00:05Hey, it's Shannon Renee with Yelma Rory Bounce. I'm going to fight with the bounce, and it is National Dance Week.
00:09And as you know, or maybe you don't know, it's one of my favorite pastimes, specifically Latin dance.
00:13And everybody always asks me, like, where can I go and take lessons?
00:17So, I thought I would give you a little mini-lesson today.
00:20Well, not me, I've asked my friends here, they're instructors at Ann Arbor. Would you like to introduce yourself?
00:24Yes, my name is Alex, I'm one of the co-founders of A2 Movimiento Latino here at Ann Arbor.
00:30And?
00:31Hi, I'm Amanda, I'm also an instructor with A2 Movimiento Latino.
00:34Awesome, alright. There are many styles that fall underneath the umbrella of Salsa.
00:40Which style are we doing today?
00:42So, today we're doing Salsa on One.
00:44Awesome, alright. Well, we're going to get to the lesson. I hope that you guys enjoy it, alright?
00:49So, here we go.
00:50The basic step for Salsa on One, we are going to be doing leader's timing.
00:54We're going to start with our left foot going forward.
00:57So, all together, five, six, ready, one.
01:01From here, we're going to rock our weight back onto our right foot for two.
01:06And we're going to step right next to our right foot with our left on three.
01:11And then kind of opposite for the back as we go five, six, seven.
01:17So, all together, that will be one, two, three.
01:22Five, six, seven.
01:25Left, right, left.
01:27Right, left, right.
01:29That was so much fun.
01:31We learned a little bit of footwork, the basic for Salsa on One.
01:34And actually, they're going to show you how it looks in some partner work.
