.

01:19His son is his prized possession.
