01:31two kids since we spoke well just one but we have we had we had a baby right before covet little garrett
01:38and now we have june who was born yeah he was a covet baby okay all right yeah you had to have
01:43something to do that's like when you're home when you're home not on the road then you know yeah yeah
01:48you have sex then babies come and then are the chickens all gone chickens are gone and chickens got
01:55it's it's sad actually we had we had a predation by coyotes oh no you know we had two chickens and
02:04you know with the three kids my wife's like i can't deal with the freaking chickens
02:07yeah chickens rock and roll baby i'm back yeah i gotcha it was either get rid of the kids or get
02:16rid of the chickens and chickens had to go i got it all right so listen you've been uh you're coming
02:20into town like i said on saturday uh but you guys have been out and about what's uh touring been
02:25like uh lately yeah it's been it's been uh it's been cold uh you know been snowy and uh i think
02:34yeah i mean on the real i think i think i think some people just aren't ready to go out yet because
02:38you'll have some circumstances where people bought tickets and they won't come out yeah um but then
02:43there's plenty of people that uh that come out and of course we're on the way to florida which is
02:47where they never heard about covet anyhow so right that's the one thing to get better uh and you're
02:53with the you're with the juice so uh tell us about your band that's the juice uh so yeah we got
02:58chuck treese philadelphia legend on drum uh jimmy jazz from a special sauce and van gordon martin a
03:06great lead guitar player from boston but i guess the big story this year like musically was uh chuck
03:12treese and i uh reconnecting actually at a jersey shore gig in lbi uh bird and betty's and we've just
03:20been playing ever since we played a lot of people's backyards this year and um we made a new record it's
03:26called uh philadelphia mississippi oh so that's coming in june nice very cool very cool what's
03:31what's the philadelphia mississippi connection yeah so i've always you know there's a there's a small
03:38city in in mississippi called philadelphia and i've always thought man that's that's pretty cool and uh
03:43you know being a a blues man myself i've always thought like man it would be so cool to go record
03:48a record down in philadelphia mississippi we didn't record a philadelphia we recorded a cold water
03:53mississippi um with luther dickinson from the north mississippi all-stars but the record was
03:59really about chuck treese making a pilgrimage uh from philadelphia to mississippi to the hill country
04:06and the delta blues and bringing our hip-hop blues with a lot of uh collaborating with a lot of
04:12upcoming new generation blues men and women and also some old-timers as well so it's really cool
04:20wow and then we brought it back we got we actually got the singles called love from philly
04:23which featuring schooly d how's he doing man he's great man yes we caught up down in fishtown
04:32and cut him i guess uh yeah this summer yeah hey um all right so we have you on zoom right now so we
04:40can see what you look like and everything what is on your thumb right now is is that like a finger
04:44thingy yeah that's my finger pick thingy yeah that's my finger pick okay are you wearing that
04:49for um like fashion or do you or are you getting ready to play something yeah i know i mean i i got
04:55my guitar right here yeah hey i play a little chorus from love from philly okay all right let's check it
05:02out electricity is rolling food meat like the cup to the key to the money and cryptocurrency and my
05:08feet is connected to the street no matter where i'm in santa philly that's alive in my bones and my
05:14blood it's a family thing some accent relax to the song that we sing 76 it's a philly thing
05:19it's a real thing it's a real thing it's a real thing it's nitty gritty hot sauce in the city
05:24yo park a lot hustlers south street shucks yo but now we're chilling out on mmo baby
05:30oh yeah love from philly love from philly love love love love from philly love from philly love
05:41i got nothing but love for you yeah i love that shout out to us and the nitty gritty is that gritty
05:50uh like the the flyers gritty is that a shout out to him who's that oh you don't know the flyers
05:57mascot now i've been i've been living up in massachusetts for too long hey but by the way did
06:06you we was talking to preston earlier boston got slammed massachusetts got slammed with the snowstorm
06:12how'd you how'd you fare yeah well actually we were um we played boston that night um and then after
06:19the show we uh we we got in because i had the family out of me so we uh we followed the tour bus
06:26down to the mohican sun in connecticut so right when the storm was starting to hit at like 11 and
06:31the roads got kind of dicey but we made it and uh good thing we left that night because yeah i mean
06:37all new england was shut down yeah on saturday hey i wanted to ask and uh ask you g with uh you know
06:43with how we're communicating now uh zoom kind of being a product of of uh uh the pandemic i mean the
06:48the technology already existed but it really took off when when people were you know uh shacked in
06:53at home and and wanted to uh to hang out and we found this now a new way to to do interviews in a
06:59better way because we can see you you can see us and there's something about that connection um what
07:03about with with musicians and being able to uh to maybe collaborate and and using this technology
07:09and you know because we saw people getting together and doing jam sessions and stuff like that
07:13have you been using it more to to hook up with with friends and musically and play or write or do
07:18things like that yeah actually um i mean not so much now that we're kind of hopefully getting back
07:24to normal but yeah i mean during the spring uh the beginning of the spring of the pandemic and that
07:31summer i was doing like zoom guitar lessons zoom songwriting sessions actually i was doing um
07:37shots out to this kid in philly named noah gibney we wrote 13 songs and um you know he got a he made
07:43a record out of it so you know we did a lot of we did a lot of uh of writing and communication like
07:49that and then i was doing like i do like zoom parties you know and uh live streams but yeah it's
07:56it's just it's yeah i'm all zoomed out man yeah it's just listen while it's cool it's just not the
08:03same it's not the same yeah yeah it's funny because i was wondering i was like am i just calling in on
08:09these guys are we zooming um yeah i agree it's like it's fun it's a whole new thing you know it's fun
08:16it's funny because right before the pandemic um i was taking um vocal lessons on tour before every show
08:25and uh and so my new teacher had got me hip to zoom so i was like hip to zoom before yeah and i was
08:31like what opinions yeah you know zoom yeah a lot of a lot of stuff's happened this past year you know
08:40what what's up with the uh wmmr nft wait i want to know all about your nfts i just saw this you have
08:47the juice gang plus your blazed ape i want to hear all about your nfts oh yeah okay so yeah so we have
08:53nft out now it's called juice gang and uh it's a celebration of the grammy nominated the juice
08:59record uh from characters from all our animated videos that went with that record and people want
09:04to check that out they can go to nft philadelphonic.com and um yes it's cool uh you know the the
09:12the crypto community and nft community is is a really it's a really happening space and uh
09:18uh so some dude hit me on twitter and he was from philly and he must work on some nfts called blazed
09:26apes smokers unit or something that's like one of the biggest nfts out there right now yeah so they
09:31made like a g level with a harmonica that's pretty cool all right so i i need i need you to tell me
09:36though when when you were approached by you know about nfts and so did you fully understand it the first
09:42time it was explained to you do you still understand it now that you're a part of it
09:47i don't get it i just i mean it's a way to make money but i don't know
09:52and like let's see do you understand are you trying to make some money yeah there you go
09:59look no on a serious note though i always say to to people that you know like which is something that
10:04someone told me in in 2017 like you're trying to wrap your head around like what is bitcoin or what is
10:11what is this you know this this just doesn't make sense and then this dude's like look just get a
10:16coinbase account you know put a hundred bucks or 500 bucks whatever you want to put in and just start
10:20just get your feet wet so that's what i did and uh i've been into it for a while actually it's pretty
10:24cool there's this guy scott melker uh and he's from florida but he was a philly kid for a while he's
10:30a dj at glam and a lot of places down in old city and um he's like now the dan rather of of crypto like
10:38he's like got a huge huge uh following it's unbelievable well it's it's funny how it vacillates
10:44and then a lot of people start running towards and then they run away from it but it seems to appeal
10:48to a lot of people who want to have a little bit more control over what their their currency is worth
10:53you know and there's it's it's a um listen again for as much as i i dive in and try to understand it
11:00fully i only scratched the surface and a lot of people i know who really seem to understand it still
11:06don't quite seem to understand it so it's still in that shaking out process well i will tell you
11:12this um i got hacked two weeks ago huh and uh like i did a stupid a really stupid thing i gave up uh
11:21you have to be careful because like there's websites like there's this um like the nft
11:27trading website the main one's called open sea and i googled open sea and i pressed on like a
11:32fishing site there was like an exact replica of that website you know what i'm saying it looked
11:37like it it acted like it you could not tell the difference and um i gave up what's called you know
11:43your your seed phrase and you're so stupid and man they they took me they cleaned me out oh my god it
11:51was the worst feeling ever man like at one minute i'm looking at my you know my wallet stack because i was
11:57about to buy all this stuff it's gone where'd it go oh no may i ask how much you lost i i lost over
12:06fifty thousand dollars oh my god oh my god jesus christ we're gonna start a gofundme
12:16well people can buy tickets to the show at the tla that's how you're funny you can help out
12:19or they could buy my nft they could do that too yeah what's cool about your nfts is they come with
12:26um albums they come with signed posters chance to win tickets so um that is a big thing about nfts
12:33is that you're only getting this digital file that you can like display on your wall or take a
12:38screenshot of but you're giving more to it so congratulations on blowing it up and making it
12:42more tangible yeah it's uh it's cool you know it's cool to just kind of jump into a new creative
12:49space you know so that that's what's happening you know nice all right well listen gee when's
12:53a new record coming out again and it's uh it's philadelphia new records dropping in june it'll be
13:00on uh it is actually dropping as an nft and as a regular release dropping on vinyl and it's got
13:07it's got some great special guests like i mentioned schooley d chuck trees um king fit
13:14christone kingfish ingrant you hit you hit to him preston no who is he he's a young blues kid uh
13:20kingfish you got to check him out he plays everybody he's the guy uh uh alvin young blood heart

13:32repping hard from the 215 on this one nice man you always surround yourself with great musicians
13:37and it always comes out on top man the tla saturday i can sound good somehow you know
