00:00And on my week off, I traveled to go see my friend Elena in Italy.
00:06And before I left, I said to my family, can you just do me one solid, right?
00:13Just do me this one solid.
00:14Now, your family's your husband, Dallas, your two children, and you're now a pair, Laura.
00:20Yes.
00:21But my husband doesn't necessarily handle things great when I'm not around.
00:26And it's just, you know, I get it.
00:28He doesn't deal with the kids all day.
00:31So it's like, it's a change for him.
00:33He's great with the kids.
00:34He can handle it.
00:35But for a week, that's a lot to be, you know, working and then trying to juggle everything
00:40too.
00:41It's a lot for one person.
00:42But I said to him before I left, whatever you do, please do not call me like if the kids
00:48are acting up or you feel like cash is, you know, being extra sassy that day and call me
00:56with like a load of problems that I'm going to carry with me on vacation.
01:00However, if somebody goes to the hospital, you better call me.
01:07Well, let me tell you what happened the day before I left Italy because somebody went to
01:12the hospital.
01:12Well, my son, Jackson, this is going to make every mom in Charlotte cringe.
01:19My son, Jackson, had a play date over to the house and they were running from the kitchen
01:24through the living room into the playroom.
01:26And they were playing like tag or whatever.
01:29And my son's two years old.
01:31Right.
01:31And he's like a bull in a china shop.
01:33Like he's just running into things constantly.
01:35He always has a bruise or something.
01:37Well, he caught the rug running through the living room and I guess like leapt into the
01:44air like Superman and came down and hit his head directly on the corner of the coffee table.
01:52So ensues a huge gash in his head.
01:56And my nanny is like, I'm freaking out.
01:59There's blood everywhere.
02:01He's crying.
02:03The other little girl's crying because she's scared.
02:05And Dallas is working upstairs.
02:07He hears all the commotion and comes downstairs.
02:10Took one look at it and he's like, we need stitches.
02:13Oh, yeah.
02:14I missed the first set of stitches.
02:16Number one.
02:17Number two, nobody called me.
02:20I even spoke to Dallas that morning.
02:23And he didn't reveal?
02:24And he didn't say anything.
02:25He was at the ER.
02:27He was at the ER talking to me like nothing was wrong.
02:30My man listened to his mission and understood it.
02:35Do not tell mom anything that would make her carry weight on her vacation to Italy.
02:41Except for he missed the fact that I said I specifically would like to know if anybody
02:45ends up in the hospital.
02:46And here we are.
02:47That's just a ha ha thing to him.
02:49But he did kind of to me what you do to Amanda.
02:52He called me later on that night and I was at dinner with a bunch of friends and he said,
02:58hey, I have a I'm finishing up work.
03:00Will you call me in like 30 minutes?
03:02And I was like, yeah, sure.
03:04Thinking like he's going to let me talk to the kids one last day.
03:06Mommy's coming home tomorrow.
03:08The second I get on the phone with him, he goes, OK, so I go, hey, where are the kids?
03:13He goes, so something happened and I don't want you to be upset.
03:19And then right there, I was already mad.
03:21Right.
03:21When you tell somebody not to be upset, like that's that's the trigger moment.
03:25And he told me and I was like, and this is how many hours ago did this happen?
03:30He's like 12.
03:31He's fine.
03:3212 hours and you didn't call me.
03:34He handled it.
