Son Of Two Marines Honored By Wife For Military Monday

00:00Tampa Bay's morning crew want to honor and thank those who protect and serve our country.

00:05Time now for Military Monday on 99.5 QYK.

00:10All right, for Military Monday, we got Christine on the phone who is honoring her husband.

00:14Good morning, Christine. How you doing?

00:16I'm good. Good morning.

00:18So we want to talk about your husband, Matthew. Tell us how he serves our country.

00:23So he's been in the military since he was 18.

00:25I didn't meet him until a few years after, and we've moved several places already.

00:32We have two kids together and through deployments and overnight watches and just all sorts of stuff.

00:40I mean, he still he comes home and acts as if we are still his number one priority.

00:45He's been an amazing dad, an amazing husband.

00:48He's just all around just such an amazing person.

00:52And I'm just so grateful for him and everything that he does, not only for our family, but for this country.

00:57Let me ask you this. He's in the Marines. What's his rank there?

01:00He's a staff sergeant right now. He should be getting promoted this year.

01:04So we're really excited about that.

01:06Love it.

01:07Nice. I love that.

01:09What are some of the things when he is home and you guys get to spend some time together?

01:12What are some of the things that you love to do?

01:14Um, so my our youngest son is autistic and he is obsessed with the water.

01:21So we are always going to the pools and going to the beaches together.

01:24Last summer, he my husband took my son on a special Father Sunday to one of the water parks here in Florida.

01:31We they love skateboarding.

01:33My husband taught my older son how to skateboard.

01:37So they all go to the skate parks together and ride skateboards.

01:40And we got a skateboarding Marine.

01:41Marine. Yeah, that's awesome.

01:45I love that.

01:46I think a lot of women out there might be wondering if Matt has a brother, maybe a single one.

01:51He sounds awesome.

01:52He does. He absolutely does.

01:54He's got two brothers, one's younger and one's a little bit older, but they do not live here.

02:00Now, he actually is a son of two retired Marines.

02:02Is that right?

02:03Yes, that's correct.

02:04His mom and his dad were both in the Marine Corps as well.

02:06Wow. A lot of pride in that family when it comes to serving our country.

02:10That is remarkable.

02:15Also, it was great to be able to honor your husband, Matthew.
