00:00Let's take a look and see who greatly had their fantasy football value impacted this offseason,
00:08either positively or negatively.
00:15So yeah, looking at the players who had their fantasy football stock change because of what
00:19happened this offseason, we're going to begin at wide receiver with Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce.
00:24It's a list of five.
00:25I'm cheating and putting six on because these two are lumped together.
00:28For Pittman, he's going to be the number two on a pretty mid-level offense.
00:32Like, not that, oh wow, you're going from Daniel Jones, this is, how can you possibly survive?
00:38But we know what Aaron Rodgers is.
00:41It is quick passes, it is I don't want to get hit.
00:44That team got incredibly lucky last year to a frustrating degree for those of us who took
00:48the under and went pretty hard on this team ain't gonna be shit.
00:52They got incredibly lucky last year.
00:53I don't think this offense from a fantasy standpoint is going to be big enough to really
00:58sustain one, let alone two wide receiving options.
01:02And so maybe Pittman gets a bit of a boost because he could be the quicker underneath stuff guy.
01:07And DK maybe using that big body to try to take it off over the top.
01:11But I just, I think that he was in a much better situation for himself in Indianapolis than this
01:16one in Pittsburgh.
01:17So I think it hits him pretty big.
01:18For Pierce, he was already getting integrated as more of the number one as the season was
01:24going on out there in Indianapolis.
01:26And so if Daniel Jones is anything close to what he was last season, Pierce is going to
01:31be more than just the deep ball guy.
01:32He's going to be, I think, a true blue number one wide receiver.
01:36And is he going to actually produce like that?
01:39Maybe, maybe not.
01:40But the volume is going to be there.
01:41The opportunity is certainly going to be there.
01:43And I think the talent is close enough that he's going to be able to take advantage of it
01:46and have a very good fantasy season.
01:49At number four on this list is Tyler Algier.
01:52And it happened twice.
01:54First, he went to Arizona.
01:55And it looked like it could be a really big move for him.
01:58Connor really banged up.
01:59None of the other running backs in Arizona were very good.
02:02Now, downside, the offense sucks.
02:04But it's not like if he would have stayed in Atlanta, that problem would have been dealt
02:08with.
02:09So he goes to Arizona.
02:10He has a chance to be the guy.
02:12And we've all said, this dude has the talent to be the guy.
02:15And so, okay, fantasy stock right up through the roof.
02:21And then the draft happens.
02:23And Jeremiah Love gets picked very high.
02:26Too high for Arizona.
02:28And all of a sudden, Algier falls right back into the same role he had last year.
02:33Albeit with more competition.
02:34Some crazy how from some of the other running backs were behind him.
02:37On a worse offense.
02:39Now, injuries happen.
02:43Jeremiah Love banged up in the preseason.
02:45I'm going to miss, I think, the rest of the preseason now.
02:47So there is at least an opportunity that Algier can really step up.
02:52But this team's not going anywhere.
02:54They are firmly committed at getting a very high draft pick and a pretty good draft this
02:59year.
02:59And so they're going to want to see what Jeremiah Love has.
03:03So this went from being an awesome situation to a, ugh, situation for Algier very, very
03:09quickly.
03:10And honestly, like it's, as a handcuff, sure.
03:14Late round, whatever, I guess.
03:16I'm not loving the situation for him.
03:18At number three, Brock Bowers.
03:20Last year was tough for him.
03:22A, the offense was terrible.
03:24And B, he was banged up a lot.
03:26And because they were trying to get a little bit more out of him, they just let him drag
03:32out there every week.
03:33And he was trying to carry the team and he couldn't because he was hurt.
03:36But now, you have, not that they have a bunch of options around him, but you have competent
03:40quarterback play, right?
03:41Like Kirk Cousins, I don't think we're going to have to, although, I mean, with the Pro
03:45Bowl being what it is, maybe he will.
03:47But I don't think many Pro Bowl ballots are going to have Kirk Cousins on it.
03:50I don't think that we're going to be talking about like, oh my gosh, fantasy steal, Kirk
03:53Cousins, but undoubtedly, Kirk Cousins, greater than sign, Geno Smith.
04:00Like that's, these are the agreed upon facts of the case, right?
04:04So this is a real big upgrade for him.
04:06And then when Mendoza comes in, what young quarterback doesn't like using a tight end
04:11over the middle as a safety blanket?
04:13So I think that this offseason really did bolster Bowers' standing as an elite tight
04:18end that could be worth drafting pretty early in the draft.
04:21At number two, Devonta Smith.
04:22He's the guy in Philadelphia now.
04:25And I think he has the chance to show the number one skills.
04:27I think the offense is going to have a bit of a facelift in Philadelphia.
04:30The offensive line should be healthy this season.
04:33And there's no way it can be as bad as it was a year ago.
04:35So now, like AJ Brown gone, you could say, okay, well, that's going to shift the focus
04:40of the defense over to Devonta Smith.
04:42Fine.
04:43I think this guy has the talent of a number one wide receiver.
04:45And so all the talk about AJ Brown, and now he's going to be over here on this side,
04:49and now he's going to be doing all this great stuff with New England, and he's going to
04:52be awesome, and yada, yada, yada.
04:53Okay.
04:55Devonta Smith can be a number one wide receiver in the National Football League.
04:58And I think he can be, if you went running back heavy early, I think he could be a number
05:03one on a fantasy team too.
05:05Like, I think that there is a real opportunity for this guy to truly show what he could do,
05:09even if the offense is just a little bit mid this season.
05:12And at number one, I'm going Justin Jefferson, this guy who last year, that whole best players
05:18in the NFL list I did before, he was on it.
05:21And now he's not this year.
05:22And two receivers jumped him in that race, and probably others who weren't on that list
05:27also getting past him.
05:28Now, I am not going to say that Kyler Murray is going to come in and be like first year
05:34in
05:34Denver Peyton Manning to Demarius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
05:39But, again, Kyler Murray, greater than sign, J.J. McCarthy.
05:43That was the quickest quarterback battle in preseason history.
05:46Did they even get to the first preseason game before they're like, oh, yeah.
05:52So, does Jefferson get back to being the best receiver in fantasy football this year?
05:56I don't know.
05:57I think he could.
05:57I really do think there's a world where he could do that.
06:00But it is going to be so far above what he did a year ago that I think he had
06:05to make
06:05it onto this list as being the guy whose fantasy stock was the greatest impacted coming off
06:11of what happened in the offseason.
06:14So, let me know.
06:15Did I miss anyone?
06:16Throw away your thoughts in the chat or in the comments, and we can talk some more fantasy

07:05But if you just want the football, I know I'm just, what the world needed more of was
07:10just random kind of bearded white dudes talking about fantasy football.
07:12But I did host a fantasy football show in Calgary on the radio here for a couple of years
07:16and did pretty well with it.
