Temple Terrace Paramedic Honored By Friend For First Responder Friday

00:06Let's honor another First Responder on 99.5 QYK.

00:11It is First Responder Friday. We have Amelia on the phone. Good morning, Amelia. How are you?

00:16I'm doing well. How is everybody?

00:18We are doing great. So we get to talk to you about your friend Alec.

00:22Tell us about Alec and how he serves our community as a First Responder.

00:25Of course. Alec is actually a paramedic with Temple Terrace Fire Department.

00:30He's actually climbed the ladder with them. He started as an EMS and then went into Fire Academy.

00:36And then he joined Temple Terrace. Then he went to paramedic school.

00:40And he's been a paramedic there for about a year now.

00:42He's wonderful. He's passionate about his career. He's caring, knowledgeable.

00:47We're thankful for what he does for our community and very appreciative.

00:50How do you guys know each other?

00:51So my husband and I actually met him at a car show a few years ago.

00:57And we've just been great friends with him ever since.

01:00And it says here that Alec just got married as well, huh?

01:04Yes, he did. Him and Katie. So they just got married April 22nd.

01:07I wanted to give them a shout out.

01:09There you go. And you're a nurse too, right?

01:11I am, yeah. So Tampa General Hospital.

01:14Yeah.

01:14Well, thank you for what you do as well.

01:17Now, you listed off some attributes about Alec, but in your mind, if you could sum up why you think he's so great

01:23and so driven when it comes to being a paramedic, how would you describe him?

01:27I would just say, you know, between him being so driven in his career and so passionate about what he does,

01:33that would make him a great, you know, first responder.

01:36He cares about everybody in his life, even if he just met you on the street.

01:40He's super caring. He'd give you the shirt off of his back and do anything to help you.

01:43So I think that's what makes him a great first responder.

01:46Well, very nice. Amelia, we are so thankful that you reached out and let us learn about Alec

01:51and the fact that he's a paramedic and Temple Terrace and serves our community.

01:55And we want to do this for Alec.
