00:00the NBA playoffs have been a bit of a dud so far that changed yesterday as we had a couple pretty
00:17fun games in the association up first it was the Pistons and the Knicks and I thought that the
00:24Knicks talent would eventually win out and they would be able to come away with a pretty convincing
00:30series win over the Pistons but credit Detroit like getting a win at MSG now having this tied up
00:36at one going back to Detroit this is I mean it's best case scenario for the Pistons and you could
00:42see like they were they were comfortable in game one or sorry they weren't comfortable at times in
00:47game one but they were starting to get their legs under them starting to get their legs under them
00:50and then the Knicks just took it out right from underneath them but for this team to come back
00:54in that way in game two it shows a lot and it now like this this feels like a series and that's tough
01:01for the Knicks because they have used a lot of their or not a lot of their guys but they've used up a lot
01:06of minutes with their guys this season and I think they kind of needed this one to be like a four or
01:13five game series if this is a drag them out six or seven game series that's I look I don't know how
01:19much of a shot the the Knicks have against the Cavs in the next round anyway but if they wanted any
01:24hope of it I think this had to be a bit of a quick one given the miles that are on Brunson Brunson and
01:28he comes up limping in game one given the miles that were on Hart um OGN and OB has been great but
01:33you are kind of just waiting for that to fall apart as well so given everything that was going on
01:39with this Knicks team I think they kind of needed this one to be a little bit quicker than it was
01:42and for the Pistons to come out now with this series tied at one really important stuff for
01:49them so uh kudos to them for that but also the the the real drama of the day was the Denver Nuggets
01:57taking on the LA Clippers in game two of their series and game one was close the Clippers just
02:02couldn't get the big stop when they needed it this time they got the big stops when they needed it and
02:07Kawhi Leonard was excellent oh he was so good in this game and it's just those little cerebral
02:13things that he does like and again like you guys can see obviously fan um but like they're obviously
02:21gonna bring a double at him when it's a a one point game late Westbrook is cheating over cheating
02:27over cheating over like he's basically you may as well just bring the double at that point and like
02:31it's it's a little thing but he recognizes that it's like okay well I guess I'm going this way then
02:35and he just dribbles up and instead of driving into all the help and everything just pulls up
02:39mid-range jumper boom knocks it down just it's it's perfection and it's a little thing but a lot
02:45of guys would have all right well I'm going to the hole so I'm just going to drive into that help and
02:50then two more bits of help that are coming after and I'm going to force up a tough shot it's like
02:54you know I'm one of the best mid-range players that's ever existed in the history of this sport
02:58so I'm just going to do that again and we're going to be cool with it great great um like he he was
03:04awesome Norm Powell really really tried really hard to hit the big shots late and then finally
03:09comes up with an absolute uh what felt like a dagger at the time of a three ball and now credit
03:15Denver for battling back to every time they would claw back into it claw back into it but it it felt
03:22like that like it felt like they were clawing back in right it didn't feel like it was just a
03:26oh man and the Clippers got us no this way they were just scratching and clawing for everything they
03:30could get and somehow they were just hanging around hanging around hanging around um and then
03:35they get an opportunity with the ball late and Brown has a chance to tie the game and um he puts
03:42up the Carlton Banks three-pointer Jokic gets the rebound turns around and just heaves it and it's off
03:47and this series is now tied at one game apiece you knew this was going to be close and you knew this
03:53was going to be a grind of a series but that like the score was in doubt for most of it but if you just
03:59if you took the scoreboard away it just felt like the Clippers were the better team in that game on
04:04on Monday night they just they felt like they were more in control of that and then at some point it
04:10was just Jokic was like all right I guess I have to win this one now and I think sometimes we can
04:14overplay depth in the NBA I remember again from a Raptors standpoint when hey it's the bench mob they
04:20got the deepest team in the league it's like okay that's awesome in the regular season um but now
04:25LeBron's playing 45 minutes so depth doesn't seem to really matter because they've got their bench
04:31down to six and uh they're winning so does this matter no a lot of it comes down to how much you
04:37can get from your stars and how much you can squeeze out of them and Denver it is clear is going to have
04:42to squeeze every last drop out of Jokic to get it done Murray had some big moments in game one and a
04:47couple here in game two um MPJ was great as a rebounder and that I think that is going to have
04:53to be where Denver's advantage now comes in because like Zubats is doing a pretty good job
04:59as good of a job as he can on on Jokic um like where Jokic struggled honestly in last game was the
05:06free throw line but the turnover too I guess and you can put a lot of that credit on on Zubats for the
05:11pressure that he is putting on uh Jokic and and kind of forcing some of those issues but it does feel
05:16like everywhere else there's a bit of a size advantage for Denver and so I think there may be
05:21maybe you want to utilize that a little bit more and it would become a bit of a spacing nightmare
05:25to have MPJ and Gordon down in the block like that all the time but you have size advantages there and
05:31there so I guess if you want to pull Jokic out a little bit have MPJ and Gordon I know you like to
05:36open them up with the corners there but have them using their size advantage down by the rim um and then
05:42you can still have Murray and Brown out in the corners or out at the the elbow kinda as your your
05:49three-point shooting and stuff like that like I just I think there might be some ways that you can play
05:53around with potentially um trying to to maximize a size advantage that they appear to have here in this
06:01series so that that could be an adjustment there for Denver but credit the Clippers defensively they
06:06really buckled down and forced a lot of turnovers and Denver um like Jokic is great and far be it
06:13for me to criticize a guy who gets a triple double again in the postseason but I think they kind of
06:20needed him to be a little bit better and those turnovers were a bit tough and I think again credit
06:23to Zubats but a great night in the NBA I am not anticipating the same for tonight with Bucks Pacers uh with
06:30the Grizzlies and the Thunder and with the the Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves that one I
06:35think will be good I think we'll get a good bounce back here from Los Angeles but um the the Bucks
06:40that was a really concerning game one performance with just how bad they look defensively just all
06:46over right like they had to work for everything on offense and for Memphis like they're not close
06:51uh the spread in that game's 14 and a half I with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye
06:56we'll take Oklahoma City minus 14 and a half there I do think the Lakers bounce back in the spot
07:00against the Timberwolves tonight but um again not anticipating a a drama filled night the same
07:05way we got on Monday
