00:00We know the hard work and sacrifice they go through serving our community and keeping us safe.

00:06Let's honor another First Responder on 99.5 QYK.

00:11We got Sean on the phone for First Responder Friday, and he's honoring his friend and co-worker.

00:17Good morning, Sean. How are you doing?

00:19Very well, thank you. How are you?

00:20Good. We're going to talk about Jody today.

00:22So tell us about Jody, how does she serve our community, and how long has she been doing it?

00:26Well, Jody started as an officer in Ohio.

00:29And she's now with Tampa Police Department.

00:31She's been doing this over 10 years now, and she's recently just got promoted to corporal.

00:37And I've worked with her for several years, serving Tampa Police Department on our bike unit to start with.

00:44That's where I first met her.

00:45And then she was with the field training program when I was there.

00:48And she just recently left my squad just from a regular District 1 patrol squad.

00:53Well, great. And, Sean, by the way, I want to say quickly, thank you so much for your service as well.

00:58Oh, thank you.

00:59We appreciate you.

01:00And as far as Jody goes, you've kind of gotten to witness her coming from a different department,

01:05which I know probably can be tough because you're kind of trying to find your way and your spot in the new department.

01:11What do you think makes her great, and what makes her fit in and shine for Tampa PD?

01:14Well, really, she's an officer that she cares deeply.

01:19You know, she really cares about community service.

01:23She, you know, worked with the homeless a lot and helping people that were in need of services.

01:29And so she would go that extra mile and help them.

01:31And, you know, now it's the holiday season.

01:34So, you know, she's on a specialty unit where, you know, they're helping families in need, kids in need.

01:40And she just, she truly, you know, she shines because she cares a lot.

01:45And she goes that extra effort.

01:48I love that.

01:48And she's a single mom herself.

01:50Correct.

01:51So, she's doing all this for other families and for our community and also has a little one at home.

01:56Correct.

01:57Absolutely.

01:57Wow.

01:58Well, she sounds like an amazing woman and an amazing officer, and we're lucky to have her.

02:02You know, Sean, it's really cool to hear a co-worker, recognize another co-worker,

02:07especially when it comes to being a first responder.

02:09So, I commend you for that.

02:11And we'd like to do this.
